Dr. Gala told me I had 14 cavities. FOURTEEN. Let me quote what my friend said when I told her that:
«The most cavities I’ve ever had at once was eight, and that was when I lived in a refugee camp with no toothpaste.»
She never showed me any X-​rays to support the diagnosis. She told me that I need Invisalign (I noticed when I left her office that Invisalign gave her a plaque for selling so much of it to patients) and did not once ASK me if I wanted to align my teeth as part of my treatment plan. Dr. Gala doesn’t do amalgam fillings, which is what most basic insurance plans cover, so if you need a filling here you’re trapped with the more expensive composite option. While that alone isn’t a red flag, I can certainly see the incentive to overdiagnose.
I just moved to Fremont and was looking for a local dentist through my company’s insurance. After this nightmare, I drove 1.5 hours up to Davis to see my old, trusted dentist for a second opinion (because I have good dental hygiene and I’m not a meth addict). After he showed me the x-​rays of my perfectly healthy teeth, I confessed to him that I was worried that I may have had up to 14 cavities. He laughed. He thought I was nuts.
It’s Dr. Gala who is nuts. I’d like to believe that she genuinely thought that my entire mouth was rotting away, because it’s much more disturbing to think that a healthcare professional would try to swindle a trusting patient.
I urge you: please, PLEASE find another dentist!

Great doctor explains everything. If the other person received that kinda of bill maybe a mistake was made which we all make! Or she just didn’t listen have over $ 5000.00 worth of work done, and I have no complaints.

I was surprised when I saw the previous review. This is a very nice place and a very good doctor.
I have never had a billing issue with them.
I had to write this since I thought the other review might have been written impulsively out of anger.
I would recommend this place to my friends anytime.

Not sure what goes on here. Was told I was getting a teeth cleaning. Pretty basic, had no pain or bleeding… Took about 15 mins and I was all done. Thought, wow that was fast! Two weeks later I get a bill from my insurance stating I got over $ 1,000 worth of work done! Periodontal scaling and root planing on 4 teeth takes only 15 minutes? I don’t think so. Called delta dental, claimed fraud. I don’t trust them. X-​rays are a rough one there. Never had such a bad time with that.
