So originally, when they came buy our home & gave the estimate, the lady Mona was very friendly. Choosing the carpet, she was very friendly as well. So a star for Mona. So when the guys came to install the carpet, originally there where 2 men… But 1 of the men left shortly. So literally there was 1 guy changing the carpets in my home & he did the most sloppiest job possible. I wrote him a check & he asked me if I can give him cash & when I told him I don’t have that large of an amount of cash with me at home, he looked at me like I was dumb. Guess keeping large amount of $ at home is the thing to do. LOL. It was ridiculous so the following day when I called Eli to complain, she sent her guy back, & the first thing he asked was if the check I wrote him was good to cash. I honestly wanted to smack him. He was more concerned with his money & not fixing their mistake. At the end, carpet is all done, still looks horrible. Still very sloppy & I am a hundred percent sure it will start to ware out with in 2 years. I second all those opinions that accuse this place of being fraudsters! They take your money and run! They inproperly installed a toilet back after tiling the floor. That cost us a severe leak and gouging of the ceiling below the toilet. The lady who runs the place, Eli, has no remorse and is quick to state that it’s never her fault. Sure, your crew’s poor work is MY fault! Stay away from this money pit! She’ll promise to send someone over and you’ll never hear back.

Don’t use Payless Carpet. I previously used them to have flooring replaced throughout my condo. The customer service stops once you pay. After paying I had to deal with workers showing up late(and on another occasion not showing up at all), not finishing the job due to lack of materials, and then taking two months to get the materials to finish the job.

Fantastic customer service. I called Payless to come out and give me a estimate for my house that I had just bought. Eli was the one that came out. I told her that I was on a time crunch. She made happen with in a couple of days. The crew that came out was very polite and did a fantastic job installing my carpet. Eli followed up with a courtesy call to make sure I was satisfied. And of coarse I was very satisfied. I would totally recomend them to anyone. Thank you Payless Carpet.

I just called this company for a quote on carpet repair. I was quoted $ 150 to replace a 2 inch square. As a curious consumer I asked why it was so expensive. I wasn’t trying to haggle him and get a better deal. I was simply curious and would like to make an educated decision before scheduling an appt. The guy on the phone responded that he could«call a janitor or a maid and they can probably do it for cheaper» with condescension dripping from every word. Excuse me?! I’ve never run into such poor customer service. Looking them up on Unilocal seems to confirm that what I experienced is the norm. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Nice carpet, unbeatable price, fantastic job on the installation. Eli was very friendly and helpful in picking out the right carpet. I couldn’t be happier with Payless carpet! NOTE: They do not accept credit cards.

Update — we finally got the carpet installed in the closet. The installers were supposed to show up at 8:30AM but they showed up around 10:30 or 11AM(I could have slept in, but no). At least they did a good job and had the right carpet this time. We argued the original price down by $ 70 and decided to pay the rest just to get things done with. I can’t complain about the installers. I think the problem with with the showroom salesperson Elai and her lack of communication with the warehouse. She seems incapable of taking responsibility for admitting to or recovering from her mistakes. There’s a difference between saving face and doing good business. Doing good business means saving face by getting the job done. The carpet installer spoke Spanish with hid kid most of the time. I don’t speak Spanish but my husband does(although the guy didn’t know it). Apparently he was cursing out Elai the whole time, so the customers aren’t the only ones who hate her.
