I usually pay more attention to reviews when I order but I once again ignored it and highly regret my decision. I ordered a pupu platter for 1 and it was very disappointing. I thought with the low price where could I go wrong but somehow it ended up being over 20 $ with delivery charges and what not that I did not see mentioned on the menu. As for the food: the dough of the chicken finger and 1 shrimp finger were too sweet and very soft. No crunch whatsoever and the shrimp all came out in one bite. The beef teriyaki tasted like plain ginger on a stick and as for the chicken wings, it just tasted odd. I didn’t even eat them. Usually you can make everything taste good with duck sauce but this duck sauce tasted like the ones out of the packet. Gross. Not to mention for it being only a 10 minute drive. It took about an hour to arrive. Very very disappointed. Won’t order here again.

Delivery was reasonably fast but I had asked for extra duck sauce and they forgot to put them in the bag. So then they come back with the duck sauce but it’s not what I consider real Chinese food duck sauce, it’s the weird orange radioactive looking stuff. The chicken fingers were also not good, the breading has a weird taste and smell, and there’s just way too much of it! We also didn’t receive any fortune cookies . That’s like my favorite part of getting Chinese.

Order food from here yesterday 11÷21÷15. When the food got here it was cold! However it got arrived quickly. I order pork fried house, chicken fingers, boneless spare ribs, and crab ragoon. The pork fried house had NO pork, the boneless spare ribs were very chewy, and the crab ragoon was BURNT! The highlight was the chicken fingers. If you want real good Chinese food Billy Tse’s in Revere is the place to go!!!

Such a disappointment :(the shrimp fried rice was bland that my fiancé ordered. I ordered chicken chow mein and was looking forward to yummy chicken with noodles and ended up with something completely different. It was like chicken with green onions and bean sprouts in some sort of broth :(I feel like the delivery guy knew it was wrong too since he ran off so fast. Egg rolls were mediocre at best. Honestly the best thing about this meal were the fortune cookies. I’m super sad about my missing chow mein :(

This place is mediocre if you’re looking for traditional Taiwanese food but the service and delivery is pretty decent.

This place is still satisfying. Like many restaurants certain things are better than others. Disappointing is the ‘jumbo shrimp’ which are not jumbo shrimps. They are beaten and made to look large with a heavy helping of batter. Things enjoyed– egg foo yong, sesame chicken and lomein, chicken wings and fingers are good as well. Super fast delivery all the time and prices make sense. Definitely my go to Chinese food place.

sigh… this place, just… no. a couple weeks ago, hungover and in need of our sunday chinese fix, i made a horrifying discovery: our beloved jing’s garden was strangely closed for the day according to foodler. but did i dare pick up — gasp — a TELEPHONE to double check that shiz? heck no! we decided to risk it all and go double or nothing on fortune garden. they were close by and the reviews seemed promising, so we rolled the dice. and i wish we hadn’t. in descending order: scallion pancakes: a generous portion and very enjoyable, lots of scallions. shrimp fried rice: average/good, and they give you a mountain of it. but… there are peas and carrots in it! why massachusetts, why? who taught you this? please stop. crab rangoon: cold and the filling was pretty dry but flavor was okay. beef teriyaki: for $ 6.50, the shriveled little strips that arrived were pretty sad, but edible… sort of. if you’re desperate. egg roll: this would have been fine… IF they didn’t use some very weird and very noticeable spice in it that i would put on the cinnamon/mulled wine spectrum of spices. the only time in my life i’ve thrown out an egg roll. sesame chicken & general gau’s chicken: BOTHHORRIBLE. the worst i’ve ever had. nearly every piece in both dishes was a burnt, hard, funny shaped hollow shell of breading with no meat inside. you know, like sometimes you get this one weird piece at the bottom of an order that was the last of the tray? well that was all the pieces. the few pieces that did contain«meat» were stringy, dry as the desert, and… weird. really off putting. like spit it into a napkin like you’re jerry seinfeld trying to enjoy your girlfriend’s mutton off putting. i would not be at all surprised to learn they found some scraps on the floor that they had cooked two months ago, re-fried them and sent them to us. the sesame chicken was listed as spicy for some reason but it was not. the general gau’s was not listed as spicy and… also wasn’t. which brings me to: their foodler menu is jacked up. the choices for combination plates should be consistent across the board. they weren’t. the only reason i ordered sesame chicken to begin with was because it was the only way to choose my rice and get the appetizer i wanted.(i would have gotten sweet and sour chicken.) and the choices for general gau’s were different again from the other two. i will say that the driver was on time and very pleasant, even held the door and closed it behind me when my hands were full. but so much of the food was inedible that we won’t be back.

Since moving to East Boston, I haven’t found better Chinese delivery than Fortune Garden.(And, yes, they deliver all the way to Eastie.) The prices are decent, especially given that the portions are huge and usually last two or three meals for me. The food is good(I recommend the General Gao chicken and crab rangoon — very tasty) and the delivery is timely. It’s become my go-to for delivery.

I ordered from them on grubhub. And it was the best chinese food I’ve had since moving to Boston! The delivery was fast and quick and the food was delicious! I didn’t even mind the $ 4 delivery fee because it was that good. I will definitely be ordering from them in the future!

Ordered from here on a Wednesday night through foodler and my food arrived within 30 minutes. However, the sweet and sour chicken was DOUSED in sauce– this is the first place I have EVER ordered from where they put it ON the chicken. I called back and asked if that was their policy and was told yes, it was… and to note that I wanted it on the side the next time I ordered. He sounded frazzled so I thanked him and hung up. 10 minutes later, a lady arrived at my door with a completely remade meal with the sauce on the side– without me even asking the restaurant sent it over. For that, alone you have my business. The food is standard Americanized Chinese food. Nothing fancy, nothing special, but large portions and tasty. I had chicken with snowpeas and it was very good. My children had the above mentioned sweet and sour chicken and beef lo mein. Standard, yes, but good. Eggrolls were better than most– the cabbage wasn’t soggy and there were nice chunks of pork throughout. Outside was nice and crispy, too. My kids also had crab rangoon(which I am not a fan of) and ate it all with no complaints so I’m guessing it was good, as well. Overall I was very satisfied. It was delivered quickly, arrived piping hot, and of course, there was the redelivery of the dish I was unhappy with.

BADNEWS: UNDERNEWOWNERSHIP We used to love Fortune Garden. They had the best food for everything. Huge portions, great prices, open late, fast delivery and the woman on the phone was really friendly, understood English very well and never made a mistake. When I called tonight, it was a different woman… Our food cost $ 15 more than usual and when it arrived, it was about 50% less food. The food is all different; everything, even the duck sauce is now that cheap sweet and sour sauce. All the items were smaller, overcooked(some was undercooked), reeked of old fry oil as soon as I opened the bag. Not a single item was the same as it used to be. Even the containers are different. I called back and asked if they were under new ownership and the woman said yes, for about a month. She said the prices didn’t change on the menu(I suspect the increase was due to making substitutions on the pu-pu platter which used to be free and the fact that I also had a coupon from their menu which gives a free lo mein, and I told her on the phone, but they charged me for it anyway). Anyway, she just tried to rush me off the phone when I was giving her some feedback on the changes. I wasn’t being rude at all, just trying to make the point that the old style was awesome and all the new stuff was cheap and bad(not even having the right duck sauce, come on!) And it’s not just it being«different» that put me off — the spare ribs(which taste the same in 90% of Chinese takeout) tasted flavorless, as did the beef teriyaki(which a pu-pu platter for 2 only comes with 1 beef teriyaki apparently), the lo mein was really garlicy for some reason, the chicken fingers very pale/undercooked, the chicken wings were dry/overcooked and small(like everything else). The pork fried rice was pale and had more ‘stuff’ in it than actual rice. We have a large bowl we usually dump all the food into and with the old Fortune Garden, it would overfill the bowl. The same order with the new one and it was half empty. The peking raviolis came with 2 containers of soy sauce which were upside down in the box and emptied out all over the place. Anyway, a massive downgrade since the new ownership. It’s the worst Chinese takeout you can get, the same kind you buy off a truck or worse. We would order once a month or so and it was always great. We’ll never go back now. If anyone knows where the old owners set up shop, please share! As for the ‘new’ Fortune Garden: Stay away.

My girlfriend, her seventeen year old(read: will eat anything) brother, and I ordered from here the other night. We got the usual collection of food(wings, fingers, fried rice, etc.). To start, the rice tasted funny, so we each had about a forkful and then ignored it. The wings looked unappealing enough where I did not touch them(the others did not enjoy them), and the chicken fingers were puffy bits of fried with flavorless chicken inside. I hate to trash a small place but I will never again get food from here after we threw out most of our order.

Really great prices, open late, above average for this area meaning exactly what you’d expect for mainline american chinese food, and for that, they get 4 stars. Standby’s: Orange Chicken Crab Rangoon Scallion Pancake Been inside the store once, people were really nice.

I’m honestly shocked at the negative reviews. I think I’ve finally found my go-to chinese delivery after some mediocre and some terrible experiences. I ordered Fortune Garden on Sunday around 5PM on and it came in about 40 minutes. I ordered two combo meals — sesame chicken/fried rice/boneless spare ribs and chicken lo mein/egg roll/boneless spare ribs, as well as a small egg drop soup. I also got a free small order of crab rangoons with my $ 20 order(this feast actually came to $ 21 and change not including the $ 2 delivery charge and tip). Everything was really fantastic and cheap. The egg drop soup was very flavorful. The sesame chicken was actually big hunks of white meat, as opposed to small pieces of over-fried mystery meat, and the sauce was great. The lo mein wasn’t dry and wasn’t in a pool of oil and actually tasted pretty damn good. The rangoons had a distinct crab(or, more likely, krab) flavor. No more searching for good chinese delivery for me, Fortune Garden has my business!

I’m not a big fan of Americanized Chinese food. I didn’t feel like driving and decided to order out. I ordered pork fried rice with chicken wings, crab ragoon, lobster sauce, and peking ravioli. The delivery was fast so I gave a generious tip. The rice didn’t taste right like it was dumped in cooking oil and not enough hoisin sauce. The lobster sauce was very watery. The crab Rangoon was dry including the stuffing. The Peking ravioli was very dry. First and last, I guess I can say it’s take out. What more should I ask for right.

I was really hoping to give this place 3 stars but there was just no way after this meal. I was attracted to this place because it is in my neighborhood and the prices were way affordable! The menu included meals for $ 6.75 that came with an appetizer, you can choose your type of rice and also an extra appetizer! I wasn’t expecting a huge meal but doesn’t that sound filling?! Well the food came pretty promptly, we ordered two meals sweet & sour chicken w/fried chicken, fried rice and beef teriyaki. I ordered the sesame chicken w/crab rangoon, fried rice and spare ribs. Out of my meal the part I enjoyed the most was the spare ribs, and there were only 4 of them. The crab rangoon would come second, it was boring not very tastful but it came with some sauce to dip in and I think that gave it some type of flavor. The next item that was terrible would be the sesame chicken AND the rice. Neither had any type of flavor, it was like eating air. I didn’t even ask my boyfriend what he liked after he bit into the chicken he said«ugh I’m done» and put it down. I don’t really recommend this place to anyone. I won’t be ordering from here ever again.
