I had a great experience purchasing a new Honda Fit from salesguy Ataan! I came to Honda of Boston because they offered the best price promise (by far) on Edmunds, and I preferred the up front transparency to lengthy negotiation. Ataan was friendly, knowledgeable, and he went out of his way to make the transaction easy, including picking my boyfriend up from the T the next day when the registration was ready so he could drive the car home.

What’s the point in making an appointment online if you’ll still need to wait 2 hours for other people to go ahead of you.

Our sales representative Ataan was a great guy and very knowledgeable about the cars my wife drove. We first were looking into getting an Accord but needed the AWD and the cargo capability. The prices were fair and competitive. Coming from California, documentation fees are capped at $ 65. Here in Massachusetts (where it’s suppose to be «progressive»), has no limits. After going from dealership to dealership, Honda of Boston had the lowest doc fees. So overall, great deal, great experience, and Ataan was great. He followed up, called up, and took care of a lot!
This 5 star rating was given based on the experience we got comparatively to other dealerships that we’ve gone thru.
Reading from other reviews, looks like Daytrin gave Rohan and Susanna a bad experience.

This has been my worst car buying experience working with Honda Cars of Boston to buy an Accord Touring 2016 beginning of this month. These guys are no were close to being professional. The only reason I ended up here was becuase their price was low but only realized that their service sucks. Let me start with the test drive. Daytrin was the sales guy and pulled the car to test drive. I wanted to test the safety features and when I tried to test the Adaptive Cruise control and the Lane Departure warning, it did not function at all. During the test drive I asked a bunch of feature questions to which he had no answer. When we came back, he told me some fuse was not installed because of which the safety feature did not work. how can this dealer allow a car to be test driven which all features not activated. Now I have been a loyal Honda customer and had had 3 Honda’s before so I knew it was not the car but something wrong with the way the dealership did not check. I like the car and tell Daytrin that I need it in black (which they had to get it from somewhere else which is understandable). I pay the deposit and they tell me to come on Friday (2 days after the test drive) to come followed by confirmation call on Friday morning that the car was ready and come down by noon to complete the paperwork. At this point I even ask him if I can pick the car the same day and he said YES confidently. I go at 12 pm with my family on Friday to their Everett office and he makes me wait 45 mins before he contacts AJ the finance guy. I am sure at this point they are all having their lunch which they could have told as neither me nor my family had lunch yet. During this time Daytrin never bothered to check on us. Then we go to AJ’s office and we start with the paper process. I ask AJ to make sure while running the paper work get Finance rates from Honda Finance and DCU. but he checks only with DCU and not with Honda and I am forced to go with DCU even though I was getting a good rate with Honda Finance, as AJ said he had to do the paper work all over and that would delay the car delivery. So I agree thinking I get to drive my car that Friday evening. Now AJ is in a hurry to finish all th paper work and he said you are picking the car tomorrow right and this is the first time I hear and I say NO I need it today and he calls Daytrin and he said the car won’t be ready till Saturday. I am very annoyed as they gave me a BS reason of accessories needs to be installed, but I was told everything was going to be ready. Anyways I walk out of the office back home with a disappointed family and reach back by 3pm. When I come back home I get a call from AJ at 5pm and he leaves a VM saying my insurance sucks and they have not got back to them. I immediately called my insurance and they said they have sent the papers and I call AJ and he never returns his call (till this day). I am pretty sure AJ sat on the paper work and next day was Saturday with RMV closed they had a reason to not give me a car on Saturday either. I call on Saturday and Daytrin never returns my call then finally in the after noon I get a call that the car is going to be ready by Tuesday evening (almost a week since I test drove the car). When asked Daytrin tells me they don’t have accessories and need to order which they never told me. I was furious at this point but since I didn’t want them to mess up my car I kept quiet. I waited till Tuesday and they didn’t even bother to provide any status till I called and asked if I could come Tuesday afternoon as we were expecting snow that evening. I have an hours drive from my place and he says at 11am, if you can come by noon he can get the car to me and he has an appointment at 12:30pm and can’t promise if I came late. I get my family to get the car and when picking up the car there is no apology whatsoever. he does not go over any features nothing and just pick the keys and drive back. When I reach home I see that the car plates (i had asked for new plates) was 3 months old and I kept texting & calling Daytrin to ask why this was the case and finally after multiple tries he texts me that I should call the dealership office to ask why. My rear vent is not working correctly and he says to call the dealership
I am sorry for this lengthy post but I HAD to share this and I would have given a ZERO rating if there was an option. I do understand delays, but its all about the right attitude and keeping your customer updated with the issues and I am a reasonable person if kept updated. Its been 3 weeks since I bought my car till date there is no call from their office to see how I am doing.
I lost 2 days of work
I had so many other options to buy my car, from other dealerships, who were ready to win my business. These guys at Honda Cars of Boston, don’t care once you sign the papers, their whole attitude changes. I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND OR BUY ANY CARS FROM THESE GUYS. Not sure why they are getting 5 stars.

Definitely the worst car-​buying experience of my life. Avoid this place if you can. They sold us a car that had failed the inspection they did right before we drove off without telling us — just let us drive away in a car that had failed inspection. But from the beginning:
Our sales rep was Daytrin, and we found him to be very disorganized (possibly really inexperienced?) frequently leaving us sitting for ages while he wandered off to do things that should have taken about a minute, like printing something out. He also didn’t really listen to what we had to say and avoided a lot of direct questions. When we asked to see a listing of all their certified Honda Civics on the lot, he came back with some keys and said someone was bringing the first car around for us. Um, we didn’t want to drive a car, we wanted to see a printed listing. Then he said they had too many to list. Huh? You’re telling me you don’t have your inventory recorded anywhere? We came in pretty sure of the car we wanted to buy, but wound up sitting there for two and a half hours while he bumbled around, first quoting us a price that was WAY higher than the price listed on the internet, then trying to gloss over the accident it had been in and not giving us any details (even though the car had been fixed there, so they must have had records of exactly what they did to fix it), and constantly going back and forth to his manager (on some of these trips I noticed him going outside for some reason…) It went on and on — the WORST sales experience I’ve had. At one point Daytrin said we had to go to the financial manager’s office to sign some papers. I said, «We’re sitting at a table right here, and we have a baby with us and a car seat and three coats and a purse and a diaper bag and it would be really convenient if we could just sign the papers here instead of having to move all our stuff into another room and then move it back out again.» He just looked confused, like this was a ridiculous request, and said no, the paper had to be signed in that particular room. Seriously.
BUT the kicker was when we bought the car. They said they’d inspect it and clean it and we could pick it up in the morning. OK, we came at nine like we said we would. Not only was it not done, but they didn’t even start the inspection till noon. Then — get this — when we finally drove off in our car, I opened the glove box and saw the inspection report and it HADN’T PASSED INSPECTION. They sold us a car that hadn’t passed the inspection they had just done an hour ago WITHOUT TELLING US. They just let us drive off. I would certainly not expect any reputable dealer to sell me a car that had not passed inspection — and above all, without letting me know. Blatant dishonesty on top of an extremely frustrating and evasive sales process. Do not go to this Honda dealer.
**** Added later **** So a little while after I posted that review, I got a call from one of the owners, apologizing and asking if there was anything he could do for me. I said I needed the inspection re-​done to make sure the emissions were now OK. He said sure thing, and I should call him the day before I came in for the inspection.
I did call him, and the next day I went there. I had made an inspection appointment for 11 AM, but I was quite early; got there around 10:45. Pulled my car up into the service bay. For about five minutes everyone ignored me as I stood by my car. I said, «Hello» to one guy and he sort of waved towards me while walking away. Finally a service worker came up to me and said he needed to see the registration. And I thought, oh crap, we never put the registration in the car. I said, «I’m really sorry, I don’t have the registration with me.» The guy said, «Well, you’ll have to go back home and get it and then come back.» I said, «I live twenty miles away so that will take a lot of time.» And then I name-​dropped. I said, «I’ve been talking with [one of the owners] about this inspection. Let me call him up.» Just as I was dialing, the service manager came up to my car and said, «Oh, I know all about you! You don’t need your registration. I’ll take care of everything, you’ll be done in twenty minutes.» And he shooed the other guy away.
I went to the waiting area. There were maybe 10 – 12 other people there waiting for their cars to be fixed. In the half hour I waited, not one of them was called. I, the last one to get there, was the first to leave. How much did THAT suck for all those people who were waiting when they got shunted aside so they could finish MY car quickly, because I had written a bad review?
In short: Apparently if you complain loudly enough, you get treated like royalty, but if you’re just Joe Customer, you get lousy service. I find that disgusting. I’ll never go back there.

The first email quote from Rocky was forthcoming direct no nonsense on point that was impressive .
Then he left me good window of time to compare pricing and a nice courtesy follow up. I like his friendly approach, our first phone conversation was sincere and all other required cost were disclosed, Rocky come across to me is a good honesty business person I like to do business with .

Only a first impression, but I shall not be back for another. Very unpleasant experience.
Called them to ask if they have Honda HR-​V in stock for test drive. Salesman on the phone said there were two. One EX– in Red and another LX. He went on to ask if I like EX or LX. When I asked if I could stop by in an hour considering it was day before Thanksgiving, he said they will be open and I should come on by. When I reached the dealership, the floor salesman when told I am looking to test drive a HR-​V, immediately said there are none in stock but he can give me brochures. Having driven all the way not for a brochure, I asked if he could double-​check. He came back after speaking to others and indeed confirmed there was none. I mentioned my afternoon was wasted as I had called several dealers and drove all the way only after I was told there are HRVs in stock. His manager was standing right next to him and casually said it is possible they sold them in the last hour. I asked if indeed he can show me records of selling the two HR-​Vs. He got irritated and said may be they were sold earlier in the day and computers were not updated. I feel they lied on the phone to get an unsuspecting customer to come to the showroom, with the hope perhaps they can sell an alternative car. The worse of it came when I mentioned I had emailed their sales manager also prior to coming and that I will consider writing a Unilocal review.
I started leaving and he followed me to the car. Asked me to roll down the window. He said their Unilocal score is only 2.5 and it is fine for me to tell my negative experience to friends and family but I should refrain from leaving a review on Unilocal.I felt threatened as another manager was milling around my car and this fellow kept trying to convince me not to write a Unilocal review. I can understand there may have been a mistake, the behavior displayed however spoke of a terrible sales culture. Perhaps there is a good reason for other negative reviews and the 2.5 star rating.

The manager here was a complete idiot. One of the sales representatives was nice to me. Once his manager shows up i felt he was very disrespectful. I would never buy a car from here. They also seem sketchy.

Great experience at Honda Cars of Boston, and drove away with my new CRV! Sales rep Ataan was very helpful, not pushy, and patient as we went back and forth on the different models, and manager Joe was great, straight forward and full of humor. Overall a very pleasant time and satisfied purchase.

1. Experience Sales and Service:
I brought my new Honda Odyssey from Honda cars of Boston, Initially I was not Happy with the way sales person and service person handled it. It was a new car and I had some issue which service department was not able to resolve completely, and I got no help from the sales person.
2. Experience Customer Service:
I raised my concerns to the supervisors, Next day I got a call from a person Steve Whalen from customer service department. and I shared my concern and my experience with him. He was so focused on the issue and set up a day to fix it. I got my car back same day and no issue.
There were annoying time and frustrating experience initially at sales and service. However, I was pleased with how smoothly Steve handled the matter. The quality of customer experience is completely dependent on the people your are dealing with. Special thanks to Steve for outstanding customer service, you re-​define the customer service/​experience. I would recommend Honda Cars of Boston to my friends.

In trying to find accountability for the inferior customer service and publicly venting my frustration, I could not help feeling I was just another sales number and shrugged off by the salesmen, business managers and owners. It was only after I posted a poor review on Unilocal,that I was contacted and offered assistance by Samantha, one of the managers. She apologized and attempted to mend fences by offering a free protection package and a refund on floor mats. I do appreciate her trying to appease me and make reparation. In addition, the president of the dealership sent his apologies. Most of this fiasco could have been easily minimized or even avoided with clearer communication, good customer service, and follow-​through. I hope my incident was an exception to the norm, as superior customer service yields successful business.

I just have the worst car shopping experience of my life. Summer clearance sales event my ass ! They are asking for $ 33k for a $ 30k car ! Stop wasting my time and give me all the numbers. So sneaky and treated me like a fool. I want my two hours back so I can just go shopping. Don’t talk to the used car sales manager. I don’t know his name because he never introduced himself. He basically sat down and try to intimidate us into buying with his cocky attitude. Where is this place? If I can give no star I would.

Great experience at this dealership recently, purchased a lease buyout Honda CRV 2012. Oscar, finance manager, did a fantastic job by making the transition very smooth, offered good suggestions and processed the documents in a very timely fashion. Their service center team is also very nice, knowledgeable and helpful.

Steve (service manager) reach out to me the next day and apologized. He offered to credit the service when I come in again.
My issue was not that I had to pay for the service but that I was treated so poorly when initially questioning it. «Are you serious?» repeated over and over is not a great way to show empathy. Also still concerned why I was initially told to call AAA without being asked about my vehicle or asking if I contacted Honda Roadside Assistance (I was less than a mile from the dealership so I just called there first.)

My review is for the sales department. I purchased a pre-​owned 2010 Honda Element from the dealership, and I primarily worked with Ataan. The finance person I worked with was A.J.
I had a very positive experience with the dealership. I had done some homework and only went there to see that specific car. I checked to make sure they still had the car before I showed up, as I’d been to another local dealer the day before who no longer had the car I came to see but did not tell me that until I had already been there for 2 hours (!). So, I made sure before I took the trek to Everett that the car was on the lot and that I could test drive it. I also knew that the asking price was an extremely good deal — it was priced below the KBB number and at a low point in the True Car bell curve. For this reason, I did not bother haggling about the price; it seemed like it would have been a waste of time and of good will. I’m sure this helped smooth out the experience! I also didn’t have a trade-​in, as this was my first car purchase.
Ataan was absolutely awesome, and talking with him helped make what would otherwise be an annoying experience tolerable. In the process of buying the car, I learned a lot about everything from the geography of Massachusetts to new TV shows I should explore, given my interests. If I were the type of person who is persuaded to buy things based on liking the salesperson, I would have had a hard time turning down Ataan. While I recognize that this could be interpreted as distraction, I had already decided to buy the car and was steadfast in my decision. Thus, it wasn’t a problem. If I’d needed to think about it more, I would have left. But I knew that I wanted the car and that there was a very real possibility that the car would be gone if I didn’t act fast; this wasn’t because they told me so but because I’d tried to buy this car from several different dealerships and hadn’t gotten to it fast enough. I’d suggest that consumers go in pretty set on what they want to avoid regret or hasty purchases.
I also had an interesting time meeting with A.J. A.J. definitely had a bit of that car salesman feel, but literally every person I’ve met at any dealership gives off that vibe at times. I never feel that I can trust them completely. However, I can tell when someone is totally blowing smoke. A.J. was good. He did not try to up-​sell me on anything that wouldn’t be useful. The one thing he did convince me to buy that I hadn’t already decided on was the wheel plan, which also comes with some sort of roadside assistance akin to AAA. I wasn’t super-​keen on buying this. However, he made a reasonable argument for getting it, mostly that because I was getting a «combo» (warranty and this wheel thing), I could get a lower interest rate on my auto financing. Now of course, I can’t be 100% sure that I couldn’t have gotten the same interest rate without getting a «combo.» But what I could see is that by getting both, I was basically making the same monthly payments as I would have been under the first option he presented. That seemed like a better deal to me, and I was comfortable with the monthly payment amount. Also, I think the wheel thing is actually a pretty nice and useful benefit. A.J. also gave me some educational tidbits on various aspects of car purchasing and insurance purchasing that I was able to put to use. Overall, I feel really good about everything that transpired when purchasing the car. So, great job to both A.J. and Ataan.
I must also compliment the staff otherwise. The nice lady who sits at the reception desk and the woman who processed my credit card for the deposit were absolutely wonderful. I wish I had caught their names so that they could be publicly praised!

I bought a car there a while back and the sales rep was good but I told him what I would pay for the car and he could decide whether or not he will accept it. He agreed if I would buy right now and I did. I had my figures based on
and from a friend int he car industry. The sale went well but that guy is no longer there.
The service department is poor. They kept telling me that they did not make the type of rain visor that I wanted, even though they put it on my aunts car a month before. When they called me for my 60,000 mile service I asked them how much it would cost and I had my mechanic do it for about half that. Actually I had about 80,000 miles at the time and they guy told me I needed a new timing belt for about $ 650. My mechanic told me I had a timing chain and the guy was either incompetent of trying to screw me. The service rep was adamant that I needed a belt and I need to get it done. After doing more research I realized my mechanic was correct and I NEVER changed the chain or had issues with my car.
If you can get a good price I would buy a car there again but I would not bring it there for service ever.

I got a sense that they do not like to deal with a certain set of people. People without local US licenses or US driving history. I was also very clearly told that since they did sell quite a bit of cars that day (18 to be exact), they felt the price I asked the car for was below what they would prefer to sell.
I had set an appointment and since I was going to reach about 15 minutes earlier, I had written a mail too regarding the updated time. However the person who confirmed the appointment had left for the day and the other person did not provide any history to the product specialist. They simply forgot about my appointment. Instead of having someone assigned to me, they just had sent someone over after he had finished with other folks and he did not seem aware of either my needs or the previous communication with me. There was also no effort to get the details to him.
That said, I was not mistreated and they did not try to missell. Rather the communication was clear even if unpleasant and hence the 2^nd star.

After I spoke with the Internet sales manager she finally get me a check over all I think she spell lots time for this I will definitely come back with purchase my new car again

I honestly have no idea how this place can have such bad ratings. My parents & I called ahead to confirm that the car I wanted was on the lot (2014 Honda Civic Coupe-​I know, it’s sexy), and Alex (the manager) held it for me and had sales consultant Justin Chin immediately let me take it for a spin. They matched the price of another dealership bringing the price of the car down from $ 19,000 and change to $ 16,000ish.then helped me lower monthly payments too. They detailed the car for me that night, had it ready the next day, and I had my sticker/​registration in 2 days.
As an easily pissed Portuguese chick, not even I could find a problem. Even my parents were happy with the sale, and Justin still calls to make sure everything is going well with my car two weeks later. Ask for Alex & Justin and you won’t have a problem.

oh, did I mention a couple weeks after I posted the review, a «manager» private messaged me to assure me that the staff in question had left, and he would not tolerate business practice as such. I then asked him if he had a complete overhaul of staff, since no name was ever mentioned in my review. he dodged that question in his reply, but instead asked if he could have my permission to post our exchanges in here. for what? to show that you exercised due diligence in customer service? or that you’re all still the same lying sleaze bags I once had the misfortune to deal with?
I did not respond to his message anymore as it was, again, wasting my time. while there really isn’t anything to show in our exchanges except for his own sleaziness, I don’t feel like granting any permission to anyone at this low level of integrity.
