Schakolad’s chocolate is «Made Fresh on Premises» using a tried and true three-​generation family recipe that calls for the highest quality ingredients and attention to design detail. Our European-​Style chocolate is handmade just as it is in a gourmet «chocolateria.»

With the award-​winning combination of taste and artistry, Schakolad chocolate truly sells itself.

The «Made Fresh on Premises» concept means that chocolate items do not come pre-​packaged from Headquarters, rather that items are prepared and dipped at each individual location. We take custom orders and can personalize chocolate to your needs.

One of my large blessings in life is to have a wonderful wife and son.

With the support of family it makes having a business a lot more enjoyable and fulfilling. I have one brother and wonderful parents as well. We have lived in the Nashville area since 1992. We currently make Franklin Tennessee our long term home. Being able to help make folks feel happy and to be helpful with their gift giving is a lot of fun. Our schakolad team always looks forward to seeing new faces come in the door. We hope to see you soon.

Great place, small and local. Enjoyed two visits while in the area over the weekend. Not sure about the spelling of chocolate in their business name, it’s not English or German. Nevertheless it’s a wonderful place to pick up a chocolate souvenir!

We went on a tour at the chocolate factory. This is not the first time we’ve been on a chocolate tour. The girls who run the tour were friendly, helpful and very informative. We had a great time tasting the different chocolates from different parts of the world and building a solid chocolate house and decorating. Having a competition with other groups made it more fun for the family.
Then after you dunk pretzels, marshmallows, and Oreo cookies which you decorate them.
This was a great place to bring the kids or even just a date night with the wife or significant other for some good, not-​so-​clean fun!
The absolutely best part is that you don’t leave empty handed. We each took about ½ lb of chocolate with us for free.
This tour and fun far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend to anyone. It’s really a great time.

I thoroughly enjoy Schakolad and will be a customer for as long as I can be! I went in a couple of months ago to schedule a tour with some friends for a mom’s night out. That’s when I met the owner and a few of the staff and you can tell they love their jobs. Very friendly, loved telling me all about the business and what they do, telling me jokes and giving me a couple of samples to try. It’s like the place is a party and they are hosts having a great time.
Our group participated in the tour earlier this month and it was fantastic! You learn all about how chocolate is made, sample different percentages of dark chocolate up to white chocolate, there was a chocolate house building contest, dipped and decorated our own goodies, decorated our own chocolate bar, and all while getting to eat as much as we could from the chocolate fountain. It was absolute heaven! The staff was very friendly and very patient with our OCD tendencies when decorating.
To top it all off the chocolates are EXCELLENT! I love to support local businesses, but I honestly have never liked a local chocolatier until now. I will be back often (and will be hitting the gym more to make up for it!) and can’t wait to purchase some of the interesting molded pieces they have for stocking stuffers.
If you have a chance to do the tour, grab a few friends and go for it. It was a great night out!

We had a great time on our tour/​hands-​on experience at Schakolad! The shop smelled delicious — the moment we walked in the door we were happy to be there. Our tour was interesting, educational, very hands-​on, and a lot of fun for the four of us — ages 15 to 55. The staff was very welcoming and worked hard to make sure we had a great time. And last but not least, the chocolate at Schakolad is truly delicious — the truffles, the ganache, the chocolate covered marshmallows, the pretzels, the strawberries… all of the speciality chocolates! We could go on and on. Thanks for a fun evening, Schakolad!

I was visiting TN from CA. My friend bought me a box of chocolates from here as a gift and each one was so PRETTY I almost didn’t want to eat them, but of course I did anyway!
The box it came in was high quality and classy. The chocolates themselves are decorated differently such as gold patterns, pink, white, different shapes even hearts, etc. They almost look like chocolates made for royalty haha. The taste was yummy too like high quality chocolate and not your run of the mill chocolate from a candy bar taste.
I can’t review the actual store because I didn’t go in, but I can definitely recommend their chocolates. Apparently you can order their chocolates online too, which is something my other friend visiting with me looked into doing because once we got back to California she was craving more of their chocolates. So that says a lot that even from states away that we were still thinking about these chocolates from TN.

I purchased a tour of the Schakolad Chocolate Factory off Groupon about a year ago. I had never been there before or had their chocolate. Neither my bf or I were particularly impressed when we got there because it seemed awfully small for a tour. But we were pleasantly surprised and ended up having a terrific experience. We learned all about making chocolate and got to try plenty of different samples. Their chocolate is excellent, staff was great, very informative tour and tasting. Highly recommend going on the tour if you get a chance. It was a lot of fun!

Bought a groupon for a tour/​party and it did not state that the only days that would be offered were mondays and wednesdays. I live 3 hours away and only make it to nashville on weekends. I went to the store on a saturday and explained this and asked if i could use the amount i paid for the groupon to buy chocolate instead. He first agreed but when i picked something out he told me no i had to buy something that was double the amount. His words were «i don’t want to give you something for free i want to make some money». He will never see my money after treating us like that. We left the store and called groupon to get a refund. Horrible customer service!

i met up with some girlfriends for a chocolate class here, and it was spectacularly fun, and yummy. they educate you on the history of chocolate and the different varieties as well as production techniques. you then get to practice being a chocolatier by pouring chocolate molds and dipping other yummies in liquid chocolate. at the end of the night you get to take your chocolate home, and receive an additional 10% discount on any purchase you make that evening. even if you don’t care to take part in a gathering of friends class here, you should stop by and pick up some deliciousness.

I recently visited Schakolad while on vacation from California. The entire staff was super friendly and I was greeted and welcomed by the owner as soon as I walked in. I took the tour and it was so much fun! I really enjoyed learning about, tasting, and even learning the proper way to hand dip, chocolates. The chocolates were absolutely delicious and I ended up buying a few different items to bring home as gifts. This is definitely someplace I will return next time I am in Nashville!

This place is pretty tasty — by far the best thing they have going for them is the raspberry nibbles from Arrington. Its cool they pair local flair with this chain ‘by hand’ chocolate maker out of Florida, but it still doesn’t have the individual flair of a truly artisan experience. I’d compare Schakolad to a slightly better Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory; they even put a lot of emphasis and business on personalizing treats for corporate sales.
Still, I mean — its chocolate and its good, there are just much better options for your dollar in Nashville proper, but if you are jonsing for a treat in Cool Springs its worth a stop. I still recommend sticking with the awesome offering straight from Arrington though ;)

I really hate to write bad reviews, but my recent experience with this business DEMANDS it. Here’s what happened: I placed a special order with S. almost a week in advance of my husband’s birthday. I had about 30 people coming to the party and so needed something substantial to feed everyone! Anyway, I go to the shop the day of the party– 2 hours before, to be exact– and when I arrive, there’s a sign on the door that says, «sorry for the inconvenience, but we’re closed for a private event»!!! I received no phone call, nothing. I called and left a message and still have not received a call back. I was FRANTIC! I had to go to Publix and buy whatever they had there– not the special thing I had ordered, which was a total bummer. Bottom line: this is totally unprofessional behavior. If I did this in my business, I would’nt have any! Shame on them, also, for not calling me back and trying to make it right. Not worth it!!!

Okay — so we slid back to Schakolad and the review deserves an update. Clearly they were suffering some post-Valentine’s day depletion on our last visit. On today’s visit, they were well stocked with lots of great truffles, chocolate covered, you know… everything. My son (not surprisingly) was particularly excited about them having samples out.

The chocolate at this place is really, really good. I had three different pieces and it’s undoubtedly top two chocolate in all of Middle Tennessee. They’ve got a lot of selection, and the place is really nice.
The customer service is top notch. They are really nice, they have a great sense of humor, and they don’t take themselves to seriously, and they clearly love what they’re doing, and this place is part of a chain? Unbelievable! Godiva has nothing on this, and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is pretty much garbage in comparison.
The only issue: the prices. No slice of greatness is worth a massive $ 32 per pound. It’s beyond outrageous; it’s beyond highway robbery; it’s beyond junk bond manipulation. It’s would be as if you could rob Fort Knox. I just can never justify the prices in future. Now, someone who has more money than brains could go there regularly, and many people say I’m already there, but that’s not saying much. It’s muy expensive, and it’s well beyond my means.
But it’s really really tasty.

Like Paul K., I first had a taste of Schakolad’s chocolate at Arrington Vineyards. The raspberry truffle was one of the best pieces of chocolate I ever had and immediately decided to seek out more. Unfortunately it was on a Sunday so I cried to myself when I got there to find it closed, no satisfying my chocolate craving that day.
I finally made it out there when it was open and OMG (yes, in all caps) this is the best chocolate I have ever had. They have a great assortment of truffles (which they have for you to sample), bark, chocolate covered pretzels and cookies, you name it… and its all DELICIOUS. I think we came out of there with one of everything to try. My favorites so far are the peppermint bark and the key lime truffles. My husband is swearing by the whiskey peach truffles.
All chocolate is made in house and it looks like they do some custom work as well if you’re looking for something for a special occasion. I would definitely recommend getting a box (or 5) as a gift for someone (the other 4 to keep for yourself) with a major sweet tooth. If you’re in the Cool Springs area make sure to stop in and check it out!

I’ve been here 4 times and the doors have been open once. They’re not open on Sunday and they close at 6 every other day, so if you’re employed your options are Saturday or good luck fighting traffic. The other time it was closed and I have no idea why (I did not know the hours, so it could have been that) and finally on the fourth attempt I made it through the doors.
Most chocolate joints I would have given up after the second attempt, however this is the crack they give you at Arrington Vineyards. like they say, the first one’s always free… after the hit at Arrington I found myself drawn to this place.
It was like the doors were mocking me — saying «no man, you don’t want any of this… this leads down a dark path. a dark decadent gourmet path that once you go down, you’ll never look at Cadbury again»
They have some fine fine chocolates there…
