Greene Grape Scoops & Sweets

I’m frankly surprised this place isn’t rated higher.
I stopped in tonight after perusing Greenlight next door. They are closing next week for the holidays so they are running low on flavors but the woman behind the counter said she’d be happy to make any of the sundae combinations they offer and was accommodating.
I decided to go with a small strawberry scoop in a cup. Total cost after tax was $ 3.81 for a hefty scoop of ice cream, cheaper than Ample Hills and other places I’ve been in the area.
The ice cream was so creamy and delicious, I couldn’t believe it. It tasted almost like gelato, extraordinarily tasty. The strawberry flavor was light and subtle but so good. I can’t recommend it enough.
The store itself is small, selling Brooklyn area products. It’s a cute shop that can’t fit more than five or so people but feels quaint and intimate. Definitely stop by this place for a scoop of ice cream — HIGHLY recommend!

The ice cream here tasted pretty awesome but I would have loved to have more flavor options. It’s in my favorite little part of Fort Greene and I had just left Habana Outpost with a fellow Unilocaler and crew. We were given coupons that had to be used the same day. It was the perfect relief on a hot summer day.
I was grateful to go inside and really liked the cute little seating area. The people who worked there were nice and accommodating. We had fun and I liked sitting by the large window looking outside. They were playing great music too so it was a good experience though without the coupons it would have been a bit pricier than I would like.

This place is unstoppable. The ice cream is amazing and the Sundaes (esp Milk and Cookies) are sooooo delicious. On top of that, the employees there are the nicest, most friendly people. I have never been in there and not walked away with a smile on my face. Love you guys, keep the fun coming!

Yummy flavors. I’m in love with the key lime coconut icecream. If you like chocolate, you’ll love the chocolate salted caramel.

I had the salted caramel and strawberry here. The strawberry was rich in flavor. The salted caramel was sweet. It would’ve been great if they have more flavors

Delicious & very friendly service. Didn’t realize that they don’t make their own proprietary brand of ice cream, but it was still yummy and I left a happy customer.

With a name like SCOOPS, I expecting many flavor options for my scooping pleasure. On my visit there were eight options to choose from. I love that all the flavor are BK local creameries but really just eight. The eight options are also THEEE most basic of options. We chose the Adirondack Creamery Mint Chocolate Chip and it was good, not all that Ah-​may-​zing, but just good.
I went in with a BOGO scoop Labor Day offer and it was a good way to get to know the flavors. Two single scoops one in a waffle cone, one in cup both with sprinkles came to $ 4 and change. Great for getting two cones. After paying I quickly realized that without the Labor Day coupon I would have easily spent close to $ 10 for two scoops of ice cream. The cone is .50 extra as well as the sprinkles.
It’s a smaller ice cream shop but there is a nice window seating area along with a three top in the center of the shop and high top seating four along the wall. The employees are friendly and patient as they should be in this very family friendly neighborhood. Don’t think I would be frequenting them much but at least I can say I tried it. Hopefully when k go back there will be different flavors to entice me again.

They don’t make their own ice cream. That was a real disappointment.
Instead, they serve a variety of local BK flavors (but not the best flavors from each shop). For example, they serve Blue Marble — but they didn’t have Pistachio Almondine. They serve the basic flavors.
I’m not saying their flavors are bad — but you can just go to most local grocery stores in BK to buy what they serve up.
My spouse and mom in law bought the phin & phebes dark chocolate salty caramel. Too bad we had a pint of the same flavor at home.
I refused to buy what I already had and thought the flavor options were lazy.

I’ve come here twice with friends. I had the Toasted Green Tea & Salted Dark Chocolate. The Salted Dark Chocolate was delicious, but the Toasted Green Tea was phenomenal!

The ice cream just isn’t that good. Sort of grainy with an odd aftertaste. But, that said, there aren’t too many ice cream options in the area, so this will have to do for now. I was so hopeful that this would become a favorite spot! Too bad.

I think Scoops is just what Fulton needed. A sweet little ice cream shop
that you can sit in. The ice cream is delicious and I love that they offer the
classics (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla). The popsicles are very good as well.
I do wish the servings were a bit bigger for the price.

If the Greene Grape wine store weren’t adorable and neighborly enough, here’s their seasonal ice cream shoppe. And it’s, again, adorable. With amazing ice cream. Come for the ice cream, stay for the staff. They are fun, informed, and… fun. The charging for cones is a little wonky, to be sure. So, I don’t know… don’t get a cone. I’m that clever. And when they first started, the scoops were a bit small… BUT they’ve seen the error of their ways and they’re much more reasonable now. Well done. Love that the lovable Greene Grape people have expanded right across the street. «What wine pairs well with ‘Peanutty Pretzel?» And how cool of them to employ kids from NYC’s Summer Youth Employment Program. Again, propping up the neighborhood. Yay and yay. (For the record, though, I never say «Woohoo.» Just saying.)

This place doesn’t just offer excellent ice cream, it’s a wonderful platform for local food makers to showcase and make a living from their delicious products.
I ordered a scoop of the salted caramel ice cream in a French vanilla cone, without realizing that the French vanilla cones were a gluten-​free option. Didn’t matter, the cone tasted amazing and so did the ice cream. I learned that those cones were made by a nearby baker who has a wide range of delightfully flavored gluten-​free ice cream cones. Awesome. Who would have thought?
The shop is adorable and family-​family, so so cute, and the sundaes look incredible, (next time…)
Any time olive oil is incorporated into a dessert, good things ensue.
Definitely will recommend this place to others! Great stop for a summer treat!!!

I happened to be in the area and stopped in. My ice cream was yummy. I had a banana flavored ice cream and one with coconut. Both creamy and delicious on a cone. The location is a bit on the small side with a couple of tables and chairs and a counter with stools. Not designed for a long stay. They had a little music playing in the background and the ladies at the cash register were polite and friendly. I would definitely return again for more ice cream.

I was so disgusted with this place and I should have left the moment I saw the pretentious «artisan sundaes» up on the menu board.
The board stated «Ice cream cones — 1 scoop $ 3.50». But you know what kids? That does NOT include the cone! Just the scoop. So I order my basic cone, get to the register and it was $ 4.31. (You have to look really closely at the board to see the extra price for your cone, and even then it’s not clear). Shady.
And what’s more, if you order a scoop in a cup, it’s only $ 3. And the ice cream? I had the salted caramel which was mediocre. Left a weird aftertaste (as did the green tea flavor, which I tasted first).
This place is everything that is giving Brooklyn a bad reputation of being an overpriced hipster mecca.
Will not go again (and won’t be going to their grocery store across the street either). Next time I get a craving, I’ll track down Mr. Softee.
** edited to add on July 28^th — The owners of Greene Grape Scoops must’ve seen their poor Unilocal!rating and asked their friends to come in and score it higher. Because that’s quite a coincidence we have three 5 star reviews all posted on July 27^th. Especially one by someone «Cortney W.» who «happened to be in the area» (there is a boutique on the same block called Courtney Washington). *eyeroll*.

Walked by this place and thought it was so cute! Two stars for the friendly employees and cute atmosphere, but I won’t be back again. You’ll pay nearly 5 bucks for two small bites of the most average ice cream you’ve ever tasted.

My wife just paid $ 4.31 for the smallest most bullshit sized soft serve ice cream cone I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen anything that small even child’s size. Mind you this wasn’t Blue Marble, or some other twee brand but plain vanilIa soft serve. You also have 4 girls in there that looked like they were pissed off that anyone dared to enter. I can’t wait until this crap place closes like your overpriced coffee shop did.

The ice cream was pretty expensive here for very small scoops. Moreover, it’s just not very good.
The staff were very nice but I wouldn’t bother coming back again.

Newly opened Greene Grape Scoops looks to be a very welcome addition to the neighborhood, serving locally sourced ice cream and uniquely designed flavors. If you’re vegan like me there’s La Newyorkina Mexican ices. The tiny store was very crowded with happy families on a late-​June Friday afternoon. The counter people were very friendly and sweet. I like that Scoops hires kids from the NYC Summer Youth Employment Program.
