Look through any window in Evergreen Park or in much of the Chicago area and there’s a significant chance that Bob Grilec and his team installed it.

Mr. Grilec estimates that the company has installed windows and doors in at least one home on every block in Evergreen Park and thousands elsewhere.

Successful as he is, Grilec comes across as a regular Joe dedicated to customer satisfaction and making sure everyone gets a square deal.

He grew up on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Right out of high school he started working for the company. He learned the window and door business from the ground up, starting as an installer and later working in sales when vinyl windows first came onto the scene. When the opportunity came to purchase the company, he jumped at the chance.

Fantastic job. The sales representative, Mike, was very helpful from start to finish on my windows project. The installation crew was very thorough with not only the installation, but also the cleanup. All 17 windows installed in less than 8 hours! Very quick and very far from sloppy. I will definitely use them again for any other projects around my house.

The salesman was very knowledgeable and helped me find the right windows for my home. Everything had to be special ordered and took about 6 weeks to produce. As soon as the windows arrived I was called and able to schedule the install. The entire crew was friendly, respectful, and very efficient. I am going to call them again to replace my back door!

We hired Evergreen for a difficult job on an old pre-​war brick building in Hyde Park. They ripped the frames down to the brick and installed two exterior metal security doors. The job took two workers 9 hours, and they covered every detail — removal of old doors and debris, painting, sealing, caulking, and cleanup. The doors had to look just right, because we have a fussy condo association. Luckily they matched all the colors, and the doors are beautiful/​work great. I would give 5 stars, but from order-​to-​installation took over 5 weeks. Also they are not cheap! I will definitely use them again

This was our first experience with Evergreen, who we called after getting an outlandish quote from Feldco for a custom sized door install. Our salesman was very friendly and knowledgable and came in $ 500 cheaper than Feldco for the exact same door materials! Install was great and we love our new door — only reason for 4 stars vs 5 stars was lack of frequent communication — I had to follow up several times to get updates on our order. Overall great though — would use them again!

This is the second year in a row I’ve used Evergreen window and doors, what a great bunch of people! Mike the salesman is always kind and professional. The installers are amazing! My friends thought the plastic drop clothes in the yard were great and still talk about it. How nice to have a bunch of professional people installing something so important in your home that looks great from the outside and inside. I’ve recommended them to friends who have already used them and I’ll continue to recommend them! 22 windows and a door. Nice job !!!

I am glad our relationship only lasted just over one year. I am giving them a 1 star because they made a good recommendation on the windows I had replaced last year and I have to say their installers does a pretty descent job
Me trying to keep my business local did not work so well for me when I had my front door replaced and what was delivered and installed was not what my wife and I thought we signed and ordered. The door was very expensive and nobody at Evergreen and Window wanted to help fix the problem all they suggested that I spend another $ 1000 to fix the slab.
So this year I figured we need to replace the remainder of the windows and went back to them for an estimate and now I am wiser and refused to pay their deposit and since I am a cash buyer and a repeat customer I saw no reason why I should pay the deposit. For one they screwed me over with this door that we now have to live with and I felt they could at least step forward and said sure lets start fresh. So yes they have their policies and I have my principles.
They chose not to do business with me and I chose they never set foot in my house again. Good riddens

Very bad company to have installing anything. Had them install a door and steel door and needed to watch their employees all through the process… Were going to install door on a sill that when I stepped on it moved up and down… Medal door from Home Guard has to be installed multiple times because they did not fix or made backwards. I had to inform the employees from Evergreen that the sidelights were wrong… And then I needed to point and show them…
Very bad service since I needed to be there 3 times and at no time did Evergreen over to pay for my trouble…
BAD COMPANY… Look elsewhere

If I could give this company zero stars, I would.
This company came and installed a sliding, patio door for us earlier this year. We had some water leaking into the basement through the original sliding door and decided to replace it to fix the water leakage (it was old).
They came out and installed the sliding door without issue. Not more than a month later, the door constantly kept popping of track and the sliding blinds built within the door kept popping off track as well. After dealing with this week after week, we finally gave in and called a technician to come out and take a look at it. Well, he did nothing more than what we had been doing each week — and slid them back into track and he seemed annoyed to have to come out and do that…
This door is a piece of a junk and it was over $ 3,000.
It gets worse — we decided to have our deck replaced and when the contractor pulled up the deck, he realized that there was absolutely no sill under the sliding deck door — which is what was a huge contributor to why the water had been leaking in! We were absolutely shocked that Evergreen made no mention of the fact that this integral part of the door structure was missing and had simply filled all of the cracks in with caulking…
We will NEVER call them for any other projects in the future and will NOT recommend them to anyone.
Our calls and emails to the company and the sales representative go unanswered.

We ordered a single large window from Evergreen and it could not have been easier. We have another contractor doing the actual installation since it is part of a bigger renovation project, but Evergreen’s consultation and help in selecting from their many options (material, style, type of window, manufacturer, etc) was exemplary. Competitive price, helpful sales team, on-​time delivery of the window… these are all things that will make me come back to Evergreen if I need anything else in the future.

Shoddy installation of security door a few years ago on Mother’s house. Tried to talk to them about it after I discovered, but they never offered to fix. Still stuck with it. Will have to pay someone to finally fix the problem. In the meantime I feel it does not protect us.

This company’s window installation is shoddy at best. The windows weren’t framed out and now we find ourselves having to replace plywood due to water damage. We were told that the windows were improperly installed and now we’re paying to have a window framed out and put in. My parents also had problems with this company. They called them back to the job site because the windows had rotted out and were about to fall out. The company told them it was their back porch that was the problem. They hired another company who came out and properly mounted and sealed the windows for them. My experience has been that the customer service only works for buying new products, not having problems addressed. I will not ever use this company again and would strongly encourage you to be very specific with the company about what you expect and make sure the are going to frame and seal the window for you !!
