Delicious food in a charming, if simple, setting. There were four for dinner and we all ate pasta — homemade gnocchi with sausage and white beans, homemade pappardelle with mushrooms and two had the rigatoni with eggplant and mozzarella. We all cleaned our plates. Service was very good — attentive not pushy — and Andrea B. sang quietly in the background. Finally, here’s a neighborhood place where I can bring friends and not go through the«Where are we going to eat?», «I don’t want anything too spicy», «I’ve never had that kind of food» because you know we were always going to have Italian, but we just didn’t know where. Well the«where» I will be bringing my friends to is Bella Sera… every time. So happy I’ve found this little restaurant.

My husband and I went to Bella Sera based on the excellent reviews on Unilocal. It is located in a converted house, and is very charming. We were seated immediately on the first floor, which had about five tables. I understand there is an additional dining room upstairs. The waitress was very friendly. However, I was disappointed in the food. I ordered Chicken Scarpariello, which is one of my favorites, and when I see it on a menu(which is rare), I always order it. This was nothing like what I’m used to. It was served on mashed potatoes and covered with a glutinous light brown gravy, which tasted dreadful. My husband enjoyed his Linguine with Clams, but said he’s had better elsewhere. We began with a Caesar Salad, which was just mediocre. In addition, there is a pass-through to the Kitchen and I noticed that no-one there was wearing a hat or harnet. That really turned me off.

Came here for dinner last week and was very impressed with everything. The restaurant is in a converted house, so there’s a downstairs dining room as well as an upstairs with bar area. The place maintains a «homey» feel while still having a trendy and classy décor. It really works well for a place with excellent home-made Italian food. For an appetizer we had the antipasto, fresh mozzarella and marinated artichokes really set off the night well. For dinner I had the steak mushroom risotto. It was delicious, the meat was really flavorful and the risotto was nice and light. Didn’t get to have any dessert becasue we were really full, but I’ll definitely be back again.

I came to Bella Sera for a birthday dinner. They were very accommodating to our large party. We were seated upstairs which was quiet and had its own bar. We started with the calamari and the antipasto milano. Both were delicious. Our server was flexible with changes to an entrée. I had the pappardelle bolognese. It was flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I plan on returning soon for more delicious Italian at Bella Sera! Enjoy!

If you want an amazing meal at reasonable prices then this is where you need to go!!! Never had a bad meal here and service is always great. Food is fresh and it tastes like a true home cooked meal your nonna would make. Treat yourself with a trip here, you won’t regret it!

Awful, simply awful. We brought another family to introduce them to the restaurant. We were seated upstairs. We waited, and waited. We ordered two fried calamari for the table; one came and then we waited… For the second one to arrive. Awkward while half the table was eating and the other end waited. Salads: arugula — that’s it — no dressing? Are you kidding? Then the real disasters begin. My Zuppa de Pesce arrived lukewarm as I waited, and waited and waited for everyone else’s food to arrive. My friend ordered a chicken dish with shrimp and sun dried tomatoes. He hates capers. He gets chicken with capers and butter. He know he did not order the dish because he hates capers. They bring him a dish with shrimp and sun dried tomatoes — still with the boiling water left in the dish — they did not even drain the dish of the water. I asked three times for a diet Coke. The icing on the cake, and I hope you are sitting down for this one: they added 20 percent tip and calculated it on top of the tax! Chutzpah is the only word that comes to mind. Awful food, awful service, awful experience. Embarrassing we brought good friends to such a classless restaurant. Would never go back.

Authenticity at it’s finest. Great service. Excellent dishes ! We really felt at home at Bella Seras. Literally it feels like your in your dining room surrounded by the smells of Italy and sounds of Frank Sinatra. Definite come back !! Try this place!
