Let me begin with with a few points CONS — HOWCANYOUNOTHAVEWATERCRESS? — Service, why is it so slow? — They hate you when you want more beef. –Fj fish balls taste like gasoline. I know what good Fj fish balls taste like. Source: I am FJ –Fish Roe balls taste sour PROS — Fried Tofu Skin, different but on point. — Pork Broth, also on point one of the better ayce broths I have had. — Different beefs Advice: If you are going to put something on the menu, get the best. Then your seats would fill up more. You have a prime spot in Flushing yet sometimes you have empty seats. Theere should be lines out the door. Better training for your staff. Items need to be taken out faster. Faster your customer is full, the faster we leave. The slower we eat, the hungrier we get. It’s science Watercress. Come on bro, essential to hotpot.

EDIT: You can hotpot almost anywhere nowadays. Do NOT come here if you wan’t be treated with respect. Their laughable manager laughs in your face when you’re «being too serious» because of cultural differences. When a problem arises and you try to reach out to her, she’s nice for the first few minutes til she clearly shows she’s not here to help. She’s from China so she can laugh — said herself. If you’re americanized like myself, she will taunt you for being«too americanized like her daughter» and to not be so serious. Highlights: 1. Fried Mon tao(fried bread) 2. Fried tofu skin 3. Pork belly(thinly sliced)

Now my favorite place for unlimited hot pot in Flushing! Fresh food, cute baskets, spacious and elegant booths and tables. Wait staff was attentive and quick(although the crab meat sticks took a few tries) and the broth was very flavorful, loved both the spicy and herbal side so much. We went on a Friday night(new years day) around 6pm and didn’t have to wait. When we left there were about 2 – 3 groups waiting. A tip: make reservations through Unilocal to get the check-in 10% off! We didn’t do this :(

I found my favorite shabu spot. I love shabu, so I visit other places too, but this place is really nice. I love the pretty décor(they kept some designs from the previous Korean restaurant)… The food is great, they have really good customer service, and the restaurant is very clean. I recently tried the all you can eat for $ 25. This includes the meat as well, so I think guys would like it a lot. It’s worth the price for the taste and the quality. but you can also go with a la carte. One thing they can improve on is the space for the sauces. They just leave a few bowls with different sauces on a counter. it’s something I would do at home, so I think they can definitely improve on that.

I am always looking for new places to eat hot pot; I came across this place on Unilocal and decided why not give it a try. My boyfriend and I were seated in the front of the restaurant. I didn’t get to check out the rest of the place, but it looks modern. The kitchen is open, so you can see in. The bathroom is located downstairs, which is not optimal. They give you two menus: Full menu and All You Can Eat menu. We thought is would be less expensive for us to get the All you can eat for $ 24.95 per person instead of ordering from a la carte. Though the all you can eat option is limited. We got the Ying Yang soup base because I like spicy flavor but my boyfriend does not. The soup base was aromatic, but not as spicy as I prefer. We ordered fatty beef, chicken, assorted mushrooms, assorted tofu and bean curd skin, spinach, bok choy, cabbage, taro root, corn and glass noodles. All were fresh. They have a make shift sauce station, which offers the key ingredients but is somewhat limited compared to other hot pot restaurants. The bowls holding the sauces/ingredients are shallow, so the staff is frequently refilling it. This makes it more sanitary because if any sauce gets contaminated, it can easily be tossed and will not be too much waste. On the flip side, if it gets crowded, then I can see there be a bottle neck at the sauce station as the sauces/ingredients will run out quicker. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we asked for something. We went on a Wednesday night and while the tables seemed full, it wasn’t noisy at all. Overall, my boyfriend liked this place the most because he felt it was very clean. I thought it was good but am undecided on my favorite hot pot place.

This is one of the best all you can eat hotpot I have ever been to. The meats are fresh, everything is clean and nicely presented. Although the food choices are limited, they still got most of the main ones covered, and it s only 24.99 per person, which is a great deal with the quality they ve provided. On top of that, we got a 10% off by checking in Unilocal!A friendly reminder from one of our servers~ The only down side I would say is there s a 2 hrs time limit which I personally think is a bit short for hotpoting(since it requires much time to get the water boiled at the beginning and between and more time to get the food cooked)

All you can eat buffet with a great broth for hotpot. Excellent and great server. We decided to order all you can eat. Food came but it turns out that the meat comes in the slowest fashion. If you have a table of 5 the meat came an average of half an hour per plate.(Using us as an example) per plate is about 5 – 6 bites.(So each person a bite). I don’t know if you can call it all you can eat unless they put a statement on top that saids food comes extremely slow. While I was getting dipping sauce, another customer complained. I turned around and said«I agree» then the management had nerves to come over to give us excuses for why the food is slow.(Really she is just ranting to us in a hostile tone, because she is mad that the other customer gave her a complain). This is really not the way to deal with a complain. How can she have the nerve to come over to justified bad services. Ruin the dinner even more since she has to walk over to rant. I believe they capitalized on the fact that it takes about 20−30min for your stomach to feel full. So by the time the food arrive you feel full, and you only ended up ordering 2 – 3 rounds or less. Is a scam in a way because they are cheating you base on the fact that they tell you is an «all you can eat», but in fact the slow food server makes it a not«all you can’t eat». It should be named«all you can eat with a slow delay on serve in food». I can’t speak to the pay per dish, since that might be faster. Servers are great thought lots of energy.

I should start with they did not offer lunch special even when there was a big sign outside the window indicating lunch special on weekday, which was a Tuesday that I went. However, my friends and I were fine dining there in their regular price which is the same for dinner and lunch. As we were dining, there were roaches crawling on our table and the waitress ignored us and pretending it’s normal to have these babies around. The choices for saucing was very limited and all were fill in a Chinese small rice bowl on the counter for us get. There was another incident happened when my friend arrive to this place in a party of 4. The hostess nicely sat them down when only two people has arrived. Few seconds later, a lady walked over who claims she is the boss and told them to get up and leave the table due to the fact that not all party has arrived. She also mentioned the hostess is new, she didn’t know anything and you guys are not suppose to be seated. She was very rude with no manners as per the owner and treated the customers with disrespect. Will never return.

I love this hot pot place! Their all you can eat food is all very fresh. The sauces and soup are very good as well. They give you good portions and are very generous. I think what makes the food and atmosphere wonderful is the service. We’ve been there so many times the waiter recognizes us and always serves our table. He ALWAYS has a smile on his face and always brings the food fast. I always forget to ask his name… but he has a little Mohawk cut. Sometimes, they offer blue crab as part of the all you can eat… which is fabulous. I just made myself hungry writing this review!

Tried this place out for the first time, and they were pleasantly better than anticipated. 10% off your tab just for checking in on Unilocal! They are everyday AYCE hotpot now and they include sodas in these awsome mason jars, plus complimentary water melon slices which I totally didn’t see coming… Great surprise! They are lacking abit in the seafood selections for AYCE but it’s fresh at least. Their meat is of good quality, and they take credit cards. Cons: –Very small and limited sauce selection .but has the bare essentials to make it work decently –Low ceiling from the stairs down to the bathrooms… so anyone taller than 5’5″ watch your head –Sodas came 3times and it was all flat… Had to ask for not flat… but Chris did rectify the situation afterwards, tho he wasn’t surprised about the flat soda situation :-/that’s not a good norm to have !! The broth base is very good, especially comparing to other locations at similar price range, everything here was relatively new and well air conditioned. :) my boyfriend and I enjoyed our first visit and will be returning! They were friendly and welcoming towards non-Asians and speaking English is always a plus In flushing. P. S.: folks… Order what you can finish and they would bring more food quicker and less hesitant about bringing larger portions.

The place is clean and the service is decent. My one waiter was really friendly, but the others were ehh. You have two options: all you can eat or a la carte. The all you can eat menu is definitely limited and my husband and me decided it would be best to just order a la carte and get the things we like and it would come out about the same in price. We ordered our usual, and while the supreme beef was tasty and worth the price, they wanted to charge almost $ 4 for taro and lotus root!!! I’m sorry, but because it was $ 4 and I know I can go to a grocery store and buy the same amount for $ 1.10(presliced as well), we decided to only get the taro. The watercress was a decent amount. Whatever you do, don’t get the hotpot dumplings! The waiter and my husband and I did not know what was inside them! They had fish balls filled with roe which gives them some points for sure! The soup base is not that flavorful and the condiment section is sub par. All in all, I would say this place is good if you don’t want to wait in line for hotpot at little lamb, but it would not be on the same level.

The food was good, but I don’t necessarily have high standards for hot pot — it’s the Asian version of pizza standards for me(good even when it’s bad). I gave 2 stars because of the service. The waitress was appalled that my gf and I wanted to share one lunch special(we weren’t very hungry). She double-checked with us and even audibly asked the other workers about it with incredulity as if she had come across a unicorn giving birth to baby Jesus. Made us feel a little awkward and wonder if we should spend more than we needed to(turned out the one dish was plenty). When we tried to use the 10% discount from Unilocal, the waiter said the manager wasn’t there and that meant we couldn’t use it. At the end, when I accidentally forgot to fill out the bill, the first waitress hovered next to me as I began to fill it out and add tip. No one likes to be pressured when paying a bill.

Love the food here. It’s very presentable but the service could be better. I requested plum tea and when I asked for a refill I was being served by another waiter who had NO idea what I was drinking. Which made me question what my original waiter gave me in the first place. The staff is pretty friendly though and they did help out a lot in terms of how to save money and what’s the best meat/veggie to put in your soup. A little goes a long way and I love the spicy soup seasoning. When you are done eating they bring you your check with a sweet little surprise. Sliced watermelons! What a lovely way to end my meal. I will definitely be coming back again.

For a hotpot restaurant, I wouldnt say this place is particularly the best or amazing. Its good, definitely, but nothing catches my eye at this place except for their fried tofu skin. It’s clean and hospitable. Great. But, come on! For AYCE, this place is extremely limited. Esp for seafood lovers like me. –Their shrimp, I highly dont recommend. It never tastes fresh.

For some reason, I was craving hot pot and while contemplating between the many options in Flushing, I decided to go with the closest one. I don’t regret my decision. Initially, I looked at the a la carte option, but decided the cost would quickly add up and I would be better off with the«all you can eat» option. I might have been wrong since I went for lunch and I probably could’ve managed with the a la carte option, but didn’t want to feel restrained. The soup bases were good(original and spicy), refreshing and the pots are big too. The«all you can eat» option does limit the types of meat and other veggies, etc. so if you’re picky on your beef type, skip the AYCE. The portions are big, so you don’t need to overdo it on the first run. Very good meal overall. We got the fatty beef, fish filet, shrimp balls, 3 kinds of mushrooms, napa cabbage, bok choy, glass noodles, udon noodles, etc. The cost is a bit pricey considering it’s hot pot. I’m used to the $ 20AYCE and you don’t have to pay tip since you cook your own food. But here, it’s $ 24.99 for AYCE per person and you have to pay tip on top. I guess one plus is that if you check in(wait until you ask for your check since you have to show them), you do get the 10% off. It just takes care of the tax you’d pay, but it’s better than nothing.

Came back for another visit with some friends. Great food, good atmosphere. We had a party of four old friends catching up. Ended up staying there for almost 4 hours, unlike most restaurants, they didn’t rush us to turn the table(even though it was actually pretty busy for a Monday night). The staff was super nice and attentive, the owner even came out and chatted with us for a bit while she checked in on the tables and send us complementary ice cream at the end of the night(red bean… yum!). Will definitely be a return customer. Still giving it a 5. A few updates about the restaurant though. — their soup base is still my favorite, could drink this stuff all day, now they’ve also added tomato based vegetarian option which is nice if you want a lighter broth. — they still don’t have a drink menu, but when asked, they have a nice selection of wine, beer and liquor available. You have to ask. Beer was even on special. But again, not reflected on the menu. — as per the last couple of times, the food was super fresh. In addition to the usual meats, we tried fish this time, the fresh fish fillets were so good we ended up adding a couple of orders. Fresh and buttery melts in your mouth texture after cooking in broth.

Pretty decent hot pot place. Like other reviews said, the service is definitely better than other hot pot places in flushing. Everything we ordered was fresh and the vegetables looked fresh and clean as well. Soup bases were decent, although the spicy soup wasn’t as flavorful as I wanted and it had a lot of little pieces of hot peppers that was a bit annoying. Décor is cleaner and more modern than other hot pot places. The ayce included sodas and turned out to be around $ 26 dollars per person without tax and tips. Oh we wanted to redeemed the 10% check in offer with Unilocal but was told it was only is valid if you make a reservation. Not sure if they just made that up

Walked in with a party of four and we were greeted by three employees. Manager opened the door for us and the waiters were extremely courteous and polite. We were given menus right away and our server asked if we wanted anything specific to drink, rather than just bring over the usual tea/iced water. Service was excellent As for food-the soup base was good and so was everything else. I recommend their plum drink for better consumption. Sauce station was super clean and the 沙茶sauce wasn’t watered down

I have been here twice since my first review and have some updates: 1) The sauce station is finally open for use! No more waiter painfully carrying around a tray to every table that needs it. 2) Service is getting better. Wait staff is a lot more attentive with refilling soups and waters and not missing any ingredients. One friend did complain about how our waiter practically hovered by the table and it made him feel uncomfortable. The way I see it: better to be over-serviced than under-serviced. 3) AYCE is only on Mondays thru Thursdays. I came once on a Sunday and they didn’t have the option, but all the food we ordered came out without us needing to follow up, so that was good. Our final bill was a little more than what we would’ve paid with AYCE though, so in the end, AYCE is definitely more worth the money. 4) Apparently writing any number other than«1» on the AYCE menu doesn’t really matter; they’ll still give you just one portion. Again, it’s not a big deal since it’s AYCE and we can order more if we want to later.

After a long day of shopping, me and my aunt dine at Hot Point Pot for the first time because Unilocal stated that they opened about 5 weeks ago. Broth: Half &Half(Yin-Yang) Pot Meats: Supreme Fatty Beef and Supreme Lamb Shoulder Seafood: House Shrimp Balls Tofu & Noodles: Tofu Combo Platter and Glass Noodles Vegetables: Spinach The ingredients are so fresh and delicious. Definitely a great spot as the weather is changing!
