Firefighting’s Finest Moving and Storage Inc

Lmao they quoted me $ 635 to move me 1.5 miles the following items: (I’ve moved clothes and doo-​dads)
Washer & Dryer, Ikea island, Bed, mattress, nightstand, TV, and an Ikea rocking chair.
I’m moving from a fully furnished off-​campus student apartment which has a couple of furnishing that are mine. Apparently I need a 3 man crew for someone to push the elevator button since my apartment doesn’t allow you to reserve the elevator for move in-​out (regardless of the fact that 80% of the people who live at my current apartment are gone for the summer as I mentioned and the official move-​out date for everyone who lives in the whole building is the last week of July). The elevator brought up all my stuff including washer and dryer the first time. Currently on the 3^rd floor with elevator moving to the 1^st floor at my new apartment.

After I confirmed the 75 $ extra charge for my piano with two different persons, John came into my home and told me that they didn’t come prepared to move a piano and couldn’t move me that day. Time was of the essence for me. As John was completely rude and demeaning, I chose to call someone else the next day. I would never use this company again.
My son recommended Great White Moving who came the next day and they were fast and professional.

Got a bid recently for a future move. I believe it was $ 135 an hour with an estimate of 7 hours. I don’t think it should take that long but what do I know, I’m not a mover. However, my complaint it about the .75 hour charge ($ 100) for drive time to my house before the move. The facility is located in West Fort Worth and so am I. This is a ridiculous charge that just nickels and dimes the customer. I don’t do business with companies that try and milk customers out of additional money with frivolous charges. I work in EMS, I take patients from hospital to hospital, hospital to rehab, hospital to nursing home, and much more… We don’t charge patients for the time it takes for us to get from our station to the hospital. Plumbers, contractors, etc. Don’t charge you for the drive time from their facility to your house. You’re not working until you get to my house so why in the world would I pay you to drive to my house??? I have no problem with your regular rate, I want your business to thrive and I realize you have overhead, but don’t act like the $ 135 an hour charge is not sufficient to pay your employees to get to my home .

FYI, I had originally written on my review «PS… Many people think you’re actually being moved by fire fighters, this is not the case. The company is owned/​operated by fire fighters».
Apparently Firefighters Finest was not very happy with this remark and had a lawyer contact me. The lawyer had nothing to say about the majority of the review, the only problem they had was with me making the statement I just quoted. So as I try and be as honest and thorough as possible, I told the lawyer I was absolutely willing to update my review provided evidence that all movers are certified firefighters, employed with a fire department, or are volunteers. So here is the response:

So, My original review stating it is not the case that fire fighters are the ones actually moving you may have been too broad. Let me narrow it down a bit. As the company does not guarantee you will be moved by fire fighters (actually at your house touching your furniture) and does not seem to have a policy that I am aware of that will guarantee at least one fire fighter will be on every move, it’s a possibility that you will book Firefighters Finest Movers and come up a little short on actual fire fighters… lol.
I hope this is enough to clarify all points. I also hope that Firefighters Finest will actually look at my main review and make some improvements!

My client has brought to my attention concerns regarding inaccurate information contained the your Unilocal review dated 12-​21-​2015. Specifically, the claim that Firefighting’s Finest Moving does not utilize firefighters for its moving services. This is false. As you correctly state, Firefighting’s Finest Moving is owned and operated by off duty local firefighters. Firefighting’s Finest Moving also utilizes off duty local firefighters to provide moving services for its customers. including drivers, laborers and warehouse staff. I am requesting that you revise your Unilocal review to remove the inaccurate information. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation to alleviate this concern.

I’m not sure of the type of proof you’re interested in to verify. It wouldn’t be prudent to disclose a roster of the names of employees and their affiliations with local departments. I was a bit late in the game scheduling our move– so I was unable to get the day I wanted (completely my fault) but the next morning was available. The 2 man crew called me when they were on the way to let me know and arrived at the start time discussed in the email communications with Robert.
We had 2 smaller flat screens that we ended up moving ourselves– but I had discussed the movers bringing a FPTV boxing kit for our 60″ plasma. They didn’t have one. It would have been an additional charge, but that’s fine. I didn’t enjoy trying to cram the TV on it’s side into my Jeep. Plus when I was opening the lift gate to the Jeep (remotely) one of the movers forced it up by hand which threw the gate off track. Ugh.
Our move ended up taking about 6 hours– almost 2 of those being taking apart our fridge and then putting it back together. The fridge has risers to allow you to adjust it so that it sits on the floor evenly. When the movers put it back together one riser was all the way up and the other down so the fridge was off balance. They said they couldn’t fit the fridge into the space in the kitchen because the cabinet was built crooked. Come to find out after our own investigation and a dolly so we could tip the thing ourselves, the risers were off. Not my cabinets.
I also had to go invest in some Mr. Clean Magic erasers to get the rubber stains off the paint on my stairwell.
None of these things are HUGE issues that would deter me from using the company again. The guys were good and didn’t break or damage any furniture. The scuffs on the stairs came out with some elbow grease. I do wish we had have had that box for the plasma TV. That was a huge hassle and made me nervous to have the TV laying like that in the car. I would have gladly paid the 45 $ discussed to have it safely transported in the moving van!

Well seriously, this is as good as it gets for packing and moving. If you’ve ever been completely frustrated and angry with a mover who doesn’t show up on time, damages your stuff, under mans your job, charges you «extra fees» at the end of your job … CHILL OUT, Firefighting’s Finest is gonna take care of you.
This is 4^th time I’ve used this company, and I’m running out of superlatives. Every move has been flawless.
This time I moved a truckload of furniture and household items from a home to a storage locker. My outstanding experience started the minute I picked up the phone and called them to arrange my move. I only had a week to get everything ready, and I was expertly guided through my options to pack and move. Everything is arranged by the hour, but lest you are concerned with that, READ ON!!! Want to pack your own stuff to save some out of pocket cash?, no problem. They will just load and move your stuff.
Prior to move date, I was contacted several times by email to make sure everything was as I contracted. On the day of my move, my move leader, Devin, called me to indicate they were leaving their facility and headed to my house. They arrived 15 minutes EARLY, and by time we had truck positioned and minimal paperwork signed, the crew was ready to go, EXACTLY on time. Since I absolutely had to have everything done by 6 pm that day, I opted to start at 9 am with a crew of 6 total. Everyone introduced themselves, and boom, they were off. All the packing materials were included, and all I had to do was point and try to stay up with them. I had a lot of dishes, glassware, keepsakes, items on 12 foot shelves, yada yada, nothing phases these guys. They are so efficient, it is truly amazing. By 12:45, everything was packed, perfectly labeled. Doesn’t that piss you off when you open boxes on the other end of your move and they are not labeled by contents or location, or worse yet, mislabeled? Not to worry. Oh, and there is more … By 12:45, everything was packed, labeled, and loaded into the truck! We were ready to go. That included wrapping and padding of my furniture, as well as my «oops I forgot to tell you about that gigantic dining room buffet». No problem, sir.
The crew stopped for a quick lunch on the way to my storage locker. I was called again by Devin when they were 15 minutes away. At about 1:30, they were there and in position. By 2:30 they had finished unloading EVERYTHING into a 10×20 locker. Stacked perfectly, nothing broken or dropped, just perfect.
Their insurance is the standard $ 0.60 per pound, although you can purchase more if you want. I also understand that effective August 1, they have their own «Self-​Storage» facility. All in my move was under $ 2,000, in my opinion an amazing value for the quality of service you get.
Couple of other neat things. They will take all your non-​perishable pantry items you can’t or don’t want to move and donate them to charity. Nice touch. And they have another charity they support for used coats.
I can confidently recommend this company based not only on this move, but on my 3 prior moves, all with different crews, but the same results

The movers were on time and called ahead to confirm. Estimated a 3 hour move all that I had left to move were bigger items I couldn’t fit in my car. Going from a 1 bedroom apartment to another one bedroom this one on the third floor 15 mins away. The two man crew were courteous and professional the entire time.
The reason I rated them two stars is because the move took 4.5 hours an extra 1.5 hours. Total cost was $ 620, last year around the same time I moved from downtown Dallas to ftw which was an 1 hr 15 min drive between locations and it was my whole apartment not just bigger items. it was a three man crew but it took about the same amount of time and was only $ 100 more. Also all my furniture looked out until I turned a shelf over and saw bad marks on the side.
In the future I will just rent a truck and move my self or hire the company I used last year who were a lot quicker and nothing was damaged.

Efficient, accommodating, friendly! They bent over backwards to help us with anything we asked or needed. They worked quickly and carefully. Very happy with this company!

They are the BEST. They have moved our model homes many many times. They are fair, honest, reasonable priced, but best of all they are careful. We have used them at least 6 times this year. I would NEVER call anyone else. We recommend them to our buyers also.

These guys were great!!! I have dealt with movers before and none of them have been as courteous and careful as them. My scheduled appointment was for 9am and the guys showed up at 8:59! They even finished before the estimated time and charged me less than the quoted price. The next time I move, I won’t hesitate to call anyone else.

Firefighting’s Finest has moved me 3 times now, and multiple times for friends and family. My last move was from Irving, and they were more than happy to make the drive. Always careful with my things, very professional, and courteous. Very satisfied customer here!

I have used Firefighting’s Finest Moving to move my residence 3 times in the past 2 years and have never been disappointed. They are dependable, punctual, courteous, and professional, miles ahead of other moving companies in Texas.
It’s a shame all businesses can’t conduct themselves with this kind of work ethic and commitment to customer satisfaction.

these guys really are the best! i hired them to move me from a 2^nd floor apartment in fort worth to rockwall, and was amazed at how quickly they loaded the truck. nothing was broken, and i felt safe having these guys move me.
last time i moved, i chose All My Sons, and a very sketchy pair showed up to move me. this dude with creeptastic tears tattooed on his face immediately walked in and picked up all of my pillows, and shoved them under his sweaty armpits (in the texas heat in july). whyy? overall, i just felt a bit uneasy. Also, two things broke in that move.
It was truly a completely different story with Firefighting’s Finest! I set up my move this week with this company, and would highly recommend them to everyone. they’re truly nice people, too.
They rule, flat out, and I’ll always use them as long as i live around the dfw area!

I hired these guys to help me move out of my 3 floor walk up (yuck). I had 2 large and heavy suitcases, 1 dresser, 4 small tables, 1 coffee table, 2 book shelves, and an assortment of boxes (roughly 12 about the size of a microwave).
I hired them for the minimum of 2 hours and they have everything out of the apartment and loaded on my trailer in 45 mins. These guys were fast and worth the money. One guy literally ran up and down the stairs. Impressed! This same guy carried both suitcases (roughly 50 lbs each).
There were just 2 men and they did an absolutely fabulous job.
