I’m not a big fan of Cracker Barrel to start with but my wife likes their breakfast so we go every once in awhile. She also has a fondness for their fried okra. It was her turn to pick where we went so we found ourselves in the Flagstaff Cracker Barrel for a late lunch. I figured I wouldn’t be eating anything later so I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. I’ve had this meal before at Cracker Barrel. The waiter was pleasant and attentive(almost overly attentive) but when my meal came it turned out to be almost inedible. The CFS tasted like a freezer burned piece of cardboard and the green beans had no flavor at all. The meal came with cornbread muffin and a biscuit. Both were stale. I could have complained and sent it back but instead I think I will just make every attempt to never go to Cracker Barrel again.

Great country atmosphere! It’s was my first time there and they were out of meatloaf & turkey dinner. The manager apologized & gave us free dessert. Overall great customer service. Willing to try breakfast, next time.

Came here for breakfast here yesterday. Our first visit to Arizona(from Hawaii) and first time eating at a Cracker Barrel! Waiting for a table took only a few minutes. Upon observation, all staff seemed friendly, efficient, hardworking & attentive to their customers. Our server ASHTON was AWESOME! Thank you ASHTON for making this a very enjoyable breakfast to start our 40th wedding anniversary vacation! The fresh blueberry pancakes(very tasty!), eggs & bacon were superb! The maple syrup warm in a cute little bottle. My husband had the ham & egg skillet w/warm biscuits were also great! Will definitely recommend this places to everyone!

Yuck. Waste of time and money. Staff is great but the food is awful. Lettuce tastes the same as the very poor bread. Want carbs deluxe? Then this is you stop

When traveling all over in our RV we stop at Cracker Barrels quite often. They do a pretty good job of serving Home Style Cooking. The Restaurants are always clean, prompt and friendly service is always a plus ! The Flagstaff Restaurant is just as consistent as the others we’ve been to.

As a party of 9 we expected a wait, we were told 15 –20 minutes and even agreed to split into 2 tables. 45 minutes later we watched them seat another party of 9 that arrived after us. We questioned them about it and we told that thier party was not willing to split tables so they were seated first and our tables were not ready yet. Awful experience we will not be back after this, not even an apology from the staff.

This was my first time at a Cracker Barrel, and I’m happy I went! Everyone was so nice, and the waitstaff was prompt. The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and even when busy, it still felt homely. Our waiter, Jarrett, was very attentive. He did get my sides wrong, but was really cool about bringing out the correct sides. Free extra sides! He made sure we were taken care of. I ordered the homemade chicken and dumplings. They were delicious! So creamy and warm, just what was needed after a long day on the road. The baked mac and cheese was wonderful. The steamed broccoli and baby carrots were incredibly soft. The biscuits, I already love biscuits, but these were so savory, they melted in my mouth!

Based on our visit 4÷19÷16, I wouldn’t rate the Flagstaff Cracker Barrel very high. Most of our food was bland and overcooked/dried out by a food lamp. And for the first time I’ve experienced, the grits were watery and tasteless. There were a few items done well: chicken fried steak, pancakes, and biscuits. The wait staff was great. We received excellent customer service. I’m afraid the problem was in the kitchen. I say skip this Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff.

I love Cracker Barrel because of its country-style atmosphere. Whenever I travel and find out that there’s one nearby, I make sure I eat there at least once. My family and I had dinner at the one in Flagstaff, AZ. Our server’s name was Kelly(a gentleman), and he did an outstanding job! He was very knowledgable, helpful, and hard working. He kept checking on us to ensure we had everything we needed. It was pretty busy during the time we were there but that didn’t stop him from providing excellent service! I ordered pork chops with rice and veggies. Unfortunately, the pork chops were dry. My family ordered other items off the menu and they were satisfied. I wouldn’t say I won’t go back again. I will probably try something else off the menu next time.

Cracker Barrel Flagstaff Arizona They don’t have these in California any more so I visit when I can. I LOVE their breakfast! Throw in the gift shop, décor, and atmosphere and you have a great place!

Great country-style casual dining fare. This place was pretty busy when I went(Thanksgiving 2015), so much so that they said it would be about a 45 minute wait. Luckily the wait was closer to about 20 – 25 minutes. While you wait, you can browse some of the kitschy stuff that they’ve got in the store section. Service is fast and the food is better than decent. There’s a HUGE menu, with a bunch of daily specials and drinks to choose from. From seafood to steaks, you’ll find something to suit your tastes on any particular day. Service is fast and friendly and you’ll leave with a happy stomach.

Our experience was great. We had to wait about ten minutes to be seated, but that’s expected from a popular food joint such as cracker barrel. We used the time to decide what we wanted from the menu while waiting. The food was served in about 12 – 15 minutes after ordering. No rush when you want it served right. The food was hot and fresh. It was delicious and had good taste. We ordered the limited time offer of the French dip sandwich and the home style chicken dinner special. Our server was Seth who was prompt on our various request. Look forward to eating here agian.

Meh. If this was the only restaurant left on the face of the earth after the apocalypse, I might eat here again. Otherwise, not so much. We arrived and got seated for a table of 11 in about 20mins, which was a bonus, but all in all everything was quite terrible. Drinks took forever — and let’s be honest, how long does it take to bring water to the table?! Then we ordered our meal and I was expecting something a bit more appetizing, but what came out was a disappointing plate of sad-looking eggs, a scoop of hashbrown casserole, and two silver-dollar-sized turkey sausage links. The biscuits and grits came out on separate«community» plate that got set in the center of the table. You’re welcome rest of the table for my biscuits and grits. My mom ordered the French dip sandwich with fries, which was supposed to come with coleslaw — it did not. When she brought it to the server’s attention, she was brought a tiny black plastic container of coleslaw; the kind of container you get to-go sauces in at other restaurants(trying to save on cost?!). I was blown away by that, but didn’t say much as the other part of the group didn’t get their food — didn’t want them to spit in anyone’s food — with the service we were receiving, I wouldn’t put that past anyone. Another one of the guests ordered soup, and it was COLD!!! This was brought to the server’s attention and he apologized that that was the last bowl of soup… Not sure if that was supposed to be the reason for the soup being cold or what. Nonetheless a different kind of soup was brought out, and it was hot at least. Then for the grand finale, we asked for 3 checks — just 3. Now I’ve been a server for many many years and I know it’s not difficult to split up checks for a table, especially when the parties on the same checks are sitting next to each other, but somehow our server managed to royally screw up all the checks; not quite sure how, but it took us a while to figure it out. Sad to say, because I used to like eating here but will opt for other options before I visit here again. Oh, and we didn’t get ANY drink refills during our meal. If you finished your beverage(in my case, water), you were parched throughout the rest of your meal. Good thing I bought myself a water on the trip up.

I had a pretty good experience with my last experience at Cracker Barrel in Florida so I decided to take my family for dinner here. If you haven’t been to one, its quite an experience. You sign up for a table near the entrance of the restaurant then you can peruse the shop as you wait for your table. There’s quite a bit of stuff to look at so you’ll keep yourself entertained. The wait goes by very fast. Host and waiters are all very friendly. Prices are very good for the amount of food you are getting but the quality of food is just ok. I had buttermilk fried chicken, corn, and sweet potatoes fries. The buttermilk fried chicken was pretty good but the corn tasted like it came out of a bag. Also, the biscuits and cornbread weren’t as good as I’ve had them before. Good place for a decent and affordable meal.

We were exploring Flagstaff and wanted something to eat as our«last meal» before hitting the Grand Canyon. I had always heard of Cracker Barrel, but never tried it. My son and I ventured in. We loved all the rocking chairs on the«porch» of the restaurant(we’re assuming they are for people who have to wait for a table). When you walk in, they have you walk through the gift shop. We were seated right away and they had a game at the table for us to play while we waited. The menu is a lot of Southern comfort foods(mac and cheese, turkey and dressing, chicken fried chicken, etc.) They do have a lighter menu so I was able to order grilled chicken with veggies. Two delicious meals for $ 20! We were pleased. Of course you have to walk through the gift store to pay your bill. We likened it to Disneyland when you come off a ride and it spits you out into the gift store. ha! Good experience. We liked the food and the price was awesome.

This is such a cute novelty shop. Ranges from adorable baby clothing to bags of bacon jerky and much more variety of items. Everyone is so friendly here! I absolutely loved how welcome I felt. Didn’t get a chance to check out the restaurant this time around but will be back for some delicious fall-off-the-bone ribs.

Normally I’m a Cracker Barrel junkie. When I saw the sign during our CA to MO road trip I made my husband swing through. We were starving. The service was great but the food was lackluster. The food just seemed old and the chicken fried steak was cheaper than the usual texture.

First time visiting this restaurant and was sadly disappointed. The atmosphere and environment was quite appealing and a cute idea with the store so upon arrival I was quite interested. That quickly ended. First, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. The soup came out extremely cold, not room temperature cold but cold as if it just came out of the fridge. I asked for another soup which she politely brought while telling me «it should be hot I heated it in the microwave longer». Now I guess not all soup has to be made fresh or as ordered but to admit to using a microwave… just a tad in aww of that. May as well tell me you poured it from the can too. I ordered the chicken and dumplings as well. Im not sure if it was the fact it looked like mashed potatoes with strips of chicken underneath this meal or that the dumplings tasted like starch but needless to say I took 4 bites and was done. The service however was positive. She was very apologetic and attentive. Great service is always a plus!

If you live in California visiting the Cracker Barrel is an event. California is one of the few states in the union that has no Cracker Barrel locations. I guess that country style comfort food doesn’t fly so well in the land of boutique dining. That being said anytime I find myself somewhere a Cracker Barrel is located I make a point to visit. Recently, I found myself in one of my favorite places Flagstaff, AZ on the morning of a trip to the Grand Canyon for a full day of hiking. I needed a hearty breakfast to get the day started off on the right foot(no pun intended). Arriving early at the Cracker Barrel I was delighted if not somewhat dismayed to find the parking lot nearly empty. I had visited this location in the past and always found it to be teaming with customers in the dining room and perusing the country store that is a staple in all Cracker Barrels while waiting to be seated. Thinking to myself that I had beat the crowds as I entered and was immediately seated in an all but deserted dining room I scrutinized the menu and waited for my server. I did not have to wait long before Ariel came by with a friendly, genuine warm greeting, took my drink order and offered to help with the menu. She promptly returned with my drink and took my order. I was in the mood for a big breakfast so I opted for the Double Meat Breakfast, which is described as Three Eggs, cooked to order with a full order of Bacon and Smoked Sausage Patties. Served with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with Real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n’ Apple Butter available upon request. Ariel efficiently processed my order and returned with the food in a reasonable amount of time. I had ordered scrambled eggs and she noticed before the plates were even on the table that the eggs were way over cooked. She immediately offered to replace them and I took her up on the offer. She returned in no time at all with a replacement order of eggs that were prepared better but still over cooked and not exactly scrambled. It was more like the cook had made an omelet with nothing inside. The eggs were folded over instead of scrambled. They were fairly edible and I wasn’t going to make Ariel go back for another trip. There was something seriously wrong with the Sawmill Gravy. It had the consistency of paste and had an odd back flavor that I can only describe as plasticy. Those of you who enjoyed Arrested Development will appreciate that. I felt like I was eating the plastic food that was on the table of the model home. The bacon was good thick sliced, crispy and savory. It’s hard to ruin bacon unless you burn it or under cook it. The sausage patties were small and over cooked to the point where they were as tough as hockey pucks. The Buttermilk Biscuits were soft, flaky and delicious as they should be. Too bad the sawmill gravy was not worthy of them however, the preserves helped to make up for the gravy. Unfortunately, the butter was frozen and could not be spread. I don’t have a great appreciation for grits but on occasion do enjoy them as a side. In addition to being cold the grits where tasteless and resembled cream of wheat more than county grits. Not that I need to say it but this was a disappointing meal. Even if there had been no expectation when I walked in I would have left dissatisfied. I want to make it clear. This was by no means an issue with my server Ariel. She was delightful and worked hard to make sure I was attended to. I never wanted for a refill and every request was fulfilled promptly and with a warm and friendly demeanor. The issue here was in the kitchen with either an inexperienced or incompetent cook and a management team that was not monitoring quality enough to catch it. This experience left me questioning if we are seeing the decline of the Cracker Barrel chain. Are they sacrificing quality to bolster the bottom line in a market that has become extremely competitive with the emergence of gourmet road food? I hope not. I hope that there is room in the market place for both county comfort food and gourmet boutiques and that that Cracker Barrel will once again become a trusted location for a hearty meal and the beginning or end of a long day on the road.
