Warm brown and beige colors immediately instilled a cozy initial feeling upon exiting the balmy February weather outside. The second sense hit once fully inside as the fresh cooking, wrestled my nostrils. Perhaps not my most appealing descriptive statement, but true none the less. A lunch special to go cant beget a proper review but for now it will remain until my next return, living 4 blocks away, this leaves no geographical issue. Three choices to have your gyro prepared with — beef, chicken or pork — isn’t it a lamb dish? Carrying my baggie home, it felt kinda light and upon throwing open the white stryo came to see why. Yet no points are lost here, as the meal was ample — could have done without the typical boring French fries and low grade ketchup packs. Beautifully thin cut red onions were a part of each and be very bite, however I didn’t notice any other diced vegetables to support the pork. Update to follow, so tune in again.

This lovely neighborhood eatery keeps getting better. My third lunch, which included my second charcoal grilled and absolutely delicious hamburger, was probably my best yet. My friend had the mousaka. Very authentic Greek food at its most enjoyable.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in the neighborhood. My favorite dish is the chicken soulvaki, chicken is always cooked to perfection. They also have lunch specials everyday at a very fair price and the staff is always friendly and welcoming.

These Wing Dings are cooked perfectly. They’re definitely worth the $ 7.90 for seven pieces!

I’ve walked by this place many times but never thought to go in. Now I kind of hate myself for not trying it sooner!!! So good. I had the chicken souvlaki plate with salad and lemon potatoes. Also ordered a side of veggies and and lentil soup. I’ll definitely order the exact same thing again.

I usually enjoy the food here and would definitely come more often. One issue I have is the waitresses are a tad rude and unfriendly. If you’re serving in a restaurant you should be friendly and accommodating but on a few occasions I was here I noticed they gave off a bit of an attitude. Rude servers are as bad as rude customers and I’m certainly never rude to people working myself. The lamb/beef combo was very good and the feta cheese salad is one of my favorites. The bbq chicken I had once was very dry though and the salad had tomatoes that were a little on the stale side.

Five stars every time! Consistently excellent food and service. All I’ve tried so far has exceeded my expectations — the chicken slouvaky sandwich and lemon potatoes are my favorite items. For dessert, try the almond cookies AND the hazelnut mousse.

This place was a really nice surprise. Went here when we were pressed for time and Lillians was closed. With a boring name we had always avoided this place. Didn’t even realize it was a Greek place. The feta and gyros were very tasty. I couldn’t stop eating the fries. Very friendly staff.

Love this place. Owners are Greek. Food is always good and the real deal. Not crowded like Astoria. If you can nab a groupon or deal It just makes it so much more of a bargain.

Yeah. That’s my dog outside. His name’s Pete. He’s here a lot because even the garbage here is delicious. And if you think I’m kidding, ask him. He’s such a good dog. But it’s so hard to resist Dina’s cooking … Plus, if you don’t love Dina and Panagiotis as human beings, you aren’t one. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere. The petting zoo, near the veranda, is free to all ages. Yadda Yadda Yadda. Dina’s is the only restaurant to have achieved a ViSA(Victorian Seal of Approval).

Unfortunately, this experience wasn’t as great… Salad was still good and delivery was pretty quick, but food was a little dry and the side dishes were terrible! Grilled vegetables were old and gray; took one bite and couldn’t eat anymore. The lemon potatoes were the worst I have ever had. Just tasted old like it was sitting out for days. I’m hoping this was a bad day because I really like their sausage.

A couple of friends and I showed up to Village Grill on a nearly empty Friday Night. Surely it must be because of the frigid weather and not the food right. Well, I have been developing a taste for Greek food so let’s see if Village Grill can satisfy my craving. Service was quite slow. About 10 minutes pass between sitting down and ordering. Another 20 minutes pass before we got our salads, and 30 minutes pass before getting our entrees. You would think that when we are the only 3 customers in the restaurant we would get faster service. At least the food was good. We ordered the: Combination Platter($ 10.80) — A combo of pork and beef served with tzatziki sauce. The beef tasted very similar to halal cart meat but the tangy yogurt tzatziki sauce went great with it. Portions were decent as well.(7⁄10) Loukaniko Platter($ 10.50) — A stuffed sausage platter also served with tzatziki sauce. The sausage was grilled too long so the casing was charred and hard. It was kind of difficult to eat but once the outer shell was broken, the sausage does taste good.(7⁄10) Rib Eye Steak($ 14.50) — They served the steak with Peter Luger sauce. I guess it’s an attempt to make it seem fancy. It tasted quite average and it was overdone when medium rare was requested.(7⁄10) Unlike some of the other more homey Greek restaurants that screams family recipes passed down generation to generation, Village Grill had a diner and fast food feel to it(even though the food didn’t arrive fast). However, it was still a nice place to talk and relax with a filling meal.
