I have a 2005 FX35 and it is out of warranty. There are bubbles that appeared within the last 6 month in my dashboard that look unsightly. I do not eat in my car and do not use any air freshener and do nothing else that could have caused this problem. My car is a luxury car. Corporate has called me back and told me that there is nothing they can do about this because it is out of warranty. I am rather upset because this part of my car should have held up better. As of now, i would never buy another Infiniti based on the response from this corporate representative.

I have a 2004 Infiniti FX35 with about 88,000 miles. This is my third Infiniti, I had previously owned a 1998 QX4 and still own a 2003 QX4 that is at a vacation house in Colorado. My FX35 has always been well maintained and obviously has very low mileage for its age. Up until recently, my experience with Infiniti vehicles has been great.
Back about a year ago, I had the FX35 serviced at Infiniti of Santa Monica (now closed for the second time… another long story). The day after service, my wife drove the vehicle up north (a 4 hour trip) and evidently the check engine light came on during the drive. When she arrived at her destination, she took the car to the local dealer and was told the car had no oil. They replaced the oil and about 6 months thereafter the car started making noise on acceleration. The dealer denied having anything to do with the problem. We are now being told the engine is blown and needs to be completely replaced.
We had to drive 45 min to get to a dealer to discuss the situation and they were no help whatsoever. They said they would not work on the engine. On their advice, I then called Infiniti Consumer Affairs and they basically told me there was nothing they could do and to talk to the dealer. Seems like everyone is pointing fingers at each other.
I see a lot of posts on Infiniti sites about problems with the engines and excessive oil consumption. You would think that Infiniti would do something given that I have been a loyal customer over the years. I am not looking for a hand out, just some assistance… something you would think customer service would be all over. They obviously don’t care.
This care is a piece of crap now. I will never ever buy another Infiniti and I certainly recommend that anyone avoid these cars like the plague, least you have an experience like mine. Crappy cars, dealerships going out of business, no interest in customer service. What a great business model.

INFINIT WON’T HONOR WARRANTY.
They will do everything they can to run away from their liability toward defects in workmanship. BBB had tons of complaints about Nissan and warranty issues (500+). All of a sudden that page disappeared. Why and where did it all go? Why is Infiniti/​Nissan doing this? Why are they lying to the consumer when they sell thir cars claiming 4 years of warranty Vs less that the competition offers.
This needs to be investigated.

These people are something else. I bought a 2014 Q50 in January of 2015. just a couple months after owning the car I’ve experienced steering wheel issues. One day before going to work I’ve started my car and the steering wheel was locked while the engine was on. Took it back to the original dealership for service and they tell me they can’t duplicate the issue, so therefore there’s nothing wrong with the car. Now recently at the end of July i was driving the car and the steering wheel decides to get off calibration that might not be the correct term to use. I would drive straight but the steering wheel was to the left side and the car wanted to pull to the right side. I had my fiancé take a picture as were driving to have proof of the cars behavior. This time I make an appointment with Infiniti of Elk Grove and take my car there. As were driving to the dealership the car corrects it’s self. When i get there and show proof of whats going on with my car they tell me that the still need to duplicate the issue even so i have provide proof to them. ill stop here with the dealership they’ll have their own review. Now Infiniti consumer affairs did not show any concern for my safety. they couldn’t assure me that the car was safe t drive and the rep that was helping me sounds like he was reading form a script over and over. these people have no souls and empaty the customers. My car has been to 2 dealerships in short period of time for infiniti connect issues, steering and transmission. This car is a lemon and Infiniti Consumer affairs won’t buy it back. They say that the car hasn’t been at the dealership enough times. It’s truly sad what this world has come to. I have a car now that I’m scared to drive and sits in my garage. I continue to make payments on it. Ive spent 17k as a down payment. The dealership tried to rip me off when i asked them to buy it back. They offered to buy it at what they would buy it from an auction. I’ve owned 7 infniti’s so far and never again will buy another.

spoke with infinity on a BBB complaint. their are over thousands of 2005,06,07e, 08 xterra, pathfinders, frontiers that have a faulty radiator installed creating a destructive transmission, look on the internet and view the problem, my 2005 xterra with 110,000miles has to have transmission rebuilt. due to this faulty radiator installed, with a cost of around 4500.00 Nissan refuses to pay for, they had extended the warranty to 100,000 miles. this does not do anything for people why have had it leak into their transmissions, the problem happens around 100,000 and above so basically Nissan did nothing to help hard working americans who cannot afford new transmissions. This part should have never been installed in these trucks and cars!!!

If you have a friend/​neighbor/​coworker/​FB friend who owns a 2011 – 2012 Infiniti QX56 model they need to know this. Infiniti had a design flaw in the timing chain. Infiniti has since modified the timing chain and this has fixed the problem. However, Infiniti refuses to admit fault and will not reimburse customers who are paying from $ 2,800 — $ 4,000 to repair. Unfortunately this is not the end of the problem. The flawed timing belt put excessive pressure on the catalytic converter and now these are failing at $ 2,800 cost to repair. I spent hours calling different Infiniti Service shops all across the US to try and get an answer because I didn’t believe what they were telling me. Infiniti is blaming this problem on people not using synthetic oil during oil changes and this is clogging oil injectors for the timing chain. That is just not true. Thankfully I found an honest service MGR who was tired of lying to their customers and they told me the truth about the timing chain. Federal mandate numbers must have a 20% failure rate for a Federal recall. My source would not give an exact number for fear of loosing their job but did say it’s way over 20%. We tried going through Infiniti Consumer affairs but they just gave us the run around. We have owned 9 Nissan/​Infiniti cars & SUV’s and even gave all VIN’s to Infiniti after they requested them to re-​review loyal customer case. Got a phone call from Infiniti saying no a second time just minutes after spending hours going through old boxes of files to get the VIN’s. Unfortunately I can’t give zero stars so I’m forced to graciously give them one more star than they deserve.
My experience dealing with Infiniti Consumer Affairs was very poor. My issue pertains to a 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan. Shortly beyond power train warranty expiration (naturally!) I had an issue of an internal oil leak due to a paper gasket used in the rear timing cover that failed. A flimsy paper gasket in a location where it comes into contact with hot oil under pressure every time the car is running in a high revving engine? Genius!
When the gasket inevitably failed, Infiniti consumer Affairs denied any help whatsoever even though the car has been meticulously maintained. Basically I was told, «It’s out of warranty, you’re own your own. Sucks to be you.» This precipitated a repair costing over $ 3000. Out of pocket. Ouch.
Even though this is my second Infiniti and 6^th Nissan vehicle overall, they didn’t care or offer any explanation of why they wouldn’t even consider any assistance. As a 23 year brand loyal customer, this will factor heavily into my choice when it’s time to replace my 4 current vehicles. If I want unreliability I could have bought a German car.

I had read all of the bad reviews with Infinity Consumer Affairs before calling them, but I had no choice. I needed their help. After about 20 minutes on the phone, they had my problem solved, directed me to the closest dealer for repairs and even covered the issues that were out of warranty at no charge. I couldn’t be more happy with their service!

I have been an owner of two Infiniti’s so far. Just recently I trade in my G37 xs for a q50 sport. Since then I have had 5 flat tires with there run flats. I tried calling infinit consumer affairs to get this issue resolved and was surprised that you cannot even talk to someone who can resolve your issue. You have to wait for a callback and god forbid you miss that call you have to wait again because you can’t call them back. For a luxury car brand this type of service is unacceptable. Giving iInfinit a 1 start and it’s highly unlikely that I will be a customer again.

Horrible company as a whole. It’s no wonder their dealerships stinks because the company itself is ran by morons.
Was a G35 coupe owner for 7 years. Was a decent car despite the buffoons who worked on the car due to it’s random problems throughout the year. From scratching my fender 2 days after ownership to destroying my headliner due to the noise coming from the rails.
I finally sold my G35 coupe and picked up a Q50 sedan. This was the worst mistake anyone has ever made. This car does not belong on the street. Anyone who bought it are unwilling beta testers for the company.
The steer-​by-​wire (DAS or Dumb A$$ Steering) is a gimmick and isn’t safe for the street. The inTouch system lags, slow the respond and was released 2 years too early as there are no APPS for it yet. (Lexus enform already has apps fully working).
Their dealerships are filled with scumbags. Especially the Sales Manager (Peter) at Orange Coast Infiniti. Who pulled a bait and switch on me. This left a sour taste in my mouth even more.
There are people hundreds of people who regret buying the car. (see

Stay away from Infinti.

I took my brand new Q50 to a local dealer, Norwood Infiniti in Mass, and the General Manager asked me not to use them for service any more since I didn’t buy the car from them. How’s that for good faith and satisfaction? Sent a letter to Consumer Affairs — should I expect a response?

This posting is a re-​post from one of the dealership sites (Niello in Northern California)… The Infinity Consumer Affairs Rep that deflected responsibility for this issue was Collia, regarding case #11 836 054… Too bad I am even posting this review since the entire issue could have been easily avoided if Infinity NA just took even SOME responsibility for their design and engineering error that is leaving thousands of Infinity owners hanging with broken door locks. Infinity cars = Infinite problems
Over the years, I have had pretty good service from Niello (they are nice people) but I have a major gripe with Infinity’s product quality and their unwillingness to stand by their own faulty components and engineering mistakes — especially with Door Lock Actuators.
I have an FX35 that we purchased brand new at Niello. We put on an average of only 8,000 miles per year, so it looks almost brand new. However, 3 out of the 4 door actuators have mysteriously broken on the car (they won’t lock /​unlock) and I come to find out that this is a KNOWN ISSUE to Infinity affecting thousands of Infinity owners in North America. I also come to find out that is costs OVER $ 600 per door to have the Niello Infinity dealership fix Infiniti’s manufacturing/​design mistake. When I think through this logic, the only word that comes to mind is extortion!
But, rationally, I think to myself that I should call Infinity North America and see if they will stand by their known and pervasive door lock actuator issue and at least meet me part way on the expense of my out-​of-​warranty door locks. I would think a fair solution would be a partial coverage — something like Infinity pays for the parts, I cover some of the labor… And to top off my thought, the helpful dealership service manager tells me that they usually do help out customers in this situation. So far so good, at least at this point I think they might stand behind their faulty design.
However, the Infinity North America Rep tells me that I must go back to the dealership and have them ‘officially diagnose’ the problem. Guess what — it costs me $ 85 to do this, even though we know what the problem is, but I think that is a small price to pay when they will likely stand behind their product and help pay for their own mistake in door lock design. In retrospect, this diagnosis fee is simply another form of extortion — «ya, sure, we MAY help you out BUT FIRST you must take it to the dealership and pay them to have them tell us what we already know…» I am starting the think — ‘hmmmm’
I gave the whole situation the benefit of the doubt and brought the car in to diagnose the problem, pay the $ 85, and learn that it will cost $ 1,905.54 to have infinity fix the problem that they created in the first place. WOW!!! I take time out of my day, spend $ 85 for the diagnosis, it gets sent to Infinity Corporate and their response comes back saying the car is out of warranty so we won’t help you. My response was simply — ‘Really? But this Door Lock Actuator problem is a known issue affecting thousands of Infinity owners’ — just do your own Google search of the problem. The response I get: «I am sorry, sir the answer is no — but is there anything else I can help you with today.» And this response was coming from the manager of consumer affairs for Infinity North America. Poor.
Bottom line: For a premium luxury brand to take ZERO responsibility for a known issue such as this one is clearly either a sign of a car company in trouble or a car company that does not care for its customers. Sadly, this whole situation seems very short sighted, since my wife wants to upgrade to a 7 passenger car and the QX80 is (was?) high on the list.
After further research, it appears that the door lock actuators are not the only problem components in Infinity cars. Apparently, all of the following parts are very problematic:
–Door lock actuators
–Window motors
–Stereo
–Trunk release
Possible Resolution? My hope is that someone from Infinity sees this review, changes their mind, and offers to make good on their engineering/​design flaw. Thank you to places like Unilocal!that allow consumers the ability to share our concerns and stories about the products we buy and the services we consume.
In closing, please be very careful in your consideration of purchasing an Infinity Automobile. You will likely experience problems like I and thousands of others have.

After 3 Lexus I decided to purchase an Infiniti. I purchased a new QX56. I really liked the truck and everything about it. My wife managed to break a part on this 70K truck because it’s made out of plastic. Mind you, my wife is not petite but she’s far from a sumo wrestler. Anyway I brought it in to the dealer for repair. The Infiniti «warranty team» looked at the vehicle and refused to warranty replace it. Turns out this part is connected to other parts that are not broken but would have to be replaced at a cost of over $ 1100! Looks like Lexus is more interested in my business.

I got screwed by Infiniti. They sold me a wrecked QX56 truck as new. Ahhhh… very disappointed. Do Not Buy Infiniti.
I have contacted Sonic, Infiniti of Tysons Corner and their attorney and they are not responding in a timely manner. My safety, patience and good will towards Infiniti brand is wearing thin. Please intervene before this situation becomes an unfortunate PR disaster.
Background.
In October of 2006 I thought I was buying a brand new 2006 Qx56.
I paid market rate for a new car. Not used. Not wrenched. I would have never bought the car had I know it was damaged. See attached document.
Now I find out the car was wrenched, repaired and sold to me as new without my knowledge.
I found out about the accident through Carfax in August 2012 when trying to trade in my truck for a new one due to some serious mechanical issues. See attached document.
Apparently the car was involved in an accident strong enough to deploy the air bags and damage the axel.
Jim Coleman Infiniti service record shows the car was repaired and serviced after the accident.
I contacted Jim Coleman service department and they confirmed that the car was damaged and serviced by them prior to sending the truck over to Infiniti Of Tysons corner. See attached document.
My Claim and demand.
I feel betrayed, swindled and cheated.
They sold me a wrecked truck as new. Unacceptable.
This is plain and simple fraud.
I paid new car price which means I over paid.
I financed the car which means I paid extra interest on an overpriced damaged car.
I insured a car that was not worth the price paid. It was over insured.
Upon trade in my trade in value was depressed due to the fact the truck was in an accident. Airbag deployment is a serious accident with potential frame damage.
Safety Issue
Car was damaged with air bag deployed. Was the air bag replaced? Would it work now? Was I ever in danger? Was my family in danger?
Over the years the car rattled and vibrated at 60 – 80 MPH. Dealer response was to change tires.
Over the year the brakes would regularly perform inconstantly.
My Demand.
A formal apology.
A replacement new 2013 QX56.

One of the things that I absolutely have to have is a car that I enjoy driving. I spend a lot of time in my car and I don’t want to be miserable. A few years ago I bought a G35 Coupe… it is an understatement when I say that I L-​O-​V-​E driving my G35! I will invent reasons to drive places just so I can get on the road with my car… here’s why:
— It has some giddy-​up. Yes, I like to drive fast… in a safe way of course! This car is not only fast, but also quick… there’s a difference. Getting up to highway speeds from an onramp traffic light is so easy. One of my favorite things to do… heh!
— It handles well. There are times where I actually believe my car is on rails… enough said.
— Comfortable interior and cockpit. I love sitting in the driver’s seat and feeling the car take you along for the ride. The controls are intuitive and easy to understand.
— Design. I love the design of the G35… disappointed with the look of the G37 though. I think the G37 is too ‘curvy’…I like the sharper edges on the G35. Hopefully, Infiniti will correct this in future designs.
— Rear seat legroom. You probably think there’s no room for passengers in the back seat… that’s not the case with this car. I’ve had people as tall as 5’10″ sit in the back seat with enough leg and head room to feel comfortable. Over that height and it gets cramped.
Overall, this is one of the best value sports/​luxury cars you can get for the money. It’s reasonably priced and a lot of fun to drive!
