Visited Compané for the first time yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. Tried one of their wood fired create your own pizza’s with tomato sauce, artichokes, roasted red peppers, olives and tomatoes. WOW was that good! Thin crust done perfectly and very flavorful. I had to walk over and give kudos to Tyler(pizza chef) for making such a great product! I’d say the best pizza in Rochester area. All the staff was so genuinely friendly and there to offer a great dining experience. Rachel the bartender was great and I must say also does a great job. Met Jennifer a server /G. M. who came over to welcome me and say hello. Also met the owner who was there too. I felt like I had been coming there for years. Nice cozy nicely decorated dining room. This place to me envelops the true meaning of a Bistro. Oh there was also music provided by Katy Wright a local singer guitar player who is also fantastic. This place is definitely worth a drive for dinner. And yes it is handicap accessible meeting ADA standards.

Great service and fantastic food. I had the gnocchi and wanted to lick the dish! Homemade in a perfectly seasoned marinara. This is my new go to for Italian food in Fairport. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu.

Came here on a Wed and I was surprised on how busy it was. All the tables were filled except for one. The staff was really friendly and attentive. We ordered the Calamari, pepperoni pizza and vodka pasta. The calamari was really good, will def order again. The pizza was also good. The vodka pasta was just ok. Overall it was a nice experience and will come back again to try some other entrees.

Pretty cool bar for its suburban location. Unfortunately the food has gone from slightly better than mediocre before last year’s ownership change to way worse than mediocre now. There are a lot of Italians in this part of NY. Compane’s owners should find one that will tell them what Italian food is supposed to taste like.

Came for my husbands bday. Tues nite. Waitress very nice and apologetic: Had to ask for bread!!! Bus boy walking in circles like: where am i going with this bread? Salads a la cart. Service very slow. Soda machine broken. Brussel sprout salad was AWESOME, chicken french was hot– over escarole– serving was small. As usual– loud atmosphere with music blaring. Wont be back for a while.

Friends suggested this place in the village of Fairport which we had never been to since we usually head into the city for dinner. They do take reservations which is good because it was hopping on Saturday evening. We were very pleasantly surprised by our experience. The servers were all very friendly and efficient especially given the big crowd. We started with a nicely tender and tasty serving of calamari. We also tried their wedge salads — the candied bacon and sauteed onions were a nice touch. Each of us then ordered a different pizza and all were proclaimed to be a success. My Fourth Street pizza was excellent and with the added pepperoni was really loaded with meat. The back room where we were seated was definitely not as loud as the front area where the bar is located. We will definitely return.

AMAZING fresh homemade pasta and ricotta! Had eggplant parm that was cooked to perfection and the crab cakes special as an appetizer with the perfect roumalade. The chocolate chip cannoli was the perfect finish. Eric is a great server and the staff is just excellent.

We were there last night for our 4th visit. I like this place more with each visit. The food is great. Definitely my favorite wood fired pizza. Very good service. We brought our picky eater with us last visit and she basically created her own menu item, they were very accommodating. Good specials and decent happy hour. I am also a fan of the ambiance. Ya gotta check it out!

Compane is a romantic gem you should make your regular spot. It is under new ownership and seems to feel lighter and more open then when I was there over the Summer. Atmosphere: It’s cozy and warm without feeling crowded at all. The bar area in the front is really beautiful with space to sit and have a drink, mingle or grab a bite at a high top. The décor is charming while still being modern and cool. The whole feel of the place is friendly and happy! Also, the bathrooms are pretty and very clean which is a key point for me. Drinks: The bartender, Rachel, was great. Even though there was a full bar everyone had a drink in hand. I didn’t know what I wanted and she asked me a few questions and made me a delicious bubbly cocktail. Sitting at this bar with a drink makes you feel like one of the cool kids. What I ate: I tried a lot of food here because I like to eat off of everyone else’s plate. We had arancini, artichoke French and meatballs for apps. All three were delish. I got the beat salad and I have to say this salad was AMAZING. I do not usually say that about salad but this thing was so so good. Big chunks of beet, goat cheese, some kind of perfectly toasted nut and dressed with the perfect amount of dressing. I thought about that beet salad for a week. Try it. For an entrée I had the bolognese and it was right on. I’m not used to having braised pork in a bolognese and it was lovely. I also had some of the woodfired pizza. It had the perfect crust, crispy on the bottom and soft in the middle. Also, the cheese was perfectly proportioned to the sauce and everything stayed in place. Service: Our waitress was Jen. She was wonderful. Very professional and attentive. Definitely gave the feel of a more expensive dining experience. Also the chef was circulating the dining room and bringing food out to people which makes you feel like a rock star. Overall take away: Go here if you want to feel special!

It was our office Christmas celebration. The boss ordered plenty of appetizers and drinks. My favorite was the meatballs and sauce! I didn’t care too much for the artichoke French — too bland, not enough lemon. I didn’t try the calamari or rice balls. I ordered the peanut butter/chocolate pie, yup, it was fantastic!

Compane is located on Main Street Fairport where all the action is. This place has a special combination of great service and awesome food. The brick oven pizzas are the best in New York. The special pastas are delicious. It is a small spot but heady things come in small packages, we had a reservation with a baby and were immediately accommodated.

Ok, started out w is changing our reso from 3 people to two… which had us at standing at the crowded bar waiting for a table for 20 min… not a big deal and understandable. Next we ordered apps which included the crispy calamari and a Caesar salad. Pretty good but not overly flavorful. Then came the main course… my wife ordered the veal milanese and I ordered the veal parm. Veal came in portions similar to the size of hockey pucks and were about as tough. Extremely ruberry chunks of veal is not very good and after telling the waitress I was unsatisfied she said she was sorry… unfortunately we were the ones who were sorry because we paid full price and left hungry. Do yourself a favor and if you go and order the pizza… they seem to be good at pizza, definitely not veal. Sorry, I wanted to like this little bistro but our main course was completely tasteless.

I don’t often give 5 stars but this was the best meal we’ve had while transiting the canal! In fact it’s up there with other great meals in larger cities– really. Started with the crispy eggplant appetizer with pesto cream, mozzarella and tomato– gobbled up quickly. Then had special appetizer of heirloom tomatoes with watermelon, mint pesto, pine nuts and feta; wanted to lick the plate it was sooo delicious! We each decided to get the brick oven pizza(was really hungry and you can always get a box to bring it back to the boat, right?) The Margherita pizza was great — nice tomato flavor and creamy mozzarella — I requested extra basil and got a big handful, very generous! Hubby got the one with anchovies, capers cheese and oregano, well he ate THE whole pizza! Crust nice and thin with just the right chew and crisp. Wine list was fairly extensive and service was very nice; from beginning to end. Ambiance nice for a conversation and décor subtle and relaxing. Highly recommend this place.

Great atmosphere, food and service. We were dining in a large group with our friend Mario from Italy, who ordered his mother’s hometown recipe: Mozzarella pizza with onions, roasted bell peppers and black olives. We all thought it was fantastic. Ask for Mario’s Special Pizza!

Everything is mediocre except the meatballs and rigatoni bolognese. This is my go-to comfort food and Compane makes the best dish in Rochester IMO.

We went here after walking around canal days for dinner. We were starving and ready to get our Italian on. I didn’t think the restaurant was too loud, but definitely a bit dark. After not seeing sunlight for 5 Months, it would be nice if there was more Natural light in the restaurant. Now onto the food… We ordered the arancini special with meat — they were so delicious… but missing the meat so that was a bit disappointing. We also ordered the spicy clams and sausage which did not have much taste. The bread that was served in the paper bag was tough and cold. You can sell me on restaurant based on warm fresh bread alone — I usually eat the whole basket– but we hard touched this cold bread. We got the vodka sauce chicken pizza(high st maybe?) and after waiting 45 minutes for it to come out, the pizza was completely burnt and when we asked for a side of sauce, the waitress noticed the pizza and offered for the chef to make us a new one and apologized for the inconvenience. She was very nice and attentive for being so busy during fairports big weekend. The second pizza we received was a world of difference and we loved it. I would definitely recommend it if you’re thinking of going.

Ordered some pick-up pizza. We had the: Roselawn, Galusha and Main. The crust was dry and hard. The Galusha was great, as was the main. The Roselawn was a seafood pizza(scallops and shrimp) — unfortunately it was wicked fishy. We had the wings as an appetizer; I highly suggest giving those a whirl.

We ate here Saturday night with another couple. It is small and very loud(with all hard surfaces), and a bit difficult to speak across our 4-top and hear each other clearly. This was a tough menu for me, as I rarely eat flour or sugar and the menu was about 98% pizza, pasta, and breaded meats, but I was able to enjoy wings for my appetizer, and their grilled asparagus and sirloin filet were perfectly cooked and delightful. My party was happy with the wine selection and the cannoli cake and lemon flan. One thing that I should mention though is that it was very busy the night we were there, and the kitchen had trouble getting the entrees to the table in a coordinated fashion and hot. My husband’s pizza came out first, alone, and cold. I suspect that they tried to hold it to wait for the rest of our entrees, and then gave up and sent it out to the table. That was a bummer. It really wasn’t very good at all, and my husband was disappointed. The other two dishes, both pasta, were happily enjoyed by our friends. Would I return? Yes, but since my options are so limited, it won’t be any time soon. I might get those chicken wings for takeout though. They are quite remarkable! I do wish that the owners of Compane would consider their guests who are diabetic or on no-sugar and no-flour diets for other health reasons and provide more options for us. There is so much more to Italian food than pizza, pasta, and breaded meats.

For someone who has tried pizzas for a lifetime, the brick oven pizzas at Compané are extremely flavorful with the perfect crunch on the crust. I ordered the Galusha pizza and my only regret was not being able to finish it all in one sitting. The staff was extremely friendly and my server was incredibly attentive. My only reason for not giving a 5⁄5 rating is that I had to wait for service at the bar prior to being seated. The bartenders were both very friendly and accommodating but they could have been quicker at taking my wine order.
