We were in on Saturday for breakfast with the kids and grandson. You can imagine my surprise when my request for my usual pigs in a blanket made with chocolate pancakes was refused. I’ve eaten this breakfast here for years and happily paid the chocolate pancake up charge. Service has never been their strong suit here and now this. We won’t be back.

Our 1st time here and everything was on point! Fluffy biscuits and gravy… Eggs benedict with suttle hollidaise sauce… and the French toast was delish! I’m not a big coffee drinker but it was good too. We will def come again.

I am generally pretty happy about the food choices in here. I have had pancakes, omelettes and eggs benedict, all tasted delicious in my opinion. We always had to wait for a bit before getting seated, but the customer service is always great. There was a time when I wanted to switch my toast/hash browns to apple pancakes, but I could only have the original with what I ordered. The server offered to let me have a side of apples to make them into apple pancakes anyway. It feels great when servers can accommodate your needs instead of just saying no. Kudos to everyone who works there!

BEST crepes maybe ever, delicious selection for the crepes as well! The servers and staff are always friendly, this is my favorite early morning spot. It is not obnoxiously crowded like some of the other breakfast establishments or overrun with obnoxious kids, it is a quieter and much more comfortable atmosphere. You can carry on a conversation and enjoy your food without having to speak loudly(off the… lol)… Thanks for great service and food!

My first foray to the pancake house was on a Sunday morning– a single — and I had to wait at least 20min. OK, on a Sunday morning, the wait was no surprise. The coffee was barely warm, and you are charged over $ 2. for your coffee. The«Swedish Style» pancakes, really an egg– batter crêpe and passable, were served with a small scoop of purple horror that was supposed to be comprised of lingonberries and butter. It had no flavor, and a disturbing artificial color. I am certain that, whatever this horrific mélange is comprised of, it would survive a nuclear holocaust. My side of sausage links was shriveled and lukewarm, betraying a long wait at the starting was extremely loud in the restaurant and the service was just OK… not a happy customer.

Came here on a Sunday morning. Waited 15 mins for a table. No problem, the food is generally pretty good and it’s a weekend. However, what wasn’t cool was the fact that after we were seated, we waited another 10 mins for our server to come to our table. We spoke to the manager about possible solutions to the problem and we were given a list of excuses and no apology for the poor reception. In fact, the manager informed us that perhaps we should’ve said we were ready to order to avoid a longer wait time. I’ve worked in the restaurant/customer service industry for years and NEVER is it ok to put the responsibility of the err on the customer! I was appalled at the lack of skills, caring and overall concern for customer satisfaction. Add that to the sink water that tasted of old pipes, the fly that kept circling our table the 30 minute wait time for the food after we placed our order, the not so fresh fruit, the burnt English muffin and the fact that my hard earned dollar doesn’t seem to be appreciated here, we won’t be returning!

Good stuff. Two eggs and Pancakes was all I needed and it kicked ass. The eggs were done perfectly to order and the pancakes were nice, fluffy, and melted in your mouth. This place has Grapefruit juice. It’s seriously hard to find breakfast places that carry it these days. Great food at affordable prices. Definitely recommended.

We got here at 1:30pm on a Friday and were seated right away. I ordered the bacon and cheese omelette, my mom had the Belgium waffle, wife had the green chili omelette. The coffee was hot and fresh and they brought it in a carafe. I wish they had sugar in the raw. The syrup was hot and our meals were tasty. It was a good meal and we will be back.

I really like the breakfast food here. It’s just somehow a little bit better. Definitely down home cooking in a down home restaurant. There’s a big menu and daily specials, so you can get things like a breakfast burrito or potato pancakes(fav).

Went for breakfast today, had ham, eggs, potatoes and toast. It was good better than Shari’s down the street, but no crepes on the menu is the only downside!

I don’t know where to begin with this place. We stopped because the lot was full and we decided to try it out. We were seated and across from us I was uneasy because of the tweaker looking patrons giving me a stare down. Not the restaurants fault but still made me feel what did we get ourselves into here. I saw the«German pancakes» so I assumed and hoped it was similar to my favorite crêpe’s so I asked and it was. Of course I asked them to hold all of the weird garb and just had the butter and powder sugar like a normal person. I don’t like the extra stuff like berries or jelly it just seems a bit much or weird. I’m a Dutch Indonisian girl who loves crêpe’s. Now my other half ordered an omelet which he usually does when we go out for breakfast, and he said this was the worst omelet he has had! I’m pretty sure it was a ham and cheese because that’s what is his norm and that is hard to make bad!!! I also want to mention that I added a sausage link and an egg with my crêpe and the egg tasted like it was over loaded with salt and the link was so gross and looked like it came from the south end of a dog! The bathroom was gross! We had to wait a while for our check we almost just walked up to the counter! The good… I really liked my hot cocoa!!! It’s safe to assume on this review that we will not be returning customers!!!

I love chicken fried steak. Theirs was terrible it was like an old shoe thrown on a plate with a terrible gravy slopped on it. Dari mart canned gravy is better than the gravy served here. Don’t waste your money go to addi’s in springfield its worth the extra gas to make the trip.

Two stars for the«European style«French(with marmalade) pancakes and three stars for the regular pancakes. The European style pancakes usually are called crepes, but the large serving of unevenly cooked, cooking oil flavored, very thin pancakes soaked in a watery imitation of orange marmalade were not crepes; is this why they were called«European style? The wife said her regular pancakes were okay. The service was good at this popular restaurant but the coffee was indifferent.

Not going back. Ever. I was so hopeful, especially since they ‘specialize’ in breakfast. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and even with an empty-ish house they sat us right next to the door(it’s 15 degrees out!) so I couldn’t even take my coat off for our meal. My boyfriend ordered a strawberry lemonade and the host comes back with a cup of strawberry syrup with a little ice and a little lemonade. My boyfriend likes things sweet, much sweeter than my bitter preferences, and it was so thick and syrupy he didn’t even drink it. He ordered a sausage and ham omelet, and I the eggs benedict with a side of toast. His omelet was so smothered in cheese(normally a good thing) that it was sitting in a puddle of grease. The hollandaise was so salty I’m pretty sure it had three days worth of the recommended sodium allowance, and the ‘butter’ on my toast was definitely far from butter. Not sure what the giveaway was there — the bright pee yellow color, or the fact that I had to smother the toast with jam packets to make it semi edible. Their only saving grace was the fact that I was ravenous(happens during pregnancy) and their hashbrowns were perfect. I mean perfect, and the only reason it deserves the one star I have to give it. I would compare this place to a Dennys or Shari’s. Basically if you like mass amounts of grease, hydrogenated oil on your ‘buttered’ toast, and hollandaise sauce from a can, go here. If you’re actually looking for a quality meal with real ingredients I recommend driving straight by. We will never cheat on our favorite breakfast joint — the glenwood — again. No matter what the weather.

Definitely nothing special about this place. I’ve been eating here for 17 years now, and the best I can say for it… is that it’s close to home, open early, and consistently very average. The portions aren’t very generous(but then again, I eat for three), but it’s enough to hold you over a while. All things considered, It’s a great place to go for a bite and some hot coffee. Just don’t expect amazing food and/or service.

A decent place for basic breakfast. The pancakes and various egg and bacon style fare are exactly what you’d expect. They make some good sandwiches as well. The service is friendly and the prices are mid range. It won’t knock your socks off but this place beats any of the major chains any day.

I always enjoy swinging in for a yummy breakfast here. The place always seems to be very busy & for obvious reasons. The food & service is great. It’s also a good place for kids cuz of the noise level. Lots of families & couples chatting away enjoying the tasty food.
