I never understood the menu(pictures), until the patrons come-in. All walks of life, races, creeds, colors, and sexual orientations served here(AWESOME)! Everyone how comes here doesn’t speak the language and they truly serve the community! Small business, I fully support that! Good job!

Had the steak and eggs with hash browns. Very good for the price point. Only issue was the flies, there were flies everywhere kinda gross but oh well it was summer time I guess. There are pictures of celebs and prominent NYC figures all over the joint. Also had the chicken quesadilla, thing is huge and very filling! Found a new spot that I will come whenever I’m in the area.

This place was just ok for me. It is cozy and very old looking. There is parking. The wait staff is very attentive and the food comes out very quick but I am rating the food and it is just ok. I had the banana pancakes and i bit into chunks of bananas. I think they just dumped a bunch of bananas in the batter. I though it would taste like bananas not actually eat a bunch of bananas. It was very odd but the eggs with hashbrowns were ok as well. Its just a regular diner with regular food.

Worst customer service, nasty staff, every time you eat there prices are different, this place is a rip off. People go here because it’s convenient, right by the major shopping area, and the only Diner in the area. Owner is also a nasty prickk.

It’s a decent diner to go to with a small parking lot on the side. Their tables can fit large and small groups and they have booths on the side. Service is okay, went in with my friends last night and wasn’t greeted at all. The workers stood there talking with each other, so we just picked a random booth to sit in(like usual). Their menu is very crazy. Pictures and prices everywhere. If it’s your first time there then you’re going to spend a lot of time flipping through their pages if you really want to look at everything they have. For a person like me that’s often very indecisive, I don’t bother looking at the other pages. I just stick with the steak and eggs whenever I go there since I believe that’s the most bang for your buck. You get a decently sized skirt steak, three eggs and way you want, hash browns, and a plate with a few pieces of toast all for 8.99. Throughout your time eating there the waiters will check up on you once in awhile. Their service is okay, not great. What I do like is they don’t try to kick you out after you pay so you can sit and catch up with friends even more without having to be rushed out.

Nice little diner in Queens known for their steak and eggs breakfast which at only nine bucks is a great deal! Juicy, grilled to perfection hanger steak with eggs cooked up perfectly along with delicious home fries is unbeatable! Very cozy inside good service, mostly filled with Police recruits from the new nearby Academy and local workers/residents or some people passing town Kanes Diner is always a good choice for a delicious meal served up right and fast!

Decent food for the price you’re paying and they’re open 24⁄7! I came here twice and the first time, I ordered the onion rings which were pretty good. The second time around, I ordered the country fried steak which came with hashbrowns and 2 eggs you can order any way.(I got them over easy), you also get bread and jelly which is tasty especially at ½ am.

Been driving past this place forever and finally tried it one day. Okay, this place isn’t going to blow you away but how many food options are there late night. The chili con queso here is banging — love it. It’s very hearty and has cheddar cheese with red onions sprinkled on top. Go-to dish: Viagra(don’t ask me) Steak, sunny side up eggs and fries. Save some chili to dip the fries OR get another chili. For $ 20~, the steak/eggs for a very large skirt steak; not too bad.

Very tasty ! Went here w my bf on a late night & was pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were very fluffy and my steak was so juicy. The waiters were very patient and attentive, I would definitely visit again. It was worth the trip from Brooklyn.

I’ve been here past 10PM and also in the middle of the day, and I’ve never had to wait to get a seat. But keep in mind the parking lot is TINY! My friends and I love the steak and eggs(which come with fries or hash browns). Great with a beer. The mushroom burger is flavorful(but greasy!), just the way I like it. :) Unfortunately the spaghetti with marinara sauce was pretty much a fail — watery sauce probably from a can. You can do better in your dorm room. The other breakfast platters are fun and plentiful. The ice cream isn’t remarkable, but a good, relatively inexpensive finish to a standard diner meal. Service is quick, in all my experiences! Mostly, I love the ambience. I love the kitschy collage menus and the creative and funny names for dishes. I like that it’s still full of activity late at night, like a good diner should be. For as long as I’m in the area, I’ll be coming back here!

Came here for the first time today and it’ll be the last. Kindly asked the waiter if I could have waffles with chicken fingers since I can’t eat bacon, sausage, or ham and she told me «No» in a rude tone. Any other restaurant would’ve allowed this request since I can’t eat the other meats they offer. Within a minute of us sitting down she came and took our order. Five minutes after that(yes, I timed) our food was on our table. I guess they were in a rush to get us out? … We didn’t even have silverware yet. Smh. Anywho, once she screamed to the man that we didn’t have silverware he brings the silverware to the table and I begin to lighten up and try the waffle. The waffle was cold and tasteless even with the hot butter & sugar added. So now it’s just sitting here. When the waiter came back to our table I informed her that the waffle was«cold and tasteless». She picks up the plate, goes into the kitchen, and throws the plate straight into the bin causing all the other dishes to shake and everyone to look into the kitchen. WELP. Regardless of the bad food they do bring muffins with butter to the table as you wait. I guess that’s a pro …

I was passing by here randomly and decided to stop in for a quick bite. There is parking here, so that’s a plus. The service was mediocre. When we walked in we waited a while before being told we can grab a table. Once we did, it took a while for someone to come take our drink order. There was enough time for us to chose our dinner and drinks. The seat we were in was near the restroom and it was very uncomfortable because I kept smelling the scent of cleaning products instead of my food. The food took a while to come out, once it did it did taste good. My boyfriend got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn. I got the shrimp Diablo. He said the steak was great so we’re the sides but the gravy on the mash wasn’t good. I enjoyed the shrimp portion of my food but the sauce they used on the pasta wasn’t delicious but it served it’s purpose. The one thing that got to me was the glass I got my drink in, it was greasy on the outside and didn’t look clean. The one thing I dislike about dining establishments is uncleanness. The menu did catch my eye with a short letter about the diner being a small business and our orders support their family. Over all the place was okay, I personally wouldn’t go back but if I had to it wouldn’t be the worse thing.

Yes. I like this place. Came here on a sunday at noon. This place was already packed. But we didn’t wait longer than 10 mins for a table for 2. I ordered the Romanian steak with French fries. And my husband had the grilled shrimp over rice. The steak was so good. Nicely marinated and juicy. Tons of flavors. The grilled shrimp over rice was just ok tho. But I told my husband who comes to a diner and order grilled shrimp over rice lol. We also got an order of pancakes on the side and that was nice and fluffy and very yummy as well. Service was decent. I’m glad I found this place in flushing. Will definitely come back here again when I am craving some good American food

Somebody who lives & grew up in Flushing since the 60s hyped the place up to me, so I had to stop by when I had the steak-on-a-budget craving I had. Was so excited! Service was warm & homey… at first. Décor was beyond laughably dated, but seemed clean enough & kinda homey-dated vs. neglected… I wasn’t put off. As I tried to decipher that amusing chain-letter style cut-and-paste menu, different waiters came up and tried to take my order while I was still reading it. I noticed that they seemed a bit more absorbed in socializing with eachother & wished I would hurry up and order already so they could get back to their fun…(It was 1am on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t very busy — I was probably interrupting their social hour) One of them recommended the ribeye special($ 18) …and since the smell of steak in that place will knock any thought of eating anything other than steak right out of your head, I ordered the dinner version.(There’s also a breakfast version with eggs, toast, etc which they’re famous for). It cans out relatively quickly and was pretty impressive looking for $ 18 @1am, so I was psyched. But the meat texture was ehhh.(Ordered it medium) but it had had that previously freezer-burned, then grilled to perfection flavor. Lol. I realize it is a diner & not a steakhouse, so I was good.(See photos) What I was annoyed with was that after I finished my food, the waiters just left my plates to sit on my table, didnt come back for 20 min bc they were off walking a loud soccer game on the TV and eating & having a good time. Really tho? All of them? It’s a pet peeve of mine when people act like they’re at home while on the job, and I’m not paying you the at-home price. Some people don’t get the concept of service, and none of them did. I went up & looked at the dessert case partly to show that I may be interested in something else. They just watched me without budging from their Soccer. I definitely felt that I wasn’t respected at that point. Asked for the check, gave a 10% tip(which is pretty sad in my book) and dipped. Still 3 stars bc it WAS late… maybe those guys had been on the floor since morning(?) and were in desperate need of a break(at my detriment though)? & I do have to say that the food was decent diner food though, but sticking with the breakfast selections is probably the way to go @ Kane’s…if you can manage that menu. Lol Message on the back of the menu was everything(see my pic)

The service is just okay. Some days are good, other days not so much. Some of the workers and the person who seemed to be in charge are really loud and chatty, which distracted my lunch date. We subconsciously kept finding ourselves turning around to face them because they were so loud. The menu is cluttered with various food options and I get a headache just trying to find something to order. I guess it can be deemed«unique,» but personally, I prefer organization and not to get a headache. The food is okay. You definitely do get a lot for the price. The steaks, fries, onion rings, garlic bread, and sandwiches are all not that bad… but for some reason, it doesn’t seem fitting to say they’re the best of the best, ’cause they’re not.

We came here because we were craving good ol’ American food, so what’s a better place than a diner? I ordered the cheeseburger deluxe with onion rings(costed an addition $ 2.00 to replace fries with onion rings). It is not exactly pleasing to the eye since the burger bun is deflated looking, but it is one pretty darn good burger(although I may be biased as I have a strange love for diner burgers). The onion rings were so fried and crispy that there were hardly any of the actual onion left inside — bleh, I’ll pass. I usually love pickles but the ones that came on the side with my cheeseburger was extra potent and kind of just downright funky tasting in my opinion. The husband ordered a patty melt which came with french fries and both were quite tasty. They have many options on their menu including steak and their prices are very reasonable. Portions are huge. I found their service to be lacking, however. The staff are not very friendly and appear to hate their jobs, not a smile in sight. We came in a group of three, the waiter gave one straw for three drinks. When we asked for more straws, he answered«didn’t i already leave some?» followed by dropping another single straw. Um. Okay, so I just drank my drink straw-less because I didn’t want to be annoying. Overall food is definitely very good as far as diner food goes, but I won’t exactly be rushing back due to the somewhat unwelcoming atmosphere.
