History

Established in 1970.

Rolf M. Simons, founder of Rolf’s Import Auto Service, consistently provided quality, honest service and repairs for his customers. Rolf started the business in a small two car garage on the corner of Far/​West Drive and Steilacoom Blvd. In 1975, Rolf’s Import Auto out grew this small location and Rolf built the current Lakewood location. In 2006, Rolf’s Import Auto opened a Fife location on 20^th Street in conjunction with I-​5 Motors.

Rolf always went out of his way to ensure that his customers received the best in automotive service. With the addition of his son Mark Simons in 2001, who in turn took over the ownership of the business after Rolf retired in 2008, these practices have continued.

Growing up in the automotive industry, Mark has always had a fascination with luxury performance vehicles. His father specialized in these vehicles, and he passed on his passion for the quality in the manufacturing of these vehicles on to Mark. Mark began his own career in customer service, never forgetting his passion for vehicles. Mark became a Food and Beverage Manager at Fircrest Golf Club, later accepting a position as an Assistant General Manager for a Country Club in Midland, TX. Then, with the birth of his first child with is loving wife Sara, Mark decided to leave the Country Club industry to pursue his passion for luxury performance vehicles.

Mark began working with his father Rolf in December 2001. Mark purchased the business from Rolf in 2008. Now, with two locations (Lakewood and Fife), Mark looks forward to the challenges of running both locations as well as keeping up with the constantly changing technologies of the automotive industry.
