Fair selection of wine and liquor, most of the major varieties are available. Prices are average for the NY metro. Service is lackluster, I’ve been in a few times and never been greeted or asked if I needed help. Maybe I have been spoiled by the high end stores in NYC(Astor, etc.). The last time I was there after work, I handed the cashier my ID, and she held it out of sight to ask me how old I was. «Uh, 29 I think.» I thought she was joking; I have never been asked my age after handing over the ID. Then she scolds me that«you should always know your exact age before walking into a liquor store.» It’s been nearly a decade since I reached legal age, so next time I think I will go somewhere else and skip the inquisition.

It really bothers me when employees are just fucking idiots. I’m 24 years old & have been shopping here for years. I was completely harassed about my ID today by the cashier. Was asked my age three times, looked at me up and down — then was completely spotlighted when the cashier called for a manager over the microphone. When I proceeded to ask what the problem was — she ignored me. Then I was asked for another form of ID — which I then took out four, none were looked at. The manager proceeded to another counter and gave the cashier permission to let me buy fucking wine. Thanks for pissing me off today! Good thing I have wine to calm me down.

Yes, it’s a liquor store, but the staff here is so on point it makes for an amazing shopping experience. The people in the wine section know about wines, not just where they are from or located in the store, they know the wines. I came in after having a great bottle at a dinner and the salesman directed me to them but also suggested I try a different wine that was about half the price but tasted almost the same. He was right, it was a great bottle of wine for a considerable amount less. OK, so the people that work with the wine know their stuff, what about everyone else. While browsing the bourbons for a gift I started talking with the gentleman who worked their. I asked what he thought was good and reasonably priced for a gift and he directed me to 2 or 3 different bottles and then proceeded to tell me a bit about each one. Clearly this guy knew his booze, so after I chose a bottle for a gift, I asked what his favorite was, then I bought that for myself. It’s a little out of the way for me, but the service here has me coming back.

My favorite store for wine or liquor. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The store has never disappointed me in finding a specific wine. It is organized very well. They have tastings as well as a nice liquor department. Good for one stop if you are having a party or for a holiday.

What took me so long to check this place out? I’m not a wine-o but they have A LOT of wines to choose from all in different categories, by price point, region etc. The store itself is very large compared to other liquor stores. Not only do they have wines, but they also have a great selection of liquors that are easy to find fast. Prices are great and they also have sales and discounts on a lot of bottles. Definitely check this place out before your next party or if you need to grab a gift for someone. *Staff is also very nice and helpful* Can’t wait for Stew’s to open in January across the parking lot! I’ll be sure to check out the next wine tasting they have here.

When this store first opened I was so happy because of how close it is to my house. They have a vast selection of wines from around the world to choose from at some excellent prices. There hard liquor selection is a bit limited but if they don’t have what you are looking for they can certainly get it. I suggest talking to Sean Conrad. His knowledge of wines and spirits is excellent. He has never steered me in the wrong direction. You can tell he enjoys his job and knows what he is talking about. All said and done this is an all around excellent wine and spirits shop

Came here to buy wine for our wedding. Such a great experience; good service, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. We told her what we needed and she even suggested better options. My fiancée and I went in there thinking we would be lost, instead it was a smooth, easy shopping trip!

Had a great experience here! We were buying wine as wedding favors for our guests and Stew Leonards was just perfect. We had contacted them previously to tell them we would like to buy wine in bulk and they were more than happy to accommodate us. 4 of us came in(me, my fiancé, 1 of my bridesmaids and my mom) and all of us were welcome to wine taste before deciding on which 2 – 3 bottles we wanted. They let us try about 10 bottles multiple times before we made our selection. They also gave us 10 or 15%(i sadly can’t remember but it was a good deal!) off the cases. Over all, we bought nearly 100 bottle of wine for 800 $ — what a score! It was decent and we have gotten so many compliments from our guests on how much they have liked the wine.

I’m impressed. The place is nicely set up, warm and cozy. I know, not how you would typically describe a wine store. I found my favorite wine cheaper than I typically pay, and the staff was extremely helpful. Sean helped me out with some recommendations. He described the wines he recommended, and told me to give him feedback wen k return so he can get to know my palate. Who’s better than him?

YASS. I love shopping here, I could spend a decent amount of time in here just looking at all the wine they have to offer. They have all the wine separated by region, which I found very helpful and interesting. They have a cooler in the back for some chilled white wine if you’re looking to crack open that bottle ASAP. The staff is SUPER knowledgeable not only about the wine but about the liquor as well. Several times I have inquired about liquor quality, debating on my first bottle of scotch or trying out a new brand of vodka, and I was pleased by the quality of help I received. I’ve also visited multiple times while they have had wine tastings, which is always an awesome surprise. The reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars is because they don’t sell mini bottles, sometimes you just want a little something and when that time comes I have to go somewhere else. And I think the cashiers are sometimes less than friendly.

Not my favorite wine and spirits store but they do have a nice selection of wines from around the globe. Their liquor selection isn’t always the best. However, they do have an awesome selection of sakes. Prices are great too and they often seem to run sales so it’s easy to catch a bargain. When I’m in the area and I need wine, this is my go to place.

Since my better half, Lee M used my photo and wrote such a perfect review of the Spring Wine Tasting, I will only say that the customer service at this Stew Leonards is over the top… happy, helpful staff. Fantastic selection of wines and spirits. A pleasure just to stroll around the store and learn and discover,

Spring Grand Tasting — 22 tables, so much wine so little time. A few great great bottles and overall a good time had by all! Something here for everyone and anyone. and they even carry Breckenridge Bourbon which to me is so much better than Pappy.

I cannot say enough about this store. Each time I’ve been here(maybe a little too often), I am always greeted by friendly staff. They always offer to help or recommend when I seem indecisive — quite often too. They’re never pushy or annoying. The times I’ve gone with their recommendations, I’ve enjoyed their selection very much, so I would say they are very knowledgable and they truly care about the customer’s taste. The store is neat and organized. Staff is always available and check out is very quick. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re ever in the area or looking for a vast selection of alcoholic beverages.

Stew Leonard’s is a fine example of a great wine store on Long Island. It is large, has plenty of parking, has a huge variety of wines, is very clean, and the prices are great. I have not had a problem finding anything since the store has a good layout and everything is labeled well. I have found some wines that I have not really seen in other locations which is a big plus. I had found Stone’s Ginger Wine here that I had not had since I was in New Zealand. It brought back some fond memories. If you’re in the area and you are looking for wine, then look no further! I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this Wine store to anyone.

Stew Leonard’s Wines store has the most varied selection of wines and liquor than any other wine store anywhere around. This place is huge! They just can not be beat. I could easily spend hours perusing the labels of the multitude of regional and varietal selections they have. Prices are incredibly reasonable too. I think what truly sets Stews apart from other wine stores is their staff. These guys are true professionals and KNOW their wines inside and out. In speaking with a few of them, I’ve found out that some of them are actually sent to places like Italy to research different wineries to bring back for the store. How fucking cool is that and are you hiring?!? My favorite part about going to Stew Leonard’s is the amazing tastings they do. Certain select wines are always available for tasting, but on the weekends they will feature various wineries and distilleries from both local and international locations. Come early and you can get sloshed while being educated in the art of viticulture and oenology. 5 star establishment hands down!

Stopped in today looking for a French bottle of wine for my oenophile boss. I was quickly directed to a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable gentleman named Sean who I was assured was a fan of French wines. He was very patient with me and really took time to explain the differences between the wines and prices. It was the best experience I’ve ever had in a liquor/wine store. I can whole heartedly recommend Stew Leonard’s for it’s selection, prices, and friendly/knowledgeable staff. A+! You have just earned a very impressed new customer.

Apparently, this location is not part of the Stews chain. There is a big sign out front that says they’re not affiliated. But, it’s still a huge liquor store with a nice selection, a lot of samples to taste, and outgoing helpful employees. The prices weren’t that discounted, but we were impressed with the selection. Picked up a few nice bourbons and brandies. The Long Island Wine and Dessert Wine sections could use a little help, but overall this place was great.

I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. How could I have not known about the perfection that is Stew Leonard’s? Very recently a handful of people have told me that I need to come here to buy myself wine. I frequent a handful of wine stores nearby but almost always I’m looking for something I cannot find. This place is the answer to my prayers. The place is huuuuuge. If you’re looking for an obscure win, more than likely this is the place to get it. Prices are crazy reasonable and there’s lots of specials! Today I saw 2 different tastings, which was nice to see. It was especially nice to see the kosher for Passover wine tasting. Today we purchased 8 bottles of wine. 6 of which were 3 bottles for $ 18. A real steal if you ask me! The prices were great, space was clean, lots of selection, and there were many associates on the floor willing and eager to assist the many customers in the place. I think I’ve found my go-to wine store!
