Not Happy… The owner of Modern told us 3 months ago that the chair we ordered may take 2 months to get, and it is now 3 months. She also told us 2 weeks ago that the chair would be in Eugene in a week. No follow up, no customer service skills and a bit of an attitude.
Not ever going there again.

Poor selection, a bit pretentious and ridiculously expensive. We ended up getting our stuff online at a much lower price point and better delivery timeline. Sometimes when someone tries to tell you how cool their furniture is by referencing LA, maybe they should pause and ask if you’ve been living in LA for the last 15 years before blabbing on and on.

I could not recommend a store more highly than I do Modern. The owner, Denise, who has exquisite taste, has managed to search and select unique items from Oregon, the U.S. and around the world at affordable prices. With Denise’s guidance, my husband and I furnished our home almost entirely from Modern, taking advantage of several furniture lines carried by the store. We purchased furniture and beautiful accessories, all very different and one of a kind from lighting, clocks, vases, artwork, pillows, throws, mobiles, and rugs. The best thing about buying modern furnishings is that it works successfully with different styles. But, my personal weakness is jewelry and I rarely buy anywhere else. Her large jewelry inventory, purchased locally, from Etsy and from worldwide travels, is constantly changing and is offered in various price ranges. There is jewelry for everyone from casual to the workplace to black-​tie events. Modern also supports University of Oregon design student works of furniture and jewelry. I have purchased several student pieces that are amazing. And finally Denise carries a selection of purses, wallets, watches, desk accessories, cameras, design books, kitchen and bath items, dinnerware and glassware, bar accessories, cards, wrapping paper, eye glasses, picture frames and children’s room accessories. It is a great place to find that special gift for any occasion and also a fun place to browse.

I simply love this place. I personally don’t think of Modern as a furniture store (space is limited), but more of an accent store. You will find nothing gaudy here. This spot is for the ultra-​modernist, the mid-​century modern enthusiast of today, the lover of minimalism… you get the picture. I’ve bought something here almost every time I’ve visited; a neon green chair I couldn’t resist from a German designer, yellow candle holders that are the coolest I’ve ever seen anywhere, a mobile straight out of an issue of Atomic Ranch. Modern is pricey, but hey… this style is rather exclusive and elitist anyway, I don’t think there’s any arguing that.

This store is unbelievably adorable! I gush at everything I see. But unfortunately it’s too pricey for my budget.
I went with my girlfriends and they went bananas over the cameras. They even have film for my Fuji Instax mini polaroid!

It is unlikely I would go anywhere else in Eugene for gifties. And by «gifties», I mean, things to buy for myself.
In the same complex as Café Lucky Noodle, Modern sits quietly waiting for you to check ‘em out. Great selection of cool and unusal items for the home, with price ranges from college kid to trophy wife.
Nice, bright store with a fun layout, friendly staff; recommend.

Damn this store is cool. I’ve always gazed in the windows when i’m out drinking at either of the surrounding establishments. Sure, i’m kinda shwilly, but I still have impeccable taste. This place does it for me. They got all kinda nifty stuff that looks real Purdy and stylish. If I were in a higher tax bracket I’d spend more money here.

Cool store. I love the jewelry here. They have a great selection of earrings, necklaces, and watches at surprisingly reasonable prices. You will also find a couple of pieces of furniture, kitchen and household stuff (clocks, silverware, lamps, etc), and toys. I love shopping here for gifts (even if they are just for myself…).

This place is super cute. They have the cutest stuff from things for the kids room to things for your dining room set. I almost bought a cute salt and pepper shaker that were two monkeys. They had some cool alarm clocks too. Too bad i was flying back home and i didn’t know was it considered an item that was safe to carry back. The staff members here are all super nice. The only set back is that some of their items were a bit to pricey for me. But I guess if you want a modern look to your house there is a price to pay.
