I’m not the type of person that gets pissed off and asks to see the manager, but I did when I visited the Palm Grille last week on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. My wife and I stopped by for a drink while walking around the waterfront. We were seated outside, and the place was pretty dead given it was a Friday night with only 5 or so other tables filled. We waited for half an hour without a waiter coming to offer us so much as a water. I went up to the hostess and politely told her we’d been waiting 30 minutes and no one had served us. «I’m so sorry! I’ll have someone right over.», she replied. After another 15 minutes, we still hadn’t seen anyone and I returned to the hostess and asked to speak with the manager. The owner, a guy named Matt, came out and asked what he could do to help. I explained the situation, and he apologized and offered to treat my wife and I to drinks and dinner. I told him I didn’t want to be one of those people who complained to get free stuff, but rather just wanted him to know the service at his place was terrible and I wasn’t interested in giving him my business. At that point we left. Not sure how the food or drinks are, but I can’t do anything but give this place one star.

Palm Grille is fun … and cheap. When in Ft. Lauderdale and having grown weary of NYC prices for subpar service and food, we always head to Palm Grille for a meal. 3 drinks for $ 9 … check! If you are looking for something that packs a punch, go with one of the frozen margaritas. entrée for under $ 5 … check! We enjoy the lunch time(until 4PM) Tilapia wrap. It comes with a descent side of fresh, seasoned fries.($ 4.99). I have always found the staff to be very friendly. They are not necessarily fast, but I’m not looking for fast service when I sit outside enjoying a nice breeze, some fresh air and a nice frozen margarita. Granted, this is not a dinner place in my book. But, there is nothing better on a lazy Saturday afternoon than to head down there for lunch. Take that 3rd drink and climb on the Water Taxi that boards in front of the restaurant and cruise the intercoastal. The whole thing just feels like a really good deal. For the record, there is also a Palm Grille on A1A. It has a beautiful views of the ocean, but service is so bad that we prefer the Riverwalk location even if the views are not quite as stunning.

Went to Rockfest last night and ended up eating at this restaurant To sum it up: subpar service… we had to wait for someone to greet us. We finally seated ourselves. The lighing was too low… probably to hide the dust/dirt. And the food was horrible. Didn’t order drink(which was probably a good thing), so I can’t cosign them. BTW, Briny Irish Pub & Restaurant is new. It’s actually right next to Palm Grille. I should’ve went here instead of Palm Grille. The place looked like lots of fun… loud music and fun people.

We had heard that this was a good place to have a quick good and«relatively» inexpensive meal on Riverwalk This is true, there are some really good specials at under $ 10, and on the regular menu at about $ 15 You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the boats on the river. The food was very good and we did enjoy our meals. There is one problem, they have a drink special, 3 for $ 10,(not to be shared) well 3 drinks is a bit much for me so how much could that be for only one drink… how about $ 7.55…talk about a ripoff, a beer is only $ 3…I asked our server about that and she did offer to bring 2 more drinks !! Do yourself a favor, just order food and a couple can have a good dinner for under $ 30 tax and tip included…(which by the say they do include the tip on the bil but the c/c receipt has a line for a tip… watch this… you could tip twice Really now, NOTNICEGUYS…
