Best Western University Inn

The location of this place is great. It’s within walking distance of some great restaurants, breweries, bars, and shops. Also, the room décor, beds, etc have been updated. Which is why I give it two stars. However, I hope to never ever stay here again.
First problem: paper thin walls. The people in the room next to us stayed up talking from 2:30AM-4AM and we heard every single word. It was impossible to sleep.
Second problem: the TV didn’t work. This would’ve been helpful to drown out the noise next door.
Third problem: the doors don’t touch the ground which let in a ton of hallway light. The room was never dark.
Plus the place smelled bad. Not horrible. But not good either.
If for any reason I had to stay here again I would make sure I had a cover for my eyes and earplugs. We slept horribly here even though the bed was okay.

Stayed her last weekend for one night after a day of drinking at the marina. After a friend booked here, I booked here as well to make sure we were at the same place. I travel a lot for work (almost 60 hotel stays in the last 3 months) so hotel stays are no stranger to me. When we first pulled up, the first thing you’ll notice is the room doors with direct access from outside. I’m not personally a fan.
The young lady at the front desk was very kind. Check in did not take long at all. The pool area was nice and clean looking.
For the room itself, it was about what you’d expect from a motel. It looked tidy yet dingy somehow. The shower had dial soap dispenses for body soap, shampoo, and conditioner but that’s not the best part. There are about shoulder height windows in the shower. They’re frosted so you can close them and not worry about being seen by folks passing by.
For about $ 130 a night, I’d rather go south a couple miles to stay at a Marriott.

Outstanding customer service at this modest, clean hotel — Shawn, Holly, Ben and Mario take good care of you, whether it’s recommending nearby restaurants or shuttling you to different venues in town.

Don’t know that I’ve ever given a Best Western 4 stars, but this was a great experience. We got the suite for my family of four and it was fantastic. Very spacious with a great separate living room, two bathrooms, very clean, nice size fridge to store food in. Wasn’t expecting much but I am duly impressed.

Terrific service! Came alone for an interview and the ladies at the front desk were very accommodating to my requests. Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms were very clean and spacious. Would recommend this place!

Stayed here for Labor Day weekend to visit boyfriend.
It’s very nice & clean. The staff is friendly & talkative. WiFi seems to work well. Vending machines runs out of water easily, but you can always go to the front desk & ask for a bottle of water. You just have the pay, but not bad.
It’s a pretty old building, so you can expect a little bit of quirks. Nothing too bad. Also, a lot of noise, but then again, it is a college town. If you want to stay here expect some noise late at night.

150.00 for a old 1980’s box of a room. wifi sucks — yes it’s clean but give me a brake — A old motel charging a top dollar price… Never again… get a place off the Interstate.

It is a motel, but by far the nicest motel I have ever been to. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, especially Karina! The motel has been newly remodeled, very clean! Comfortable beds! Microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, free WiFi! Everything you need, steps to downtown and affordable!

Older motel right on busy College Avenue. Lacking attractive landscape, dominated by asphalt parking lot. Ask for a room in the back wing of the motel as it would be more quiet. Reception and services adequate. Has an indoor pool but we didn’t check it out. Bars and restaurants within a short stroll.

I promised the manager a good review after she was willing to work with me on a situation.
My gal was immediately denied late check out during graduation/​Kentucky Derby/​CO marathon weekend. Ie, manager made it clear she had three very large groups (for a small hotel might I add) and that there would be no late check out Sunday following the race.
I politely explained the situation, and she politely extended check out time for our room.
Only major issue was that the room remote didn’t work (at all), and that there was quite a bit of dust, and the room key failed twice.
I would reserve again given the circumstances.

Friendly staff and a great location. Most importantly, the bed and linens were soft and luxurious, especially for the value. The towels leave a bit to be desired. But overall, the room was clean and comfortable.

The location and walkability of this hotel (motel*) is probably the best part. The rooms on the other hand all have exterior entrances and there’s little to no sound barriers. We were awoken multiple times during the night from cars, people yelling, and room doors slamming. There’s is a mysterious glue like white matter on the bed skirt and no pet stations for pet waste so the surrounding grass areas are a feces minefield.

If you loved those college dorm days of living with children having their first beer experience, then this place is for you. Proximity to CU and student discounts make this the place to be to keep the party going well into the early morning hours. Your room may face the open air courtyard where the ash trays are located right by windows to your room. There are no quiet hours, or at least none that are enforced.
If you call in a noise complaint (as i had to 3 out of 6 nights) expect lack luster results. The midnight staff have dealt with enough noise complaints over the years that you will likely be warned that «They are probably drunk and hard to deal with.»
In your bed side night stand you will find not only a bible… but ear plugs as well. The ear plugs should be a clear indicator to you who is using this hotel regularly. The front desk, though sympathetic, ended the conversation with «Well, we are a University town!»
If you need to sleep, conduct business or relax at your hotel then continue driving, Best Western Univ. Inn is not the one for you. If you are here to party, well then, you are home.

Priced quite high for the amenities provided. Beds were comfortable, but theres a train nearby thats sure to wake up light sleepers… the hotel apparently knows this as ear plugs are standard issue for each room.
Very clean, and a safe for valuables that you dont get charged for using. Overall a negative experience, and for the price (160) much better should be available. Low value.
I should state that none of this was the staff’s fault. The counter help was great. The real problem I had with this place was how loud it was and the price. I felt like I was staying at a super 8, not a quality best western.

Oh geez, here it goes.
This Best Western has the best location if you are looking for a night out in Old Town and don’t want to spend a ton of money on The Armstrong Hotel. It is walking distance to almost everything and you’ll never get lost. If you do get lost you have bigger problems.
I chose this location for just that reason. Really. My only criteria was that it was close. Needless to say I wasn’t looking for a 5 star getaway. I needed a place to rest my head after a long night and I figured this would be the perfect spot.
Flash forward to the moment when I was ready to do just that, around midnight-​ish. The man at the front was pleasant as can be and within a few minutes my friends and I were headed to our room. We got there, tried our key and groaned in pain. It didn’t work. And we had walked all the way to the separate building in the back. So we tried again. And again. And we may have kicked the door.
And then.
Someone opened it.
We had been given directions and a key to a room that someone was already in.
I think that sums up my review.

This is really a motel not a hotel. We reserved 2 hotel rooms, one was on the first floor (King) and the other on the 2^nd floor (2 doubles). The good thing about the place was the location. We were there to visit the Colorado State campus and we were able to walk there. It wasn’t very far from Old town Fort Collins as well. The bed was decent, and the bathroom in the king was very small. It was a walk in shower with a glass wall and no door. There was an enclosed pool and Jacuzzi which was nice to have. It was just an okay place.

Solid hotel with a great location. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. It’s less than a mile walk to Old Town and right by the CSU campus. We ended up walking downtown multiple times to enjoy the shops, microbreweries and restaurants that are very accessible. Got a deal online for our stay.
The breakfast is one of the best things — eggs, waffles (not whole wheat), steel cut oats, toast/​muffins, fruit, yogurt and cereal. There are plenty of healthy, whole-​grain options, which I appreciated.
Can’t speak for the WIFI but they did say they had it… Overall, convenient for visiting the city.

I understand that the pricing of hotels relies heavily on location, local events, and holidays, so I’m only slightly miffed that the price of a room on College Ave the day of the Tour de Fat and Labor Day weekend was $ 160. What increases the perturbation, however was that the rooms were small, the air conditioning inadequate, few amenities, and a serious lack of ventilation in the bathroom, creating a sauna when the shower was running, and other unpleasant olfactionary conditions upon which I do not care to extrapolate. I guess this is the first stop for new and prospective CSU students, but I would encourage everyone to explore some of the other hotels the city has to offer.

Great location if you are doing business at CSU! It’s a motel which I usually try to avoid but the price was right and there wasn’t a lot of loud traffic. The rooms are decent and there is a nice bathroom/​dressing area in each of the rooms.
The lobby looks like it was recently redone which was nice and the breakfast is pretty decent.
