Frontier Property Management

We just rented a nice place from Frontier Property Management and were very pleased with the whole experience. We were helped out by Shelly, she was very professional and courteous and explained everything to us. She was very prompt when returning calls and showing us the property.

Frontier is a great property management to rent from. I rented from them for approx. 3 years, and any time the home needed something they fixed it promptly. I enjoyed my rental, but moved on so I could buy a home. They made my moving experience very easy, and I obtained almost all of my deposit back. They even worked with me when I needed to change my move out date due to escrow changes. They were always efficient and friendly, especially Carol, and I recommend them!

First off, I’m not really sure why Carol is still «updating» and changing her lies 4 years later on my review but all of which are not facts and just an obvious way to pretend like she’s trying to fix the situation. Why don’t you try to better the company rather than cover things up! Move on and learn from your mistakes.

I did not do a good job in my first review of Frontier Property Management so I need to add more facts. This company did not take good photos of my property deliberately. Everything in the house was new. Paint, carpet, window blinds, etc. They placed 3 families in my home without my consent or knowledge with a combined credit score of 352. A reputable firm places only one family in a single family home with a credit score of 650 or more, get the picture? It was a divorced mother, her adult son and his friends. They never inspected the house while the renters were living there. They allowed the renters to break windows, tear up the floor in the kitchen and dining room, chip the tile in the kitchen, ruin the carpets with pet stains for which there was no deposit. Destroy the blinds, etc. When they moved out they allowed them to steal the refrigerator as they were friends with Frontier and placed them in another poor property owner’s house to do only God and Frontier knows what. There was dog poop all over the deck and house carpets. The other damages are too numerous to mention.
They are members of the Better Business Bureau but do not let this fool you. They pay the Better Business Bureau a fee for the arbitration limitations. When a person files a complaint for damages or a denial of a deposit they refuse to pay and and then it goes to arbitration which has a cap of $ 3,500.00. They did $ 13,528.35, in damages to my house through their management. I refused arbitration due to the low cap so they keep their A rating. It is just an insurance policy to limit Frontier Property Management’s Damages and other poorly managed companies from financial damage. They always brag about their «A» rating, because they frequently cause more than $ 3,500.00 in damage so the arbitration is declined and thus they keep an undeserved «A» rating. The BBB does not serve the public, only the businesses that pay their fee.
They charged me for work never performed and the prices were outrageous. If you are unfortunate enough to be with them please inspect your house your self. Their idea of an inspection is to drive by the front of the house and if it looks like it is not falling down or destroyed they take a picture of it and call it an inspection. They don’t even get out of the car unless someone moves out and then they take only photos that serves their purpose, deliberately inaccurate.
This company had a contractors license and turned it in to the State Contracting Licensing Board. Why do you think they turned in their license? There is usually only one reason.
I hope this information is useful and provides an overview.

The end of our lease is in April and we will be searching for another place to rent due to their lack of communication of mother staff of this company. I have many issues with them however I will not report them until after I receive my deposit back. After renting thru them for two years I have never been late at any time and yet they still communicate poorly IMO.
I will not use this company again and I would encourage anyone who is considering using there services really investigate their treatment of their tenets.
I will be doing another review here after I see if they will be giving our deposit back.
It’s up to Frontier property management if they want a better review from me.
My recommendation up to now is to save your time and money and rent from a private person.

Doesn’t matter much to me anymore. You were such a pain to deal with. Never held true to your word before why should it matter now. I live elsewhere now and have a new neighbor who is a client of yours as well. No better truth than from past clients. I totally agree with comments from previous postings. I would definitely not suggest Frontier to anyone.
We had our property managed by them for a couple years. They made promises that they never delivered. They said they will take pictures before and after every move; they didn’t. They didn’t examine the property when tenants move out. They charged us maintenance here and there, but they did lousy jobs, even the tenants ended up finishing painting themselves! They charged us hundreds for the job they didn’t do.
From my experience, Frontier was dishonest and we totally felt cheated. Be aware if you are thinking of doing business with them.

I am a renter with frontier and I am very pleased with them. They are willing to work with you. They are not slumlords they are very nice people and I would defiantly recommend them to anyone. I have rented from them for two years and like I said I have had great customer service. If I’ve ever ran into a problem with anything that had to do with frontier they were very understanding and did everything they could to help me work it out and figure out a solution. Anytime something needed to be looked at on the property they made a appointment with us and came right over. I would defiantly recommend frontier to anyone who asked. I think they are wonderful professional people and I think there property management company is a great idea because it keeps the renters who like to abandon destroy or just skip out on there rent and it protects the landlord and there rights and property. If I owned a property I would defiantly trust frontier to handle my property for me. We had neighbors down the road that partied at all hours of the night and would get so drunk that they would destroy the others neighbors personnal property and thanks to frontier they put a stop to it. The gave me there personnel information to contact them at anytime of the night I heard a party going on. Since They did that there is no more disturbances or vandalism at night. So all you who feel its mature to slam frontier should maybe sit and think about what you guys have done to violate the contract you have with frontier because I have the same contract for two years and they’ve been absolutely wonderful!

Beware of the two 5 star ratings… those are employees of the company posting.

I am an owner that made the mistake to use them for my property management. They are completely unprofessional. They don’t return messages. They find petty repairs and cleaning services to hand their other businesses business (you don’t have a say in who they use for «small» repairs.) They charged me 150 to clean a stove that was never used. They charged me 300 to fix a leak without my permission. It took me 4 months of having tenants before I received the full rent amount. If you want to be nickel and dimed with terrible service then this is the property management company for you. The rents they owe me this month are not deposited. I have had several calls in to them for this and no progress has been made. They even tried to repair my roof for storm damage but I caught them when I had the house inspected by another contractor and there was never any damages! Their contract is terrible, the service is terrible, I would have saved more time and money managing my own property! Do not consider this place for your property management needs. If you do, you will remember this review and it will be too late because of the contract. These other positive reviews must be employees or their friends, everyone I have talked to hates this company. I wish I would have listened to the other reviews and others advice.

I am an owner who made the mistake of working with Frontier late last year. That was before I had seen any of these helpful reviews from tenants. My tenants and I have experienced the same complaints about their very lackadaisical approach to maintenance that fellow Unilocalers have mentioned.
My contract was supposed to end in December but Frontier did such a poor job of keeping their maintenance promises that I complained in writing back in September and got out of my contract on October 1 three months early.
These last three weeks I have been very busy tending to the maintenance requests that my tenants asked for (in writing as their front desk person requested) but that never got done. More about that later… Let me first just sympathize with all the tenants who have written to complain. My tenants also made repeated maintenance requests beginning the week after they moved in. It turns out that they were moving from another Frontier-​managed property that had become moldy and had habitability issues that Frontier had failed to address in a timely manner.
To switch for a minute to the owner’s perspective, they are quick to take and keep your tenant’s deposit (and your owner’s capital) but slow to return it. My contract with them ended October 1 and I have not yet received any of the funds they were holding in my behalf. As usual, their mistakes have caused delays. They are simply careless. Belatedly my property manager tells me that on Sept. 23 she emailed me a closing agreement to sign, but that never arrived (probably sent to the wrong email). She never accompanied that email with the courtesy of a phone call to say it was coming. Then twelve days later when she began to wonder why I never responded, she finally checks in with another email, this time one I received. When I open the document, I see that she had carelessly written up for the wrong address and the wrong contract! Her excuse for that was that three other owners were ending their contracts that month and she must have gotten us confused. As usual, the mistakes are theirs but we owners and our tenants are expected to put up with their inefficiency.
When Frontier finally got the paperwork straight, I assumed that they would released my funds immediately but no! I have yet to see the deposits and owners capital they held for me. After all the delay caused by their own inept handling, they were unwilling to shell out for express delivery of a check and still I wait. At this point I’d like them to pay interest on that money because I am paying out of pocket for getting people to do the repairs that their maintenance people were always too busy to do.
Back to the problem with how Frontier does maintenance … First problem is that they take a tenant-​hostile attitude. When my tenant came in with a complaint that his fridge leaked on the floor, the maintenance supervisor coldly told him that it was not the owner’s responsibility to maintain the fridge. Had Frontier simply called me to see how I felt about it, I would have said «please fix that fridge immediately. I want my tenants to be satisfied that they have a working fridge without having to mop up around it every time they walk into the kitchen. AND I don’t want the kitchen floor to become soft and dry-​rotted and to need to have my linoleum replaced simply because I am not obligated to keep that fridge running for them.»
Frontier’s staff need to make a serious attitude adjustment about maintenance. Instead of assuming that owners want to get by with as little work done as possible, they need to take tenant’s maintenace issue much more seriously.
My experience is that only emergencies get immediate response from their over-​burdened maintnenace staff. (Note — part of the problem may be that most contractors do not want to work with them. The maintenance guy I had been using for three years was hesitant to enter the unit as soon as it went under Frontier’s management though willing to do jobs on the places they were not maintaining. I should have taken that as a clue.
In late summer my property manager made a very thorough list of all my tenant’s complaints and then told me these things would be fixed immediately. A week later I checked back with my tenants and nothing had been done. When I checked with Frontier, the response was «oh, the guy who does the maintenance took a week’s vacation and only the emergency stuff could be handled until he got back.» My reaction to that was 1) why not communicate with me about the delay? 2) why do you guys only have one handyman who can manage repairs for all the properties under your control and 3) I’ve had one too many broken promises from Frontier and it’s time to get out of my contract.
It’s potentially a good thing for current tenants dealing with Frontier that four of us owners ended contracts last month. Now maybe the few maintenance people who willing to work with Frontier will be more available.

We are currently moving out of our rental property because of this company. They DO NOT do their end of the business properly. They don’t return phone calls nor do they follow up when you do get a hold of them on the phone. The typical response is «let me pull your file and call you back». For a year we have struggled to get them to do their job. They also do not process maintenance requests in a timely manner. I’m disappointed in this company because they’re very nice people but the professionalism is far under par! Disappointing for sure.

Frontier Property Management is a great company with fantastic customer service, quick response time, superior knowledge over other management companies and easy to work with. They make you feel at ease when managing your property as you know they will take great care of your home, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable property management company

Nice enough but unprofessional. The young receptionist doesn’t seem to have a clue and no one is in a rush to do anything. In trying to rent a home it’s surprising that they don’t want your application right away and definitely will wait awhile to process their resident screening application. Evidently the homes they are left with at Frontier Management to rent out must not want residents living in them right away… Amazing, in this economy the customer service & lack of professionalism is still incredible.
