The Edge At Fairfax Corner

I love living here; it’s peaceful and quiet, and a good place to live. As a single 30-​something I’m very security conscious and feel safe here. I wish there was more parking, but can usually find a space close to my home. The office is prompt and polite when dealing with any issues, and have never had any problems. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Love the staff here and love living here, it’s pretty quite, parking is a little rough sometimes but not as bad as i thought it was going to be from reading all the reviews.

The front staff is nice and helpful, but that’s it. The gates never work, yet the community still calls itself «gated.» The trash valet service is terrible and not worth the extra $ 25 (or in my case, somehow $ 34) because I can just take the trash down myself. They don’t perform a service I couldn’t do myself in less time. The ceilings are super thin and my girlfriend and I can hear every little thing the family above us is doing, from walking to vacuuming to moving furniture, and our walls constantly shake and mess up anything hanging on the walls.
Our apartment is also nowhere near properly weatherproofed, and they refused to put in weatherstripping for us, and told us that if we put some up we had to take it down when we moved. There was a legit breeze coming through our main door and our bedroom door — you’d think they could take the time to fix that.
The maintenance people are nice, but to me it appears that they are either lax or trying too hard to save management money.
For what we have to put up with, it is not worth the money. Sure, the location is good, but so are the other 5 apartment complexes in the area. If you do decide to move into this complex, make sure you know how to disconnect the alarm so that it doesn’t wake you up at 4am when it gets to low battery. Oh, and if you want to pay rent with a credit card, it’s an extra $ 50.
I’d be willing to give them a better review if they worked with me to fix some of these problems, but so far nothing has happened to rectify our situation.

Just toured the property this evening with Renée. Everything was absolutely beautiful and the residents also seemed very friendly. The club house, pool and grounds were beautiful and well kept. Although the complex is surrounded by roads on three sides the the traffic is at a forgettable low level when inside of a street facing apartment. Seriously considering leasing an apartment here.

We really liked the environment and the management people are very helpful. Housing is awesome. The community is always is maintained clean. I hv suggested many friends of mine to take up the lease. One of them took up a lease.

Nice place to live, maintenance is prompt and efficient. Parking is tight but if you can afford to get covered parking, best route to go. Close to some good restaurants and grocery stores.

I truly love the place the location is great for kids and the Staff especially Tahmina is awesome really makes you feel welcomed.
Be aware that club house is great but, is only open during business hours closes at 6: PM, so if you like to get out and hang in the theater room, or play some pool or mini shuffle board table or just watch the tube it isn’t happening! And you pay for the service, First place I’ve seen that promotes amenities that unless you are out of work it can’t be used.

I’ve lived here for a little over a year now and have had a wonderful experience living here so far! The apartment meets all my expectations and I am a satisfied resident. I don’t have much to complain about especially because of the apartment location. I love living across the street from Wegmans and haven’t had a real issue with the apartment or management yet. (no maintenance needed either) I can tell that the management or employees (within past 6 – 8 months) are responding to questions and concerns better than they used to when I first moved in at the beginning of Jan 2015. The reason I cannot give 5 stars is because my rent rate jumped over $ 100 at the time of renewal, and I’m in one of the smaller/​unrenovated apartments. Thankfully, they were able to offer me the lowest renewal rate on their monthly chart– even though I was renewing for 12 months, they gave me the lowest offered price for 7 months. If I would have accepted the 12-​month renewal rate, it would be over $ 150 more than my original rent rate. It was a little disappointing to go to the Edge website when it was time for my renewal and see other apartments of the same model at the complex being offered for the same renewal rate they gave me, because I thought as a renewing resident they would offer me a slightly lower rate.

Really like this complex minus the parking, not enough spaces and guest parking is a pain.

I placed a one star but it deserves less than that. The rent is high, the walls are ridiculously thin, they charge you for trash service, that is late and useless. People walk their dogs and they do the enforce poop pick up. The grounds keepers don’t pick it up either. there is dog poop everywhere. The staff never knows accurate information and the mail system is crazy. The snow removal is non existent. The snow storm in January, no one came to remove the snow fo 4 days. The parking area was unusable. The management could care less. I will be moving at the end of the lease.

I love the support service through the maintenance crew we have here. The office can improve on their customer service.
they need to be a little bit more friendly and curtious. Miss Siddiqui has exceptional customer service.

So I waited for leasing office to fix rodent problem and they haven’t. This complex has MICE AND RATS. PLEASE BE AWARE. The amount of money you pay to live here, you should not encounter this problem. I will be moving ASAP.

The office staff is awesome. Renee has been the great from the day I signed my paperwork. She was not my leasing consultant but she’s very helpful. My consultant from the start which is not longer there misinformed me tremendously then back peddled after being confronted. Which really agitated me… but Renée came to the rescue. And Robert has been a help as well resolving problems due to leasing consultants error.
Overall the staff is really awesome.

I am not happy with the trash valet service. Neither are the half dozen other residents I have spoken with. The majority of residents here are young professionals with children that are perfectly capable of taking the trash to the dumpster. Also, the service just takes the trash in the can, tosses it down the stairs, then transports it the 15 feet to the dumpster. If the goal is to ensure the dumpsters are not overflowing, this service isn’t cutting it. It is also in no way a «convenience». So, charging the $ 25 a month is not worth it.
It doesn’t seem the landscaping crew is, at minimum, informing the office of trash/​dog feces on the premises. There was a kid’s bike in the bushes right next to the pool for over a 3 months until my boyfriend went in and fished it out. Then, it was another week before it was gone.
It also seems like dog feces is never picked up by either the owners or a service or anything. Snow removal is mostly ok, but there were still way too many parking spaces that were rendered useless this past winter. With nowhere else to park, having that many spaces covered in snow, and still handing out visitor passes, was not ok for those of us paying to live here.
The gate is always broken, so what is the point? The call boxes have not worked for over a year, despite me informing management. When they do «work», they aren’t up to date. I hardly think everyone in the community, besides myself, has the last name of Nyguen.

Great location to live, friendly staff, apartments have plenty of space. Guest Parking could be better, need better windows to block noise and heat. Over all I like living here. Wegmans is a walk across the street so win!!!

The staff is remarkable and it makes me feel at home. The amenities are great too with the pool being relaxing after a long day at work. There is also a 24 hour fitness center, business center, a pool table, and party room. The location is the best part about this apartment. 10 minutes to GMU, walking distance to Fairfax corner, minutes to fairoaks mall, minutes to EVERYTHING. LOVE IT.

I have lived in several apartment communities in this area and others and none are as wonderful as the Edge, I am honestly devastated I am going to have to leave the complex and relocate. I can already tell from my search I won’t find a similar place.
I had huge noise complaints at my last complex down the road and the management did nothing, I was calling the police all of the time for the abuse I would hear and other noise coming from upstairs. Granted, neighbors and their respect for others is hit or miss but I haven’t had an issue here. Perhaps with the high price of rent comes a little class.
I live in an older style apartment with no upgrades and maybe a foot of counter space. I will look forward to having a fully functional kitchen again when I move, but it worked for the time I was here. I made do. The dishwasher was constantly a problem as it spewed particles all over my food and needed to be vacuumed frequently, which was an annoyance. I was basically told I needed to rinse my dishes better, but eventually one of my favorite maintenance workers took the thing apart and cleaned it better.
Maintenance…I haven’t had a single issue with that either. Maintenance is always handled in 24 hours or less, which is their standard. Freddie is great. The best. Very kind. All of the workers are thorough and personable.
The grounds are well cared for. No complaints there.
Parking is always available which also was a problem at my last complex, often having to park outside the community and walk to your apartment. This was in part, due to the fact the lazy office staff would not enforce the parking rules there. While yes, it appears they have a lack of guest spaces, I have never had an issue getting a parking pass. If I’m not able to get one before they close, they leave it for me to pickup. The do begin towing after 7pm for unmarked cars.
Gates are always false safety, so the fact the one here works ¹⁄₃ of the time is no big deal to me. I didn’t move here because of the gate. If someone wants in, they will follow someone… that’s at any community. Gates do not decrease a crime rate in an apartment complex. Period.
I haven’t used the clubhouse facilities but did make good use of the pool while here. The amenities fee is a little outlandish in my opinion, but most of these apartment fees are a little ridiculous. If the community offered special events, it might be worth the fee. Kind of shocked they don’t, outside of a couple a year sponsored by local businesses where you can pick up a muffin or a slice of pizza.
Noise is not an issue here, with exception to the obnoxious person who drives a Corvette with modified tail pipes. They come ripping through the complex at various times of the day and night and it’s completely and utterly ridiculous. I won’t miss living with that person. There are also people who seem to be too lazy to get out of their car and pick someone up or pick up their phone to let the person know they are there. My upstairs neighbors have even gone to their balcony to tell the people to STFU, Again, it’s rude but not everyone has class and respect.
The location is hands down amazing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked across the street to Wegmans to grab a snack or groceries. It’s also very convenient to walk to Fairfax Corner with all of its shops and food places. The location is just awesome. There is a bus stop outside the community for people who use public transport. You could certainly live here and do without a car.
I will absolutely miss this place. I was here for a year and a half and the girl before me was here four years.

I’ve lived here for almost a year and will be moving out in a couple weeks. I found this place online when I lived in Washington state. It was one of three places I narrowed my search down to prior to relocating. I spoke with Valeria at that time and she was very helpful even used FaceTime to let me view the apartment I was considering until I traveled there. The particular apartment was in the process of being fully renovated with new carpet, cabinets, ceiling fans, wooden floors, stainless steel appliances and it had an attached garage. Basically it was a brand new apartment pretty much. When I arrived here around this time last year I viewed other apartments as well as this one which was still being renovated. Well, I decided to continue with the leasing of this 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. It was very small as I was moving from a 3 level townhome but everything fit cozy and comfortably. While here I’ve never had any issues with neighbors, management (although the manager now is very standoffish and rude. I know from seeing his interaction with other people the few times I’m in the leasing office) maintenance. Also, I asked him for a move out checklist and he replied «it’s the same as the move in checklist!» Really! I asked to schedule a move out inspection and he said «that isn’t done here.» Hmm… I’ve never lived in a place where there wasn’t one. What a liability or a way to possibly screw over tenants. Overall a great living experience and my apartment has a great view of the pool with great sunlight. There are pet stations all throughout the property and the surrounding area is amazing. Shops and stores, parks, running trails, close to GMU many reasons to live here. During winter months the snow is always taken care of but not in front of your garage so if not shoveled the sides become high and can cave in. There is no place to buy excess snow except for vacant parking spots which is unfortunate because parking is limited for those who don’t have garages. So there cannot be a one sided review. Although great there are a few issues that annoyed the heck out of me while living here.
1. Rent is very expensive. $ 500 nonrefundable pet fee with a monthly pet fee so for a renovated apartment over $ 2000 a month for less than 1000 sq feet.
2. There is gated access but the gate is always open/​broken. In a year it may have worked maybe 5 times and that is being generous with my estimation.
3. There is an amenities fee. Although the business center is nice. The printer is always broken or not working. What is the point of paying when printer and copier is always broken. Asking leasing agents to print personal information is inconvenient especially when we pay a crazy fee for unlimited usage.
4. Valet trash service is used here and it is okay but the restrictions are crazy they only take stuff up to certain pounds and what can fit in the 20 gallon trash can provided. For the price they should take whatever you out outside your door, in my opinion. There is no way to opt out and take your own trash to the dumpster. Heck the closest dumpster to me is three garages down.
Again, Overall, I had a pleasant stay here despite the few negative things. I hope the move out goes as smoothly as the move in.

This is hands down the worst place I have ever lived at! Having had to move here from PA wiggly because of a job has made the transition terrible. The management was rude, my neighbors are loud to all hours of the night and when I asked management to do something about it, they told me they couldn’t because it was happening not during office hours and to call the police… I am sure FCPD has more important things to do than tell the obnoxiously loud people above me to be quiet and considerate. FCPD had been there a fair share though… A few times when leasing for work in the morning, there were raids in the building next to mine, which made me unrest to say the least. I felt like I was living in an overpriced in a trailer park! I am so happy that I found another place to live that cares about the people who live there and take care of issues if they ever arrive.
