I recently worked with Mohammad Zaman at Cal Coast Financial for the first time. He was great to work with and I recommend him highly. I am a real estate agent and met Mohammad through a mutual buyer we assisted in the purchase of a home.

We recently refinanced our loan with Cal Cost Financial. One of our relatives recommended them and now it is my turn to recommend them. The refinancing process was very easy with them. Steve was very helpful and responsive, and explained everything clearly. Also, he was able to get us a competitive interest rate that I wasn’t able to get from other banks. I was having trouble with the «big banks,» when someone recommended I go to Cal Coast. I met with a rep named George. He was super friendly, which made me a little suspicious at first, but once we got the ball rolling I found him to be genuinely so. And he was super knowledgeable. I got my re-​fi in very little time and at terms I hadn’t thought I could get anywhere near. I highly recommend Cal Coast! They really saved me!

I recently bought a house in San Ramon, CA. One of the key criteria for the offer was that we should be able to «CLOSE» the deal in 10 Days. This in itself was a great challenge; all the big names like Citi, BoA, Wells Fargo flatly refused and said that they cannot even get Appraisal done in this time. Then i approached Mr. Roger Bakshi from Cal Coast and he was very courteous and helpful. He was very confident that he can cut this deal for me and make it happen in 10 days.
Mr. Roger worked really hard and closely with the selling agent and made sure that the deal go through and that I get my dream house.
The deal that I got was really amazing with the lowest rate; beating all competitor rates and also with no closing cost. There was completel transperancy throughout the process. They kept me in loop and informed.
I am ready to re-​finance my home wit them again !!!

Until recently we’ve always refinanced through BofA, Wells Fargo and other big names. We were referred to Cal Coast Financial by a close friend of ours and I would sincerely say these folks are the only people who had our best interests at heart. They worked aggressively with the lender in our favor — something that never happened with any of the banks that just gave us whatever was on the table. Cal Coast got us the best rate bar none … and we shopped around.
I don’t know what to say about the folks who are sabotaging these reviews because my experience was completely different. I wouldn’t be surprised that some of these folks who sought the «security» of a big name bank were also persuaded to believe that anything other than a big bank will be shady. That clearly wasn’t the case here.
People commented about lapses in communication. I’ve never had more than a couple of days without a reply to my emails or calls. Sure, I would have preferred to get contacted in the next 12 hours every single time but that’s never been the case with anyone we’ve ever refinanced with. BofA and Wells Fargo kept us more in the dark than anyone else.
In our case the loan was for a large amount (over 1.5 million) so we had a unique set of hurdles. Unlike the big banks, they were actually able to explain a lot of the nuts and bolts of how they were going to get it done. As usual there were obstacles but our agent was willing to explain them and detail out potential solutions … the big banks always seemed to keep us in the dark as if it was an inconvenience to explain anything and only relayed information to the lender.
IMO, the proof is in the pudding. Regardless of the process or details, Cal Coast came through with a better rate than anyone else.
It’s unfortunate to think the negative reviews are orchestrated attempts to sabotage their business. I say it doesn’t hurt to give them a call to discuss your needs. Give them a chance to make their case.

Zero stars would be better if this site allowed it! Terrible! The loan agent left after we signed papers,(literally), he failed to answer calls, emails, etc, even though we verified he was still with the company! Our realtor finally made everything move for us! However we did not get the keys until 13 days later after we signed because the loan agent’s total lack of professionalism! Me thinks he knew he was going to get a commission from the loan,(because we had signed the papers), and after that he simply could have care less about us!

This mortgage company is as good as it gets when refinancing or purchasing. I shopped around extensively and I also went to Wells Fargo like the other reviewer, and they had .5% higher rate than cal coast. Banks always have many hidden fees people are not aware of until they sign their final documents. Cal Coast not only beat Wells Fargo’s rate but it was a no cost loan. I ended up getting a 30 yr. fixed on a 500 K loan amount of 4.375%. Eric Bergeron was my loan analyst and Naeem Wahab was my loan officer; they both were very helpful, prompt in returning my calls, and answering all my questions. Eric was determined to do what was best for me, not himself. Believe it or not there are good, honest people at mortgage companies, you just have to find the right one. I would definitely recommend Eric and Naeem at Cal Coast to all my friends and family.

This company is filled with nothing but crooks. I refinanced my home with them and I came to learn that after everything was finalized they over charged me for ridiculous fees. The interest rate I received was purposely raised so they could make more money on the back-​end. I learned all this by taking my final docs to Wells Fargo a couple of months later, to fix the loan, since I had a feeling I got suckered. I qualified for a way lower rate than what Cal Coast gave me and the only fees I paid were for processing. DO NOT go outside the banks to refinance and stay away from crooks like these! Their only interest is to make money off of you. Go directly to the banks! It’s these type of people that have ruined people’s lives and helped ruin the home economy. Fortunately, I got lucky this time.
