Eugene Fly Fishing Guide – Allan Cline

Allan Cline is the Fly Fishing guide trip my wife Ali decided to get me for my birthday. What an epic birthday present.
With my wife and I being ICU RNs, our schedules required a few changes to our scheduled trip. Allan was super accommodating and quick to get back to us either by phone call or email (He doesn’t text)
We met Allan at a convenient location and rode with him to the Upper Mckenzie a ways north of Leeburg dam. Neither I nor my wife have ever been Fly fishing so that was an element that we also had to learn quickly but his education softened the learning curve.
A quick ride and good chit chat and we were where Allan wanted to put in. He’d already arranged a shuttle service to have his vehicle ready for us just above «Martin’s.» I’m still learning all the locations on the Upper Mckenzie so please forgive me for not knowing our exact location.
Allan had us nymph’n and dry flying with appropriate flies for what the trout were biting on.
It took a bit to get the sensation down of when the rainbow trout hit the line but after Ali and i got that down — it was on.
Allan got us into position to get bite after bite after bite. When finally tally was up I’d caught 12 abs Ali caught 5 and we both got a nice tan, some eye-​opening education and a great tan but mostly a Super fun day in a drift boat. We had so much fun that we bought a used Koffler drift boat.
