James P Kacedan, MD

Dr. Kacedan is hands down what I would call the «gold standard» for doctors. He is compassionate and kind, as well as extremely knowledgeable and competent. Throughout my first pregnancy and now on my second, he has been reliable, easy to reach, and clear in his communications.
His office staff deserves the same adulation. Annie is an AWESOME nurse. I don’t know what she has for breakfast every day, but I would like some. She always genuinely acts like seeing you is the highlight of her day — and I get the sense that every patient is treated that way! Gloria at the front desk is also wonderful. It says something that both of these ladies have been with Dr. Kacedan for many years.

Dr Kacedan is clearly a very knowledgeable and experienced OBGYN. Before I moved to Fairfax recently I contacted his office to establish myself as a patient. I expressed my concerns for moving in my condition and he quickly responded personally to gather more information about my pregnancy. Less than two weeks after my move and 5 days before my first appointment with him I went into preterm labor. I contacted him and his calm tone instructed my husband and I to come to INOVA Fairfax. We had never been the hospital and got lost on the way so we called him again and he was able to help us then too. Once we arrived at the hospital I met him for the first time and he has this calming assurance that is absolutely beneficial for situations like mine. He frequently checked on me while nurses were working diligently to stop my labor. Once it was clear that the babies needed to be delivered, Dr Kacedan went over the details of a C-​section delivery with me. I was completely terrified and while the anesthesia was being injected Dr Kacedan was there for me to lean on and help me.
His ability to stay cool under pressure was comforting and assuring during my very scary, 30weeks gestation, delivery.
He continued checking on me each morning I was at the hospital.
If I were ever going to have more babies (totally done with 4 now though) I would without a doubt have Dr Kacedan be the delivering OB.

We have had 4 kids with 4 different doctors at 4 different hospitals in 3 different states. Dr. Kacedan is the best MD of them all. In each location we have done considerable research to find the best. Dr. Kacedan has been a step above the rest. He loves what he does and it shows.

I was recommended by a friend. He is a one doctor practice. The front desk staff is always so friendly. I am very happy to say that Dr. Kacedan is a very gentle and caring doctor. He delivered my second daughter! He made me feel comfortable during my delivery and made sure I was ok before he left. I would highly recommend him!

I have one HUGE complaint about Dr. Kacedan and that is that he isn’t my PCP. :) I wish I could see him for every medical concern I might have.
The staff are fantastic and Dr. Kacedan himself is phenomenal. His demeanor alone inspires confidence. After a recent appointment, I was talking to my mom on the phone and said, «You know, if I had to move, I would just fly in for my yearly exams.» That’s not a lie. I feel like an individual with a real familial/​medical history and a unique body that deserves individualized care/​treatment. I can honestly say that no previous medical experiences made me feel that was the case. He answers any questions I have, provides unsolicited comments and explanations about relevant medical information, and his bed-​side manners put all others to shame.
If the office has availability and you don’t go here, you’re making the wrong decision. :)

Dr. Kacedan is the best doctor and his staff is wonderful. I switched to Dr. K’s practice after going to another practice that botched a procedure so I was a little aphrehenisive but Dr. K put me at ease and I’ve been a patient of his ever since (7 years now). He’s very attentive, patient, gentle, and thoughtful. He takes his time and answers all of your questions thoughtfully. I would highly recommend him.

Thorough, easy to talk to, not awkward.
I was impressed by how much time he took to get my history before we begun any testing. Not only did he go beyond covering the basics, he asked what specific things I was concerned with regarding my body’s overall health and what I was planning for the future. The entire office staff was warm & welcoming. I never felt judged.
When he told me I could access my chart and results online I was ecstatic. Finally, I see healthcare moving in the right direction. I wish more doctor offices operated in this efficient manner.

I wish all of my doctors were as good as Dr. Kacedan. He is very gentle and careful during exams. He takes all the time I need to answer questions, no matter how many I have. He’s incredibly smart and up to date on recent research. I’ve been going for a few years and it’s always relatively easy to get an appointment if I’m having a problem. His current nurse, Annie, is so sweet and bubbly. His previous nurse, Shannon, was great as well. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kacedan and his office staff.

Great staff and great doctor — puts all others to shame!

I can only say amazing things about Dr. Kacedan and his crew. I remember when I was first looking for a GYN, I heard great reviews about his old partner, but couldn’t get an appointment, and very fortunately i had to settle for Kacedan. I think I was 18, and the thought of having a dude down there reallllly erked me out, but now I couldn’t ask for a better obgyn. He definitely takes time to know you, is very personable, and remembers. I only see him annually, and he makes an effort to bring up things we said the previous year — good note taker I suppose. He always seems interested to get to know me. Everyone in the office is very helpful, friendly, and professional. The office is really nice and I think just went under renovation. Not that I want kids or anything, but I’m looking forward to seeing and utilizing Dr K in his OB role. I really would recommend coming to see Dr. K!

If I could give Dr. K and his team 10 stars I would.
He’s been my OB/​GYN for over 10 years. He’s delivered both of my beautiful, healthy children and held my hand through both of my (dramatic) pregnancies. Not sure that there is a better doctor and staff ever in existence as Dr. Kacedan and the ladies at his practice.
Not only is Dr. K a nice, gentle man — he’s also personable, understanding, and a great listener. He never, ever moves you through his office like cattle. He takes his time and gets to know you, you feel like you’re his only patient. You can go to see with a year or 2-​long gap and he’s the kind of doctor that remembers what you last spoke about, and not what’s in your file. «How’s your mom? Is she enjoying living in California? What a difference from living in Florida for so long.» — that’s the kind of memory and personal touch that Dr. K and his team have.
The nurses are amazing (Annie is the sweetest thing!), the billing girl (Jennifer) and Gloria who answers the phone — all special, sweet, and wonderful people.
My sister, best friend and my sister-​in-​law are also patients of his, after my referrals and they all thank me for sending them his way.
You’ll never love another doctor the way you love Dr. Kacedan, he set the mold.
