This is a little urban oasis, tucked between Burger Up and low slung office buildings and right there on Cool Springs Blvd on the westside of the 65. If you are lucky enough to work in this area, check out this sweet little getaway. You dont have to don your Wellies or pull out special hiking gear. After a burger at Burger Up, walk past the pergola in the parking lot and go for a stroll on the downward sloping path that leads into the woods(you know you need to walk off that fab milkshake anyway). When it’s hot in Franklin, the shady walk here is a respite from the heat. When it’s cool or cold like today, it’s just a beautiful, sheltered walk that gets you out to commune with Mother Nature at her gentlest. There’s a surprising amount of wildlife on the smooth trails – reptiles sunning themselves seem abundant for an urban park. Also, a small estuary! Yes. Pinch me. There is incredible diversity in this little swath of green in Between the concrete. There’s a nice, compact playground for little guys(and big guys enjoy it too!). And a creek runs through it. Keep a close watch on your little guys and for your budding scientist, explorer, bring magnifying glasses, tree guides, and some binoculars. If you want to spend some time, pack a light pinic. Hats off to the urban planners who protected this sweet spot! Thank you so very much! And make some more of these!
