Delicious ice cream!

Place is awesome! They have fruit bars that are water based or milk based, ice cream and other snacks such as tostilocos. When I arrived one clerk was helping a group of patrons and the other clerk was quick to help me. The clerk served me four different taste servings with the little spoons of their awesome natural fruit ice cream.
I tasted Guayaba (Guava), Mango, Strawberry, and Durazno (Peach). The Guava was amazing, be aware the guava is all natural so it has seeds in the ice cream. The Mango taste just like Mango! The Peach was peachy! It was the Strawberry that won me over. Amazing Strawberry ice cream here.
These four flavors really jumped out at me because of the colors. The Guayaba, Strawberry, Peach and Mango all were pink and had the fruit flavor I was craving but the color is what caught my eye. It was a range of pink hues to a pinkish yellow.
When you walk in it’s just like any other ice cream parlor with a Mexican twist. Don’t worry, everyone speaks English. Although, some of the flavors are written in Spanish I’m certain the staff will clear any names up for you because they are all very kind.
FYI and an FU to Trump; these paletas — Spanish for popsicles — will not rape you and they will not take your jobs. In fact, if you’re lactose intolerant you can enjoy the water based fruit popsicles. The place is in Escondido Square Shopping Center, in between North Gate and Takiza.

I remember the first time i was introduced to tostilocos, it was as if i had never lived before that moment. The combination of flavors, textures, and ingredients just explodes in your mouth.
This is the place for that.
The service is great. They are friendly and fast. I really hate the fact that its cash only. They have a little atm machine but it is junk.
They have so much more than tostilocos. The milk ice cream is great. Mamey and nut ice cream. Dang now I’m gonna have to go get some!
So this place is an oasis for the scorching heat we get here in Escondido. I would enjoy having my goodies inside tho! I don’t want to go back to the heat but this place doesnt make me want to stay. Why!?! Why in the world does this place not have air conditioning! Its get hot and sticky, i feel bad for the employees.
Other than that its a perfect place to get all sorts of goodies.

OK, so maybe I’m a snob, but I wasn’t that impressed. There were lots of flavor choices in the helados, more than you usually see. I went with my 2 favorites, guava and cheese.
The cheese flavor was really good, with chunks of farm cheese in it. The guava was good, but had tons of pips in it. You can’t eat them, they’re harder than pomegranate seeds. Why the hell wouldn’t they send the pulp through a strainer to get them out?
Also, the portions were very stingy. I’m used to paying $ 2.50 at Mixteca in San Marcos for a waffle cone with 2 big scoops. This was $ 4 for 2 small scoops in a waffle bowl! And the woman handed me the bowl on a napkin, it wasn’t even in a container! That means I can’t eat the bowl until I’m totally done with the ice cream, which is annoying.
They also have bars and do the crazy tostilocos stuff.
I’m going to Mixteca or Rita’s next time, then I won’t feel like I got ripped off.

This is my favorite place in the world to eat ice cream and popsicles. They have friendly staff but they only accept cash. In addition, the popsicles though in my opinion are the best because it tastes natural and sweet. If you are adventurous you should try the Diablitos or the Chilocos. The Chilocos and Diablitos are ice cream (mango, lime, or tamarind) covered in a red liquid called chamoy with a chile powder. This place is the best for a popsicle or ice cream!

I’ve been coming here since they open. I got to say this place is a hit or miss. Sometimes you get the workers who rush you, and aren’t as «clean» and sometimes you get excellent service. I have to let everyone know though that sometimes The ladies who make your chicharron don’t wear gloves so keep that in mind. As for the tostilocos they scoop the fruit with a cup. Everything else is nice except the fact that they sometimes «forget» to not wear gloves, but I kindly remind them to. In the summer this place gets very hot inside, which is why customers go in to get the product and leave ASAP! because it smells odd in there (who knows why) I would reccomend the paletas de agua and the mangoliadas. would I ever come here again? yes, I would. why? it is close to home, but if another «Paleteria» opens you bet I would go to the newer one.

Try the guayaba con leche (guava with milk) ice cream on a stick for $ 1. It has a lot of seeds, but you won’t find an ice cream made with actual guava anywhere else.

Awesome spot in Esco, didnt know this area had treats like this. Must note, the Chimango was bombbbb, must try, it was hot but not to the point where you cant finish it, and usually i cant handle spicy (i can barely finish hot cheetos) beyond good. not from this neighborhood so who knows when iget to try from their wide variety of ice cream flavors.

Excellent quality. I have been going to this place since I was a little girl and I have yet to find anything as good – even in Mexico. My favorite is the paleta de leche in guava flavor! You really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors because they’re all made with real, fresh fruit.

I love this place. I haven’t been here in a long time, but stopped in today with some friends. However, my family has a long history with this establishment. Before it moved to the shopping center on Escondido Boulevard, it was a tiny shop on Mission Avenue. When I was little, my mom, brother and I would all go to some field in San Marcos, pick bucket-​loads of berries, and bring what we picked back to Tropicana. We would trade our berries for their popsicles. They were wonderful then, and are wonderful now. I love the choices at this place… you can have popsicles in such a variety of fruit flavors, and they’re all made with fresh fruit. They also have milk-​based popsicles, and also ice cream in a bunch of fun and crazy flavors. I tried a sample of the «queso» flavor today… not my favorite, but worth trying.
I still love their popsicles. It reminds me of berry-​picking. I love that this place is family-​owned. Love it!
Oh, and it’s cheap too! $ 1.25 for a fruit popsicle; $ 1.50 for milk-​based popsicle. I didn’t get a look at the ice cream cost, but I doubt it’s much more.

The freakin’ Queso ice cream is freakin’ great! Basing my review on my favorite flavor I’d say this place is a 5. The chili mango flavor is great as well, as is the nuez, the guava…

It was not bad, but I definitely have experienced better.
