Words cannot describe how amazing Erik Verdouw is. Erik does physical and manual therapy on humans and animals. He works on horses, cats, dogs, birds of prey, and is willing to work on any species of animal. I have taken one of my cats to see him twice and couldn’t believe the experience and results. Previously, my cat’s behavior at the vet is one of pure anxiety, uncharacteristic aggression triggered from fear, and generally horrendous. For him to be examined, I’ve been told my pet would need to be sedated and the estimate for diagnostic work was exorbitant. Compare that with an appointment with Erik, whose soothing energy is absorbed by his nonhuman patients in a matter of moments. In the exam room, my cat was quiet but alert, and allowed Erik to gently work on his spine and hindquarters. It was very interesting and almost magical to witness the sessions as Erik is so gentle and subtle in his body work. His method of treating the whole animal, as everything is interconnected, and his communication via his touch is highly effective and not threatening to the animal. Long story short, my kitty had a screwed up spine. Erik helped release several vertebrae and improved his spinal flexibility considerably. The body work he did at the initial appointment has not regressed back to a place of poor alignment. My cat is doing so much better in terms of movement and agility, and is much more active and seems less irritable.
