By far the worst customer service and shady pricing I have ever experienced. Got a bid from one company and then had Prunin come out. Once I waited for their bid I was surprised to see a substantial price difference. I then emailed them back to get a breakdown of the cost and that’s when things went south. It was like catching your kid in the cookie jar. No breakdown was given as if they were hiding something. This is the response I received
«I did get it and I think you didn’t understand what I was saying. I have given you a price to do the work and it will be done for that price.»
Amazing…I then called the office to explain what I was looking for and much of the same treatment. They could careless if I went somewhere else for services.
Quick tip, anyone that will not breakdown their price for you they are hiding a very inflated profit for themselves… always shop around.

Pruning did a fantastic job on my landscaping front yard, I am very pleased. Unlike other companies, they gave me a written & legible quote which was very complete – almost like they listened to what I wanted! They gave me a scheduled date and confirmed it a couple of days ahead. They arrived, as promised, between 8 – 8:30 and it took them 2 days to do the job – as promised. They were conscientious and cleaned up after each day. They did more than I was expecting, giving me new valves for my irrigation, good quality drip system and a fantastic stone path on the street patch of lawn. I was a bit shocked at how small the plants were – 1 gallon is not very big, so I did upgrade to 5 gallon for key plants. But, I know that they others will grow quickly and soon you won’t notice the difference.

Our backyard has been completed for 30 days now.
Walls are cracking, cement tennis court has cracks.
I would Really Seriously re-​consider have Prunin do any work.
If you go forward, get a very detailed contract, read then have a lawyer read it
Rob, will tell you what you want to hear, then forget and not follow through.
We are very disappointed in the workmanship of our walls and concrete court cracking.

Prunin did a super job trimming my trees. Their patience and advice to a novice like me was outstanding. They informed me what trees should be trimmed, how much, and which ones needed some special care. Now all my trees look great and the ones that were having problems are on their way to a complete recovery. My yard never looked better!

Our experience with Prunin Landscapes is in line with the other two reviews and I can’t stress enough how poor the communication, follow up and professionalism is from Rob at this company.
We met with Rob at the end of July and explained that we needed an estimate to landscape our front yard and let him know that our time frame was dependent upon the completion of our pool (most likely the landscape would need to be installed in August) and told him that our budget at that time was around $ 10,000. Then we went for weeks without any contact, no emails, no phone calls, no estimate. When my husband called to follow up, Gail explained that the original quote had been misplaced. Then we were told we would be meeting with Julie. So, we met with Julie at the end of September and had to explain all over again what we were looking for. Via email, we provided a list of desired plants, a drawing of what we wanted, and a link to Google photos showing what the inspiration was for our yard.
Again, we waited for weeks without any calls, emails or follow up. So, my husband called and set up an appt with Julie for what we hoped would be the big reveal of the estimate. No such luck. Julie arrived, showed us a basic sketch of some ideas that she had and told us that she had schooled herself in the type of landscaping that we wanted. Then she said that she would have to take some further measurements, and couldn’t give us an estimate until more of our yard was cleared of existing plants. A couple weeks went by with no contact.
Finally, I emailed Julie to ask when we could expect the estimate. We then received an estimate from Rob the next day with a grand total of $ 19,000 to landscape our yard. The quote included many extras that we had not even asked for in our discussions with this company. I responded very nicely that we appreciated the effort that went into putting the quote together but that our budget now was more in the range of $ 3000 — $ 5000. The email that was sent back to us from Rob was the most unprofessional correspondence that I’ve ever received.

You have spent $ 3,000 just in Julies design time, research and site visits. Which I didn’t even charge you for in the totals. Did you really think that you could install a complete front yard including sprinklers, lights, trellises, fountains, and $ 8,500 worth of plants that you requested for $ 4k??? We initially tried to keep the price down for you but then you guys kept asking for more and more stuff ie… fountain install, fountain auto fill valve, lights, new sprinkler system, elaborate French country gardens, formal boxwood hedges etc etc.
Then to top it off you let the pool contractor destroy what landscape you already had by compacting the life out of it and using the front yard as a dump spot for all his toxic crap which has resulted in a couple of thousand dollars of clean up and soil repairs before anything will survive there.
When we first met, you told me $ 10K for a budget and thats about where we are if we take away the extras that have been added on along the way and reduce the plant count back to where it started but there is no way it gets done for under $ 5K. Sorry «

This is not the landscaping company you are looking for. You will want to find another Landscaping company. Any other besides this one.

Rob from Prunin came to my property and we discussed the pruning of my four date palm trees. I went over in detail previous problems with clean up and staining of the concrete and patio. He assured me there would be no problems. Unfortunately, there are many stains, some of which my hematologist husband and I think are blood. I emailed and called Rob and he never responded directly. He sent a man to inspect and in this man’s opinion the stains aren’t blood. He left and I haven’t been able to reach Rob to discuss an action plan. The stains are as a result of the pruning/​dates, or a worker’s injury. They weren’t there before and Prunin should have figured out a way to clean it up. I sent multiple pictures to Rob, per his request, and still have heard nothing. His office manager, Gail, informed me he was going to contact me by email. Anxious to get the work and propose many other projects, but very, very short on customer satisfaction. $ 975 for the pruning, now I’ll have to pay someone to come clean the patio more $$$. Trees look good, follow through on clean up ZERO!!! Beautiful website is very misleading.

I am writing this review in case you are considering calling Prunin for your residential landscaping needs. First off, there’s another Prunin that can also be found on Unilocal which has the city of Cypress as the location. This is the same company. On that account, it only has a few, but negative reviews and I have to agree with them. I met with Rob. He came to estimate a landscape project and boy did he come with a big ego. The whole time Rob gave me the impression that he wasn’t going to make that much money from my project. He didn’t bother to take notes and measurements as one should as I explained my project needs. The moment he stepped onto my property, I could tell his mind was wandering somewhere else, like he was wasting his time. He said he would provide me with an estimate within a week. It’s been well over a month and and no communication from Rob or his company. I’ve followed up with the company weekly and they continue to ignore me. If you are a homeowner and looking for company that will bring your project and vision to life, consider going somewhere else. I found another company that was happy to take on my project. They knew more about the work than what Rob himself seems to know. I met with Prunin because judging by their website I assumed quality service. But after meeting Rob, I’m left with a bad impression on how I view the company. So don’t always think that if a company has a website with pretty pictures is any better than those that don’t. Listen to reviews and judge for yourself before you contact this company. Rob lied straight to my face about another matter, but I’m not going to get into that. My landscape is coming to life beautifully with thanks to another company. They always made me feel like a priority and listened to my needs. Their gain is Prunin’s loss.

Amazing, good people! I had an unusual situation. My 12 week old kitten got himself stuck in a tree. I called animal control and was told they would help but he had to be caught up there for 24 hours or more! The pitiful mewing was heartbreaking to listen to. It had already been more than 6 hours! I called a few landscaping/​tree services (including my current) and left voice mails. It was 8:30pm on Wednesday night. I didn’t really expect a call back. Even if I did get a call back, would I be able to afford it? Remember this is well after hours and a cat in a tree? Not likely. Shortly after I left a message, I did get a call back from Prunin. (And ONLY Prunin) The gentleman that called me told me that he was sending over 2 men right away. I nervously asked him the cost. His answer? Nothing! They were happy to help. Shortly thereafter 2 heroes did show up. They climbed up and got my kitten out of the tree. They were sweet and gentle with him. They treated me and my son with respect. Our situation was slightly ridiculous. What company do know would send 2 people out after hours to get a kitten out of the tree for free?! These are good, caring, and kind people. The kind of people that will go out of their way to help. Who do you want working on and around your home? Plus, you know they will be kind to your pets. You have to hire them! I’m switching to them on Monday. My kitten is safe and happy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Prunin!
