History

Established in 2001.

After nearly twenty years in the fashion apparel industry, during which time I served as Fashion Director for (the former) Marshall Fields, I transitioned into the world of retail home furnishings. During that time period, several retail clients approached me to do design work for them independently. I realized that the need existed and launched my own decorating business bringing with me my vast experience in design and superior customer service.

Jeanne LaCasse, Decorator, Artist, Photographer, Traveler.

I learned about color at the foot of my artist Father; was always walking around with crayons and colored pencils in my pockets, organized an art camp for neighborhood kids in Jr. High and painted my way through High School, College and Art School.

My love of photography goes back to my teens. Upon graduation from High School, my father gave me my first SLR and my life changed. I saw things differently when viewing the world through a lens. «In my opinion, you cannot say you have thoroughly seen something if you haven’t taken a photograph of it.» Emile Zola. Years later as Fashion Director, I shot street & runway fashions in Paris, London, New York, Milan, Tokyo.

Now, my camera serves as a travel journal; a record that triggers fond memories of not only the visual, but the aroma, texture and tempo of the world that I have been privileged to visit. All of this brings itself to bear on what I bring to the design process.
