The tortillas we got last night were really fresh and delicious. The best I’ve ever had them there before. The only reason I give 3 stars is because most of the servers were rude.

This place is actually pretty damn good for a chain restaurant but I couldn’t give it 5 stars. Basically because I don’t like the beans. Everything else is actually fucking delicious but the refried beans are nasty and I think having good refried beans is an important part of being a Mexican restaurant, even if it’s fake American Mexican. I like the enchiladas and the rice and the tacos.

Not bad. Nice and quiet on a rainy Monday night. I do wish that the salsa was a little less onion laden.

So bad serving portion… We asked for two house special fajitas and the skillet didn’t come hot to the table. Then my wife ask for some guacamole and they brought a tea spoon of guacamole and charged for a size of guacamole. The special looks good in the menu picture but in reality was super disappointing. Cold, 4 shrimp very little steak and chicken. The price for each fajita was about $ 18.00. We know about fajitas, we order fajitas in several restaurants before, but this one has been the most disappointed presentation. Flavor was ok.

Quick place to grab lunch especially after 1 pm. Our waitress was nice and very quick with our refills. The restaurant wasn’t that busy when we got there but please don’t seat two people who say their hungry on a small booth. We asked for a bigger one and they couldn’t accommodate. The restaurant wasn’t packed! I’m guessing it had something to do with the staff on-hand. They lost a star for that one since we had to rotate out our appetizers when our food came in! I wasn’t done munching on them!

This place is pretty lame. I used to work nearby and I would frequent this place for cheap eats, and they would ALWAYSFORGETMYORDER. I would always call at least 30 minutes in advance, and every single time, it would take 20 minutes to get my order. I was about to stop by last week with a friend and she said, «No, this place still sucks… they take forever to get your food to you» and I felt compelled to write this review as a result. Only stop here if you have the time… the food isn’t worth waiting 1000 years to get.

I’ve been meaning to write a review of this wonderful restaurant for some time now. The food, is outta this world! Soooooo good! And the amount of food for the price is amazing! !! I can’t wait to go back! Plus my waitress, Jaime, was so helpful, gracious, and attentive, hands down– best staff and Mexican food I’ve had thus far in Fayetteville.

This is my second time at this restaurant and it’s not too bad. The first time my wife and I came in I had the cheese quesadilla and she had some fried avocado thing. Our waitress was 5 stars! Her name was like Gi or something but she’s just awesome and deserves a raise! Today we came in and had Vee or something and she’s really nice and pleasant. Unfortunately when we came in today we stood for a few minutes and had an unpleasant hostess and she didn’t even say hi. She just took us to our seats and left. She could have welcomed us to the restaurant or something. Other than our hostess being completely rude and the other employees sitting at a table behind us complaining the ENTIRE time about their job and needing a drink .it was fine. You girls know who you are. It was 3 white females and one was the rude hostess. Anyway thanks Vee and Gi(if that’s your name) you both are great and the reason we will come back. Your other staff needs some work on their attitudes and customer service.

Sooooo… I am writing because I always write a review if it’s extremely great or if there is something worth telling. Ten years ago, I tried On the Border. A cockroach ran across my table. I notified the manager who acknowledged the fact that they had an infestation but they said they could not take care of the problem for such and such reasons. I was disgusted and did not come back till yesterday. I figured it’s been ten years and maybe the problem had been fixed. Nope. No. It’s soooo bad. The infestation was extreme. They have roaches everywhere. The bathrooms are nasty and the tables and menus are gross. Go figure huh. They even had dead roaches all around the entrance way. I took a couple pictures of the outside. I would be aware. I’m not the type to eat at a roach infested establishment so I had to share that their problem is extremely huge.

Bathrooms were pretty dirty. Menus were sticky. Glasses had dried food on them. Other than that, the food and service was ok. Probably won’t come back though.

Upon entering the restaurant we were promptly greeted by the hostess. When we arrived at our table, however, all four of the chairs were littered with food debris. The menus the hostess placed on the table were sticky and the covers of them were faded. Our server did not introduce herself when she came to the table to get our drink order. I found out that it was Tracy later on whenever she came to take our food order. Tracy only returned to the table one time to refill our drinks in the hour that we were dining in the restaurant. I ended up having to go over to the stand twice and get my own refill of strawberry lemonade. Now, she did not come and refill my cup but she most certainly ran over to the table and took my credit card off the table just as soon as I laid it down. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had and those of you that know me and the area well know that in Fayetteville North Carolina customer service is not a priority at most of the restaurants here. Even though her service was less than desirable I see you left her a decent tip. The only highlight of the visit was that the food was excellent. I have always been pleased with the quality of the food here at On The Border.

This visit saw the first time I have gone to OTB since being in North Carolina. Why? Dunno. Never got around to it until now. The area my guest and I were sat at was served by two waitstaff. Not too shabby. I got a delicious chicken burrito. My guest ordered a beef chimichanga which arrived as a chicken chimichanga. It was quickly replaced with the correct item and stricken from the bill. No fuss… no muss. Exactly as it should be but isn’t for some establishments. The final review would be three and a half if a half star was available. The service was A-ok and the food was pretty good. I sat back and wondered why not a four star rating… when it hit me that the food was nearly exactly as good as half a dozen other mexican grill places I’ve been to in neighboring areas. If it came down to exactly where I’d get my Mexican fix it wouldn’t be the name that brought me. It’d come down to the distance I’d have to drive.

This place is located right by Barnes and Noble off of Morganton in the same complex as the Carolina Ale House. It’s a definite Tex-mex restaurant. I was there with approximately 25 other people. There have been a lot of reviews about poor service, but we were greeted right away and for such a big group, the service was good. I don’t like that they don’t have Horchata, but that’s whatever. It seems like they have a fairly standard Mexican menu and put chili on a lot of it. The food is not bad, but not my cup of tea. Some of my coworkers got some huge portions with a burrito and the nachos. You also get chips and individual bowls of salsa. The chips are huge!(see picture) I got a lunch special. It’s a decent portion for $ 7.99. If you look at older reviews, the management takes criticism seriously and it seems they made adjustments. Service was good. Don’t let past reviews discourage you if you like Tex-Mex.

I always enjoy the food here. I got the chicken tortilla soup and I enjoy it because it tastes similar to the soup I had in Mexico. It is by the far the closest I’ve tasted to it. I got the you pick three. It got the soup, chicken tinga enchilada and a beef empanada. I like their rice and black bean combo. It was a quiet night since it was New Year’s Day. My boyfriend ordered the Dos Equis Fish tacos and those were on point.

My husband and I were here for lunch. It wasn’t crowded and the waitress was wonderful. She sat us right away, the food was as expected and fast. She only bother us once about our food. We were craving Mexican food and what we ordered hit the spot.

I have been to several on the borders around the different areas. This may be the worst one. There were 3 problems. There wasn’t anyone to greet me when I arrived in the front door. They were all sitting down on a bench. It wasn’t even crowded. Finally a guy greeted me to seat me. I was given a table and no one came to my titable for almost 10 minutes. During that time I saw several servers and a manager talking to the staff. THE couple behind me left because they were waiting longer than me. Finally a server came over. She was personable in the beginning. I order the ultimate fajitas. They included steak, chicken, shrimp and carnitas. I ordered guacamole as well. It took almost 30 minutes for my fajitas to arrive. She mentioned the plates were hot. The fajitas continued to cook causing my onions and carnitas to be burnt. She mentioned it was normal because this was hot and to just put the onions to the side. She could get me carnitas on a side plate. By this time my steak which I ordered medium was well done. I told her just to forget it. Paid my bill and left. During the time I waited for my food, approximately 4 groups left without being seated because there wasn’t anyone to greet them. I almost left the first time and now I can say I should have. Very disappointed and will not be back to this establishment. The restaurant cooking and service sucks. I am sure they lost more business because of this.

I went with my friends Saturday here, and I was pleased with my experience. The salsa was a little thin, but spicy. The chips were huge, and my Queso Chicken was basically«cheese with a side of chicken.» Overall, nice atmosphere, nice wait staff.
