I had the pedicure with the callus treatment, also a regular manicure. It is really worth it, I felt beautiful after a left and a week later the manicure still looks good.

Element is great. The ladies are very nice and it is very clean. It’s pricier than other places in the area but I think offers a nicer setting and service. Personally, I find the chairs/bench for the pedicures pretty uncomfortable as you don’t recline at all but are completely upright. But other than that, it’s a very solid place to get your nails done.

This place has great customer service. There are plenty of nail salons closer to me but I choose to walk the extra few blocks to come here. The space is chic, minimal. Customer service is great and the staff is professional. Love the citrus infused water and the homemade scrub they use for their mani’s and pedi’s.

I’ve been living off Cortelyou for almost a year now and have been hesitant to try Element because I was turned off by the high prices. Since moving from Kensington, I just continued to go to a place on Church Ave that’s $ 22 for BOTH a mani/pedi and they do an AMAZING job. But it was my birthday yesterday, so my boyfriend told me to «treat myself» at Element, especially since it’s so close, has good reviews, etc. So I went and just got a pedicure, which is already crazy expensive for $ 27 — is this LA? But whatever, the atmosphere is nice, music is playing, I got waited on fairly quickly, etc. As for the actual pedicure, I’m 5′ 6″ and the chairs are very uncomfortable, especially because my legs are too long for the bowl. The chairs don’t adjust and are completely upright, like a church pew. My technician was fine — got a nice little leg scrub and massage, but truly nothing better than my place on Church Ave. I was going to spring for the $ 8 callus remover but decided against it(my place does it for $ 2) and I figured I’d just go to the beach this weekend and let the sand do its work. She was done in about 15 minutes(my usual place is so meticulous I’m in the chair for at least 30). Bottom line: like Jekyll and Hyde in the city, you are truly only paying for the atmosphere/experience of this place. I obviously wouldn’t bring a gaggle of «brunch» girls to my hole-in-the-wall salon on Church, but if it’s just you, definitely look elsewhere. It’s a shame there aren’t places closer that do a better job, but Church isn’t too far!

I feel obligated to warn all Unilocalers of the high prices before I give my review: this place is pricey. It’s up to you to decide if the services are worth it. The total for my mani + pedi(normal, not gel) plus tip rounded up to about $ 50. It’s steep for what I’m used to around marine park where a mani + pedi with tip is about $ 30. I’m giving this place 5 stars either because it’s actually a great place or because I’m just used to the filthy nail salons in marine park. Dunno, but either way, this place is clean, new, and the service is good. Without an appointment on a Saturday afternoon, I waited only about ~2 minutes. I was immediately offered water, citrus water, or tea. The nail paint options were fantastic; lots of colors and many different brands. I didn’t get gel but there were also many gel options. The pedicure was very relaxing; although the chairs didn’t have massage options, the chairs were comfy and new. The normal pedicure included an orange scrub which smelled great and left my ankles very soft. My pedicure lady was gentle and I didn’t feel rushed in any way. My manicure was also pretty great. No complaints. Oh, also, the other reviews are right about the great music/music videos. This spot is one of the best, if not the best, in the area but I may have to cut back on brunches or dinners to be back here soon. #firstworldproblems, I know.

Best nail salon experience. Very clean, everyone is friendly. They offer you tea or water when you arrive. The shoulder rub after your nail service is great.

The Cortelyou strip is by far the best thing that could have happened to Ditmas Park, including Element Beauty Lounge. I love that the place is super clean, fresh and modern. Everybody is English speaking and there’s no language barrier. I usually come here for manicures and eyebrow waxings. I have never had an issue with any of the work they do. They’re solid and absolutely worth the steep prices.

My friend and I had an awesome spa day here(courtesy of my awesome husband)! It took us forever to decide what we wanted but we both eventually settled on the element pedicure and citrus manicure. They have a great polish selection, an abundance of colors and brands. I also booked a 60 minute hot stone Swedish massage while my friend chose a 30 minute chair massage. The massages were great & we loved our nails! So much so that we were still raving about our manis & pedis a week later! I didn’t get my nail tech’s name since my friend and I were so engrossed in conversation the entire time— but the service was incredible and I’ll definitely be back!

Great nail salon! Very clean and beautiful décor. Took my mother there for a surprise birthday manicure. No wait and they offered her tea while they worked. The employees were all very polite and welcoming. They have iPads at the drying station to entertain you. Standard manicure was $ 15. Will definitely be back!!!

After lunching on Cortelyou, our group stopped by on a Sunday. I wasn’t planning on having anything done at first. I’m not really a mani/pedi type, but sitting there looking at my hands, I decided to give them a shot. My fingers are cracking terribly, tips of 5 of fingers, and some nasty, painful splitting cuticles. The combination of the cold weather, and wearing leather work gloves, I believe sucks the moisture out of my skin, I needed some relief. The coconut milk soak with hot wax manicure, sans polish($ 45) sounded like it would help, so let the tech work her magic. And she did! Took her time, revived my hands thoroughly. Nails, cutes, trim away all the dead split stuff, sanded my callouses. Then soak, hot wax, and gently roasted in heated mitten like devices. She finished up with hand and arm massages, along with working some lemongrass type ointment into my hands. My hands looked their best in a long time, but the FEELING of no throbbing finger pain as before, and pain free stretching of my hands, absolutely wonderful! Highly recommended! The rest of the troupe tried the 30 minute massages, and said they felt incredible afterwards, so keep Element in mind for not just nails.

By far the worse place I have been too. Make sure to ask the prices before you start since the prices increased dramatically since they have opened. No tip on the card so make sure to bring cash so workers can get some cash while the management must suck. Oh and ask them to clean the tub before you sit for your manicure because they DONT unless you ask. Anyway, not worth the money

For $ 27, I got an awesome pedicure. It’s very clean and they offered me lemon water when I sat down. Probably one of the nicest salons and best pedicures I’ve ever experienced. I’m so glad I found a great spot!

Element is my new favorite nail salon. It’s clean, comfortable and all the technicians are superb. I get the mani pedi with a leg and back massage every time and walk out feeling like a new person. The best part is that my nail polish stays for 2 weeks without chipping. Treat yo self. :)

This review is well overdue! I first went to Element almost a year ago on a snowy day, when I was feeling blue and wanted a little pick-me-up. I had recently moved into the neighborhood and wanted to treat myself to a manicure and pedicure(with the callus-remover add-on). I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the nicest nail salon that I have ever been to(I visited a TriBeCa salon that rarely allows walk-ins, and it was a disappointment compared to this gem!). I visited on a day that was not busy at all, so the lovely technician(forgot her name as it was so long ago) really spent her time and did not rush. The end result was a perfect manicure(lasted over a week without chipping!) and a great pedicure(super smooth feet after). I don’t get my nails done often, but this is a great once-every-couple-of-months treat for me.

A Cortelyou Road gem! I decided to treat myself to a pedicure($ 27), plus the callus-remover add-on($ 8) and ten-minute foot massage add-on($ 10). SOWORTHIT. My feet are baby-smooth, and I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I had Pema, and she was friendly but very professional, bringing me lots of magazines and citrus water throughout my session. For my foot massage, she actually set a timer, which I appreciated, because I feel it keeps everyone honest. When the timer went off, she was still working on my second leg, and kept going for couple of minutes so each foot had the same treatment. I almost fell asleep in my chair I was so relaxed. The space is very clean and modern, and the staff is welcoming. If you live in the area, this should be your go-to!

So far this place is neat & friendly, a lil on the pricey side though. Very nice & my mani & pedi dried super fast. Be prepared to spend a hefty amount of money.

First things first– it’s clean. Main reason for 5 stars! Beautiful white interior and exterior refreshing and comfortable. As soon as you walk it your greeted and even though they were busy the 30min wait didn’t feel so long. I went for a gel mani and reg pedi and even though the price was crazy for that part of Brooklyn I believe it was worth it go have a clean(all their equipments came from a sterile packet and thrown away after use) comfortable experience. Your offers tea or citrus water and my technician took care of me no problem. Even after she made a mistake she acknowledged it quickly and fixed with no fuss no worries. I loved the way my mani pedi came out and overall experience! I found my new spot. Will be going back soon!

I’ve lived in Kensington and Ditmas park my entire life. I usually go to Church Ave. to do my nails because there are tons of nail salons there. But eversince I saw a news-report on PIX11 news about how dirty NYC nail salons are, I’ve hesitated on getting my nails done at all! But I stumbled across this salon and I gave into the temptation of pampering! And since I started going to yoga classes near Cortelyou Rd., this salon has been very convenient! I t’s very fancy looking but it is expensive, which is why I took ½ a star off! The first time I went, my pedi alone was like $ 31 or so and it was nothing special! And they don’t even have massage chairs, which is why I took another ½ a star off!!! I really like to sit in a massage chair while I get my toes done, and you would think that for that price, they would offer that! Especially since, cheaper salons do have them! But I think cleanliness is the most important thing and this place seems to follow all the health codes! I noticed their tools come in those sealed bags(like the ones in hospital that carry the syringes). I’ve never seen those at other salons in this area, therefore, I was sold! I went back for a Mani and Pedi Combo on a Saturday morning around 11am. It wasn’t too busy, and I was attended right away. They offer you water or tea! And at the end, while you dry your nails, they finish it off by giving you a lil neck massage; nice touch! For a mani and pedi combo on a Saturday I paid $ 40 plus tip and tax. I think M-W, it’s a bit cheaper.
