Meet the Business Owner

Crystal Estelle D.

Business Owner

I’m a mother, grandmother, and a former elementary teacher who is incredibly passionate about the textile arts. I learned to knit, crochet, embroider & sew as a child and in my late teens discovered spinning, weaving and dyeing. I’ve been hooked ever since. My children grew up in a studio environment as there wasn’t room for both living room furniture, looms and spinning wheels plus all their accompanying equipment.

I’ve been a member of my local weaving and spinning guild for 30 years. I’ve taught textile arts for about the same length of time and had a commission spinning business in my twenties. I decided to buy Boll Weaver in 1998 (I quit teaching in the public school system to be a shop owner) because I couldn’t live without a local resource for my textile passion. Sadly, the economy slumped for so long I had to close the storefront in 2012. However, folks meet with me in my home for lessons.

I now run a Textile Arts Program for the Blue Ox Community School for 13 – 18 yr olds.
