Sub-par pizza at a high cost. Poor service and employees have bad attitudes. Never again.

Ironic that I now read other reviews noting the scarcity of sauce. In October, we had two large pizzas delivered with little to no sauce. Therefore, we called back and asked for a credit to our form of payment. Apparently, that is not their policy. The irritating part was that we were treated as a nuisance. In the end, we were able to argue ourselves into a credit for two large pizzas. Today, we called to use said credit and were told that we only had a measly $ 6 credit. The manager(again) treated us like a nuisance and was generally rude and questioned that I had ever even received a pizza or a credit(funny that the kid on the phone prior to talking to the manager said that I had a credit for two large pizzas). I am not that person who is always looking for something free; I am a successful business man myself who stands behind my product and mostly takes my customer’s feedback as truth. In the end, I think the manager gave into the two large pizzas simply because I was beginning to wage a war on the premise that she was so unbelievably bad. DONOT order Mio’s pizza. The pizza is sub par and the manager is worse than the pizza. Pay the extra money and get Donatos delivered or better yet, drive to Buena Vita in Dayton, KY. If all other pizza joints have been hit by a meteor and you must order Mio’s, be sure to politely beg them for enough sauce to meet«your standards» and cross your fingers that you don’t have to talk to the manager. So, the best part, here is a picture of how the replacement pizzas came with once again, NOSAUCE… you can’t make this up!):

Very bad experience the past few times we’ve been. Love their pizza but can’t deal with the constant mess-up with our order, bad service and uncleanliness. Pizza has been made incorrectly the past few times we have been. Never does someone take the time to even tell you what the delay is about or an apology offered. Once our pizza was actually made incorrectly twice. Our most recent visit brought us dirty plates and a 25 minute wait for our pizza. Yes, again the pizza was made with the wrong toppings. we know this from hearing them discuss in the back but never did the server come by and let us know what was going on or how sorry she was. No apology or offer to comp the drinks as most any restaurant I’ve ever been to does when they mess your order up! Bathrooms are not clean and some of the staff need to do a hygiene check and a lesson in customer service. There are too many other pizza places that get it right or if not make sure you know how sorry they are for the mix-up. I’ve never seen people care so little for the customers that keep them in business. Goodbye Florence Mio’s!

Over a year ago I would have surely given Mios a 4 or even 5 star rating. The pizza was good. I loved the garlic crust and I even more so loved the salads and pastas. I was okay with paying a little extra to order the more expensive pizza to be delivered to my house, eat in or for pick up. Slowly I noticed things start to lower in quality. A change in quantity in the salad serving size. Example: when I would order a a salad to be delivered at home the portion was big and filled the entire clear tin in which it was delivered. … I then ordered the same salad while in the restaurant and the portion was closer to a quarter size of what I was use to getting in a delivery order and the same price. Other things like missing ingredients or wrong ingredients. A gentleman standing at the back door smoking with the door open to the kitchen and being barely over the threshold however when he came back in he did at least wash his hands… I just kept writting it off. I decided to start taking my business elsewhere half the time. Then today I decided to go back. I ordered two pizzas for pick up. When I got there they were close to being done. Then it happened.. the young lady with a pony of unkept hair took my credit card payment for my order, turned around and used her hands to push open the swinging doors, then immediately walked to the back of the oven(in clear site) pulls what was about to go through the oven and uses her fingers to smash dowm the ingredients and spread them around. I was shocked. Like that is gross… I watched her serve sodas to the woman before me, take her payment, touch the computer take my payment, rub her hands on her shirt, touch a pen that I and the other woman touched… touch the nasty dirty swinging doors… then squish her fingers into what im going to assume was the gentleman sitting at the tables pizza. Dear man I hope you got your flu shot. Sorry Mios but you have lost my business and I hope the owner who I assume cares about this cute little once great pizza spot sees this and makes some changes.

Generally you’ll get these one-star reviews with a lot of hot-air on how the reviewer just didn’t like the food at all. If one star wasn’t the lowest, I’d give Mio’s a negative one-star. I felt good about the prospect of having a deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza! So I picked Mio’s over the standard chain pizza. I’d never had it before and the thought of familiar Chicago-Style Deep Dish was inviting. So I placed my order online with relative ease and, 25 minutes later, I arrived to pick it up. The insides of the operation were fairly quiet and had just a few people dining in. It was dated and honestly, you can’t ask for much here. My order was ready pretty quickly and it still felt plenty warm. This was a plus, as I was recalling the previous scathing reviews of how their food wasn’t scathing hot when they got it. I ordered the spinach bread and a small Chicago-style deep dish spinach and mushroom. There’s a picture that goes along with this review to show them. The pizza… was sad. Just a sad, sad representation of its namesake. I tried to pick up a slice to put on the dish, and the bottom of the crust was soggy and broke awake. The rest of the pizza was okay in this area. The first bite elicited some strange texture, and I realized it right away that these were classically canned mushrooms. The smell of the mushroom juice was still fresh on it… ugh. The only redeeming thing about the slices were the cheese. I actually considered throwing out the thing after the first slice. Luckily I had the spinach bread to at least attempt to salvage and cleanse the taste from my mouth. But even this bread is a crock. They advertise a variety of different«breads» but all you’re getting is a hoagie bun with some toppings and cheese, lightly baked, for $ 4+ As I ate all this… half-way through I had to just downgrade this to a one-star place. If the rest of the Mio’s location operate on this model/menu, it’s a shame. No, it’s actually a disgrace. This will be a place that I’ll dissuade people to try or frequent. Not just because it’s bad, but you could spend your hard-earned money on a much better fare.

Place is a joke! Order a pizza and it came cold. Called them and told them about the situation, was told that I had to call back because manager was busy and couldn’t talk to me… Are you kidding me??? Manager ends up calling me back and was very RUDE!!! He said he didn’t believe that the pizza could have been cold! He said I was making this up!!! We wasted $ 33.00 dollars on pizza that we couldn’t even eat! DONOTGOHERE!!!

The Florence location is not very good Ordered a large pepperoni and there was no sauce on it. I called to tell them what the issue was, and the manager was very argumentative. Told me he could get in trouble for giving me a credit.

I REALLY like this place and I think they work hard especially with their online business because I see all of the staff on the computer near kitchen door but they need adequate staff in dining area and there is a cleanliness issue. Clean up and fully staff to be a really good«mom and pop» type place.

Since moving back to this area we have found Mio’s convenient, consistently better than local pizza chains and prices in line with the quality.

This was a tough one for me. Being originally from the Chicago area, I am a big time pizza snob. The problem is, I have never been a deep dish fan. I know, that doesn’t make sence, right? I was always told, growing up, that deep dish was tourist pizza. The places that we went to served the best thin crust pies in the world, but no deep dish. I would occasionally go to a few of the«world famous» places downtown, but I was never REALLY impressed. Not really pizza and all hype I thought. A couple of months ago, while in Chicago for a visit, with Cincinnati freinds, who wanted to try a good Chicago style Pizza, my nephew recommended a well known deep dish pizza place. After that night, and much to my suprise, my pizza tastes have changed forever. Well within my top five pizza eperiences of all time. I find myself craving this stuff all of the time… but this is not about that Chicago pizza place. Already a fan of Mio’s thinnest crust(4 stars?), I remembered that they had deeep dish on thier menue too. So I grabbed junior, who is my little side kick and co-pizza snob, and we headed over to Mio’s. Atmosphere is cramped, but there is nothing wrong with that. Cool artwork and reading materials. Decent beer selection, blah, blah, blah(but that isn’t why you should come here). I eagerly ordered a medium stuffed pie. Sausage and mushroom of course. If you decide to do something like jalepenos or pinapple, I would recommend sticking with Papa J***ns, Dom****s or any of the typically awful Cincinnati offerings. I picked the stuffed over the Chicgao style, because one of the other customers had odered a Chicago style and it didn’t look as thick as what we had in Chicago a few months prior. The pie was VERY tasty and perfectly prepared. But having said that, if you were to really analize it, the crust, sauce, cheese, sausage and even the mushrooms were inferior to the pie from Chicago. So why would I give it a five star? Because it is as close to the real thing as you are going to find, without driving five hours and also, I ate the pizza 5 days ago, and I find myself craving it every day since. The only thing that I wish I would have done differently, would be to order a large instead of a small. I will be back. Probably in the next couple days! Dean Florence, KY

Over the holidays had an opportunity to try Mios with friends. The atmospher is a little tight but the décor is nice and it’s clean. The food is ok. The hoagies are good but the pizza could be better compared to the competition. The prices are ok. I may order hoagies from them but for pizza, I’ll probably stick with the others around the area.

My daughter and I went to Mio’s today for the first time for lunch. My daughter loved it. She had the stuffed pepperoni single pizza. I tasted it and it was good. I just had the original pepperoni small pizza and it was good as good as well. However, for me, the sauce was a tad sweet. The service, on the other hand, was awesome! The prices were good as well. We will be back. Make sure to mention the specials. Otherwise, you will not get them. We realized too late that what we ordered could have been on the special and we could have saved a few dollars.

Following a recommendation from other Unilocalers — I decided to try this place. I have had stuffed pizzas before and this was probably one of the best stuffed pies I have had. The sauce on top seemed fresh(no can /paste taste). The crust was flakey … Just thinking about it I am having separation anxiety. I also tried the steak sub and all I can say is wow! — I don’t know if they have a traveling crew of keebler elves in the back making their sub rolls but was it good. I think the sub chains in the area have lost my business permenantly because I will go to Mios for my sandwiches. I ordered my meal to go and enjoyed a Blue Moon while I waited. The staff was friendly and the place was crowded(a very small seating section). A very strong recommend.

First off, the waitress was great and very friendly. The cooks are very vocal. The food was good. We ordered a New York style pizza. It was very big in diameter and very thin; good foldable pieces. We had ours topped with pepperoni, sausage and jalapenos. The bottom of the crust was covered in some sort of breadcrumbs. I can only assume it’s to keep the dough from sticking? Anyway, the crumbs were distracting and very messy. The pepperonis were good enough, as was the sausage. The biggest disappointment was the jalapenos. They used pickled jalapenos. I’m not a fan of pickled jalapenos on pizza. It gave the whole pizza a vinegary taste. The crinkle-cut fries were great. We will be going back, but skipping the jalapenos nest time.

Even the restroom passes the test. I’m making it a point to check out the princess’ room. It was everything I would want/need. CLEAN, well supplied, and cute. You could tell they care by the artsy pieces they place here and there. Ok, now on to the food, huh. Well, since we always get the stuffed pizza, I wanted to try something new. So ordered a steak hoagie with pizza sauce. It was good. Their tomato sauce is very good. The server remembers us now and knows our favorites. He is always friendly and does a great job. It’s nice to get that kind of service.

My husband really likes Mio’s. We ordered a Chicago style pizza and I thought it was just«okay;» I’d order something different next time. It seemed like a typical pizza place to me that has the added bonus of serving beer in the dining room.
