It was not close to being closing time and they close their grill and turn people down to get out earlier. On top of that they were completely unapologetic about it. Not coming back here.

I echo the other criticisms of some of these others. We stood at they register for five minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The order came out correctly, but the fries were cold and rock hard. Burgers were fine.

I had a really bad experience at this smash burger place. My order took forever, but it didn’t worth waiting… I had to run to work so I’ve just grabbed my food. I had a Baja salad with grilled chicken. Chicken was fine. So u got 1 star for the chicken, Smash burger! They did not put any dressing, even though it says on the menu that it comes with dressing. Half of greens were bad, and guacamole tasted sour. Not good!

Awful! My boyfriend loves Smashburger but… OMG! I ordered online… a chicken avocado burger and a bbq burger and fries… my boyfriend said when he got there prior to pickup… 1. They were standing around looking lost and didn’t greet him at all. He initiated the conversation and asked for his order, they just gave him the bag, no goodnight, thank you, etc. Customer service —awful. 2. We literally live across the street, both burgers were so cold. No thought to waiting to make them closer to pickup time. 3. I ordered an avocado burger w/no mayo or ranch dressing. Guess what was not on it… a frickin’ avocado and guess what was added… mayo and ranch dressing. 4. I call back to speak to the manager, they were playing on the phone. 5. No more Smashburger for me and the Vienna-Dunn Loring location… not!

My first time at a SmashBurger and likely my last. Cashier had to finish typing a text message before taking my order and when she asked me a particular about my order she has to repeat it 3 times because I couldn’t understand a word she was saying. On top of the experience at the cashier, the bun of the burger was hard and the fries were cold. I’ll pass.

Ordered two classic burgers. Both tasted very salty. The fries were great but had no salt on them(which is perfectly fine), the contrast between the two was surprising. Not sure if salty taste was from the burger patty or the sauce they use on the classic burger but it reminded me of Wendy’s…just with more salt. Will come back to give them another shot. Could have been a new cook.

4 ¾ stars! The reason for the ¼ off is because I had ordered the Smash Fries, and even though they were good, I’m not a fan. :-(Sorry about that everyone, but that’s how I feel about them. Now on to the review! :-) I came in here last night, and ordered the Capital Smashburger, Smash Fries, and Salted Caramel Shake! YUM! Food comes out a couple of minutes later, and it did not disappoint at all! The food and shake were very good even though not a fan myself of the fries, I still ate them because I was hungry at the time! LOL! Would I recommend this place, OHHELLYES since to me they surpass Five Guys! Sorry about this, but I can get a better meal deal here than at Five Guys! Anyway, give this place a shot, and you won’t be disappointed at all. At least I wasn’t. Hope everyone as a great day now! :-)

Was told by the cashier that 30mins prior to closing they only do to go orders. Thought that was lame, especially since it looked like the staff was enjoying a sit down meal right by the counter. So we walked down to one of the other places that was open for the hours that they post.

I had a 4 part order. 2 burgers. Large smash fries. And a vanilla milkshake. I ordered online for a pickup of 915. I got to the smashburger right at 915. There were about 6 employees just standing around the cashier area. It was evident that no one cared/took leadership initiate to help me with my order. So I told them I had an online order. I asked for a few extras, pickles, truffle mayo, and smash sauce. Upon leaving I placed the food on my heated car seats and drove home 3 minutes. Upon arrival I checked the order for accuracy. I had the big bacon avocado with cheddar. To my huge disappointment, there was no AVACADO! Both burgers were cold, like they were made when I placed the order, not paying mind to the pickup time. The fries were cold and no of them were over an inch long. Like they tried to give me the worst of the worst, bottom of the barrel crap. I first went to Smash in Denver an it blew my mind! Excellent all around! I tried to recreate the same experience for my friend who had never tried it before, and it back fired all over the place. I probably won’t go back to this location. It seemed very new but extremely poorly managed.

I’ve been waiting for Smashburger to open right next to the Dunn Loring Metro. It’s probably about 30 steps from the entrance of metro. I’ve never had their burger before and made my own creation. I had the regular patty, bbq, goat cheese, sauteed onions, jalapenos and lettuce and tomato on an egg bun. I think I had to pay extra for cheese, and there are other«premium» toppings you pay for like bacon. I’m sometimes afraid of my own creations but loved it, especially the fresh tasting goat cheese. My husband got the spicy burger with bacon added and enjoyed that. The patty itself was good, but a tad dry at the end. We also tried the smash fries with olive oil and rosemary. The fries are shoestring style. A bit oily but enjoyable. The burgers came out super quick, maybe 5 minutes. They bring it to your table. As of now there is a lot of asking if everything is ok and if you need anything. A little overkill for a fast casual kind of place. I think it is a welcome addition to the other restaurants by the metro and the apt/condos nearby. Now if someone would open a convenience store… Or the Harris Teeter opens.
