On my first visit I mistakenly got two«snack size» orders thinking I would be able to try out 2 different macs and enjoy them. One snack size would have been too much-the portions are big! I got the Mac Yard Bird and Mac Mexican. While both were fantastic, I could say that the Mac Mexican was my favorite. The guy that worked there was very nice and helped pick out what we might like. A great place to go for great food!

It looks like a small shack on the outside. When you go in, it’s kind of small but has lots of customers usually. Super good food. We got the BBQ pulled pork and the French onion. The BBQ pulled pork was soo good if you like pulled pork. The French onion max and cheese was super delicious. It’s kind of on the pricier side. But totally worth it if you love mac and cheese.

Love Macdaddy’s, the best Mac & Cheese around! I am addicted to the Mac Caprese. I see the complaints about cost and have to say I’d rather spend $ 9 on a delicious filling bowl of Mac Caprese, than spend the same for a value meal at a fast food joint. It’s not that different in price. I’ve have tried just about everything on the menu and have liked them all. The snack size may seem small when you look at it, but go ahead, try and finish it! There’s more than enough to eat. I was up in Milford this past weekend and tried Mac N Out, what a blatant copycat of Macdaddy’s! It may look like Macdaddy’s, but it sure didn’t taste like Macdaddy’s. Stick to the original!

After hearing about this place from coworkers for months, I finally made my way to Macdaddy’s last night. I love that they have a large menu, but it was almost intimidating to make a selection right on the spot. After careful review, I selected the Mac French Onion with bacon and carmelized onions and gruyère cheese. We got our order to go and 30 minutes later(at the beach — the food only took 5 or 10 mins.), I enjoyed one of the best mac and cheese meals I’ve had in a long time. I like that that have a unique spin on such a normal meal. A couple of people have said it’s expensive, but a small is more than enough to feed one person and for $ 8 – 9, that’s about the same price you would pay for a good sub.

I loved the Monroe MacDaddy’s for so long, and am so happy that there’s now one in fairfield! I disagree with a lot of the negative reviews here – I’m always pleased with what I order. Thankfully they have gluten free pasta available! My favorite is the Mac French Onion which has bacon and carmelized onions and gruyère cheese. The perfect blend of sweet onions and salty cheese! The first time I ordered I asked for the gluten free pasta, and then specified that i didn’t want breadcrumbs. The girl working there looked at me and said of course, why would anyone put breadcrumbs on a gluten free dish. So refreshing to have a place be knowledgeable about gluten free food! I give it four stars out of five only because it’s impossible to find things out about the restaurant… No one seems to be responding to inquiries or facebook messages. The facebook page hasn’t been updated in months, and it looks like the restaurant that was opening in Milford is no longer. But so glad it came to fairfield!

Mostly agree with previous reviewers; food is tasty, but just a bit on the expensive side. There is *very* little table seating available(10 seats) with 5 – 6 more bar seats against a wall. A number of the reviewers have commented that the noodles are overcooked, but I think they’ve set their expectations too high. This is not an Italian bistro serving high-end pasta and sauce, it’s a mac&cheese shop, and they are going for ‘baked mac and cheese’ texture. On that measure, they do an admirable job. It looks like they’ve learned to keep their music under control; at 2PM on a Saturday the music was present, but not overwhelming, we were still able to converse normally.

Good concept(been going on in NYC for years). You can create your own combo or just work off their original. The base cheese sauce is a very mild cheddar. They didn’t have American cheese I was told but offer a variety of cheeses like gouda, provolone, mozzarella, blue cheese & a cheese combo including(wait for it) Velveta. Yikes. Anyway… Cudos for offering wheat & gluten fre pasta! The service was knowledgable & friendly. Clean interior. Decent size. Mostly College & high school patrons. They make their own desserts. Standard fountain drinks as well asJoe’s ice tea & Dirty Potato chips in a few flavors. typically they have a «special of the week». S, M, L starting @ $ 5 for the basic Americano. I tried the Mexican mac & cheese w/o meat or beans w gluten free pasta small for $ 7.50 Creamy texture but not very flavorful, smokey salsa– too smokey bcz the Chipoltle overpowered it all, pasta was wayyy over cooked, jarred not fresh jalapeños– lame, it was bubbling hot in its mini cast iron skillet though. Overall: plain old average. 20% off 1st catering order. Open til 10 on weekends. Tight parking.

Horrible. Dont waste your time or money here. The mac n cheese could have come out of a box. The mushrooms were canned and gross. The buffalo mac and cheese. well it wasnt that. Just Bleh and way to expensive.

So as I was driving around being completely unproductive at my job, I contemplated places to eat… Fortunately Unilocal delivers(metaphorically, I mean.) I was hard pressed between this place and a yummy looking sandwich shop nearby, but as always: cheese wins(Packer fans can take from this whatever meaning they want.) I passed it on my first shot through, since there were no pictures uploaded I was not sure what to look for(I have now uploaded several pictures including a storefront photo) and it is a somewhat«cozy» sized restaurant in a small strip next to an awesome looking chili place and a grocer(I think.) It is right off a main street, so it is pretty easy to get to. The feel and ambiance of the place is pretty trendy, and they have good music playing in the background(top charts) although I would prefer something more in-sync with their style and pizzazz — maybe some hard blues? Something with a saxophone? I dunno, either way the music was great and no complaints here. There are cool color-coded seating areas and everything is based off cast iron cookware. They even serve your food in the same cast iron skillet that they cook it in(with a pot holder of course so you don’t burn yourself) which I thought was really cool! There were a few vegetarian options, I opted for the«mac vegetarian» which consisted of mac, cheese, artichoke heart, asparagus and balsamic vinegar reduction sauce and topped with crunchy stuff — not sure what it was, but delicious nonetheless and added great texture to an amazing combination. I have got to say… If I were literally a cow, I would get a plate for each stomach. Oh well, I will have to just settle for FEELING like a cow I guess. I ate every last piece, and almost licked the skillet were I alone I probably would have. Hello calories. They have a near endless amount of meat options, and do custom work(ie they asked me if I wanted to add any other ingredients, dressing, etc) which I declined. The possibilities could go on for weeks! Or at least until your doctor tells you to stop — whichever comes first. As James C. mentioned, it is a little bit on the pricey side but a small was more than enough to fill me up and I am 6’3″ and 198 pounds. I actually probably could have shared it with someone else and still left satisfied. It’s good food, I don’t mind paying an extra dollar or two for quality. The service was incredible, and the young plaid wearing, cheese-slingin’, mac daddy guru behind the counter was very friendly and attentive to both myself and the other guests(at the time there were two other people there around 2:30pm). He also kept a conversation up with me, since I was there by myself. Remember: Brooklyn, baby. Think Brooklyn. We need one of these either in a restaurant form or deluxe food truck — you’d fit right in. My compliments to the chef, my compliments to the front employee, my compliments to the creator. Strong work!

I have been to a very similar restaurant in NYC a couple of times and was excited trying out a new one with the same idea and very similar design. Sorry to say the mac and cheese wasn’t nearly as good. I had the one with vodka sauce and it tasted very similar to what you buy in the grocery store. The noodles I think were undercooked with too much vodka sauce and only a little cheese on top. I had expected a more gooey and creamy dish. The restaurant looks to be very popular with young kids many ordering a medium size and finishing it! That is a good review as any!

Decent Mac & cheese. Tried the regular Mac & cheese, good flavor and the right amount of cheese to pasta ratio. The bad — too expensive, interesting décor and music, and the do not serve beer or wine(the name does say Mac and cheese bar right?). If you are going to have trendy décor and music let me at least get some booze in me if I am going to be eating expensive Mac $ cheese. Overall very decent food and will do take out only if I have a hankering for the Mac & cheese

I love mac and cheese and was excited to try Macdaddy’s. It’s a cool idea for a restaurant, but ultimately it was kind of a let down. The good: I had the meatball mac and cheese which was very good, but I like my mac and cheese crispy, which it wasn’t. Still, it was cheesy and delicious. I tried the Big Mac flavored mac and cheese a friend of mine was having, which did taste eerily like a Big Mac — it was also very good. They have a wide variety of menu items, many of them looked delicious and inventive and I had a hard time making my choice. The bad: Way too expensive, $ 8 or $ 9 for a small skillet. $ 15 or so for the medium and the larges run between $ 25 and $ 40. Maybe if the skillet was jam packed with mac and cheese, it would justify the price, but it wasn’t. They also had loud techno music playing in the small restaurant, which made it difficult to converse, I though that was totally unnecessary. Although it’s way too expensive, I would still like to go back and try the other varieties.

My family were very excited to see this restaurant open in our neighborhood, I mean who does not like Mac and Cheese. Well this is a completely new twist on Mac & Cheese. I believe there are over 20 different recipes of these gourmet mac & cheese dishes. They serve your mac & Cheese nice and hot on a iron skillet. I had the mac pulled pork. According to MacDaddy’s the pulled pork is 12 hour roasted, has blue cheese, and topped with sweet baby ray’s BBQ sauces. It was absolutely delicious! The biggest problem I have is choosing between the different mac & cheeses. My daughter had the«mac monte cristo», the ingredients included; black forest had & smoked gouda. My wife went in a different direction, she ordered the«mac Jordan», which has house made marinara, ricotta, mozzarella, mushrooms and sweet italian sausage. It was also wonderful. On a side interesting note: the place is hip, but a bit small so you may want to consider take out. Parking, is small but there is some extra parking in the back. Also the owner seemed to be technology savvy and was using a «cloud» solution utilizing IPads for cash registers and would send you receipt to you by email, which I did get. Also if you text them at «57711» and put«Macddays» in the subject line you get notification of specials is what I was told. I am looking forward to returning to try some of the other dishes, but I have to admit the mac pulled pork maybe hard to beat. ;-)
