Face It

Katrina did an amazing job with my hair! Along with the basic questions of «what do you want today,» she also asked how I style my hair and what kind of products I use. I’m so used to getting a cut with a styling that I’m never able to replicate, but Katrina cut and styled my hair in a way that I’ll totally be able to do on my own. The atmosphere is great and the staff is super friendly. I’m so happy with my haircut and I will absolutely be back.

The girls did a fantastic job on me they were very professional and helpful and the atmosphere was elegant like as if you never wanted to leave looking forward to go back

The stylist didn’t do what my daughter wanted and didn’t barley say one work to her. Not the place to go! I rather go some where else to get a smile and maybe a friendly hello at super cuts!

I’m giving this place two starts because of the receptionist, who was nice enough to work with me at moving my makeup and hair appointment to another day when my photography session got rained out.
As for the salon, I cannot say enough about how disappointed I was with the makeup application I got at Face It. I was testing out the establishment for possible bridal makeup, so I went to see a makeup artist for my engagement photos, thinking the makeup would be somewhat similar for both (since wedding and engagement photos were at the same venue). I told the makeup artist that I’m super low key, the venue is low key and outdoor, I don’t usually wear much makeup, I never wear foundation, and I hate the ‘caked on’ look. I make sure to stress to her that I don’t want to look ‘made up,’ and that I want super natural looking makeup. She proceeds to paint me up like a cheap hooker. My eyebrows were massive and dark (I pluck them to be relatively thin), she put one what felt like a pound of foundation, which didn’t look natural at all, and the fake eyelashes that she used were so obscene that you wouldn’t even wear them to go clubbing in Vegas. Basically, I looked horrible. Not only that, but by the time I got home one set of eyelashes had fallen almost completely off. I took a picture of my face, then ran home and washed all that garbage off and proceeded to just do my makeup myself. I am no expert at makeup, and I do very little on a daily basis, but damn if my own application didn’t look 1000 times better than the makeup done by Face It. That’s not a testament to my skills as much as it is a reflection on what this ‘professional’ did. I was super disappointed.
On top of that, I was very clear with them that I was trying them out for bridal makeup. However, there was no follow up by the salon or by the makeup artist herself. They clearly don’t want my business, and I will warn everyone who ever needs makeup done away from this place. They were horrible.

Ask for Rosie. She knows what she’s doing. She is an educator and she knows what’s best for your hair even when you might not.
Most of the time I go to see her I have some sort of idea of what I want and she makes what I couldn’t describe a reality.
She has a lot of experience and passion that is not easy to miss. She clearly loves her job.
I drive down from Portland to get my hair done by her. There is no one else like her.
So remember, ask for Rosie.

Good prices, very cute décor, and friendly staff. The reason I give 2 stars is because the woman who gave me a facial didn’t seem very educated in the products she was using, she turned on the relaxing music half way through the facial because she forgot, she didn’t completely read my appointment and almost didn’t do my add on to my facial I wanted, and then when it was done I looked in the mirror and I still had a bunch of stuff all over my face and eyebrows. The price was right and she was very nice but I would rather spend a little more for a more professional experience.

Lived here 9 years and have never found a truly professional stylist until now. Ask for Katrina, the owner. If you’ve moved here from a city (Eugene is a town) and are frightened that you’ll have to drive to PDX to have someone great doing your hair, try this place.

I decided I should try a Brazilian and Jennifer was efficient and highly personable. I was really worried about it but it was such a positive experience that I would recommend it to any of my girlfriends!

A great establishment! I was having trouble finding a place in Florence that works with my schedule and can accommodate my latex allergy for a wax, so I started calling around Eugene. Not only could they handle my allergy, but they could see me that day! You can schedule appointments online, too. I’ll happily make the drive to Eugene for a trip to the salon and a nice lunch — there are a lot of great smelling restaurants across the street.

I recently switched to Taylor at Face It! after my stylist moved. I give her my enthusiastic thumbs up.
She’s bright and talented and I really like how my hair looks when she is done.
She’s also Award Winning — she just took the Bronze Medal at a color/​style competition in LA last week.
I was reluctant to post this because I want to always be able to get in for an appointment and don’t want to get shut out by the mobs who should flock to her… but she deserves the shout out.

I can say with absolute certainty that Face It has officially become one of my favorite establishments in Eugene.
I was looking to indulge myself in some girly pampering over the weekend and was thrilled to discover that Face It not only is located in one of my favorite areas, Fifth Street Market, but they also offer everything from haircuts and coloring, manis and pedis, spa treatments and various waxes, to spray tanning and make-​up tutorials.
I placed a call hoping to get more information about this salon and beauty bar and was more than pleased how gracious and informative the assistant was. I believe her name was Emma? Scheduling an appointment was as easy as pie with on the spot availability and flexible hours. I ended up booking an appointment with Jennifer that week.
I am always very cautious when it comes to any kind of skin treatments since I have fair and sensitive skin. Since the purpose of my visit was for a wax, I felt at ease knowing they used a variety of gentle products catering to repairing and replenishing skin and used a combination of soft and hard wax to ensure the best results.
Upon arrival, I couldn’t help but smile at how darling and chic the salon was. While the space is small, it’s wonderfully bright, glittery, and girly, heaven! The décor is chic and elegant with a minimalist feel to it, my fav!
Various display tables and make-​up counters are neatly placed around the room and a row of hairdressing stations are located in the back of the room.
I arrived 15 minutes early for my 12:00 appointment. Kat, the owner, happened to be working the desk that day and was just lovely. She was so friendly and made me feel welcomed immediately. Instead of having to wait, I was introduced to Jennifer right away and ushered into their spa room.
The room had warm lighting and was nicely scented, a full length mirror, and an exceptionally comfortable massage table. I also definitely appreciated the vocals of Beyonce playing at an appropriate volume from the iPhone stereo.
Jennifer is a pro, hands down! Best esthetician I’ve had. I give her my highest recommendation. While I have a high pain tolerance, she certainly knows her stuff, she was quick and made the process as painless as possible. I could not have been happier. Thank you Jennifer!

Took my autistic friend here for a total makeover, hair and waxing. Without even explaining her disability, the whole staff was kind and patient with her. She looked incredible when they were finished, and they even offered some easy to follow tips on how she can keep her new do looking sharp.

I was having my hair cut by Merlin. I find that she is talented and knowledgeable.
However I was growing my hair out to be able to have it cut in a certain style. I gave her the photo each time she cut it, and I would go in at six week intervals to have it «shaped» toward that goal. I believe I had her cut my hair a total of 3 times toward this hairstyle.
On my first consult with her she had said that my hair was finer than the gal in the photo, but absolutely do-​able. The LAST time she cut it, suddenly she was cutting it shorter in areas that I thought I had been growing out for the last 4 + months, I was stumped. However, I thought, «she knows what she’s doing.» When I got home I realized how wrong the cut really was. I called her and the next day she had me come back in. She told me she had cut it like another stylist’s hair in the shop, a short boy cut. She said the stylist loved the cut Merlin had done for her. Cute, but not what I’d asked for. She said the reason she cut my hair this other way was my hair was too thin for the haircut in the photo. She had not consulted with me, she just took it upon herself to change cuts.* It was bizarre.* I had handed her the photo of the haircut before I sat down in the chair as usual, and I thought it was okay.
After another 2 months, I was in Florida on business, I went to a J.C. Penny’s and had it styled exactly how it should be, a cute asymmetrical razor cut. It is cute, and the woman worked around the odd angles Merlin had cut my hair.
In hindsight I realize Merlin was like that with my daughter one day, but the haircut simply wasn’t as detailed as the prior cut. That happens with stylists. So we shrugged it off. However the changing my haircut without consulting me was just too much.

After putting cream rinse on my hair, the stylish went away without saying anything, she went inside chatting with other employees! And left me alone sitting in the lobby for an hour! That’s totally insane! Super irresponsible and rude! Every employee was sitting on the back chatting, and I’m the only person sitting in the lobby. Plus, they didn’t give me my ideal color, and I’m the only customer for the whole afternoon! Won’t come back again.

Unlike the last salon I went to, I didn’t have to wait 3 mos. for an appointment! Also, after being a little disappointed with my last cut, I was really nervous about where to go next. I read some of the reviews on here and took the plunge. I got an appointment with Merlin for the next afternoon! (I went in early afternoon on a weekday).
Even though I had some trouble finding parking (they were tearing up the street that day, right in front of the shop!) and arrived late, everyone was very nice about it. I also have a severe hearing loss, and travel with a large service dog. Everyone there was very accommodating and made us feel right at ease.
Merlin was great, very friendly, listened to what I wanted and what fit my lifestyle. She showed me some pictures and after taking as much time as we needed to pick a style, gave me a very relaxing shampoo and a fabulous cut, one that really works for ME!
I have really difficult, super thick hair with some odd cowlicks to work with, but Merlin still managed to tame my mop into something stylish, yet low maintenance.
I’ve gotten lots of complements on my fabulous hair cut. I Definitely recommend her!

Ashley is amazing at coloring my hair! First she did my highlights which were beautiful and now I wanted more of a blonde look and she nailed it again. She always gives me exactly what I’m looking for and thats hard to find in stylists. She cuts hair very well and is friendly. I wouldn’t even think twice about going to anyone else.
Taylor did my sisters hair, and my sister loved her. She wanted to go lighter then what taylor did but taylor gave her recommendations and my sister followed them and taylor produced a beautiful hair color. It wasnt as light as my sister envisioned but Taylor did such a good job my sister was actually happier with this color then the lighter color she was hoping to get.
Just nice people all around here. I highly recommend this place, especially Ashley and Taylor!

I second Anastassia. Jennifer is quick and through and not as painful as it can usually be. If you need a wax in Eugene, Call Jennifer!

I have loved shopping their make up, the shopping display is really cute. I had my eyebrows done her once though and it took forever, and didn’t look bad, but just didn’t look that good either.
