Stacey Barrie, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

By far the best OBGYN ever! She delivered my baby in 2013 and will deliver another baby due 2016. Her office is wonderful, her staff especially Jamie is pleasant and most helpful. They are very professional and prompt. Everything you would want in a doctors office and I know this because I am in the medical field myself. She does share a practice with other doctors and the whole staff is very helpful these ladies need a round of applause for all they do!

She is condescending and won’t be as friendly with you if you disagree with her… you’ll notice the tone and personality difference in your next visit after you have disagreed.
look for someone else in the office… the office staff is great!

staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. dr. barrie was very kind, friendly and helpful as well. she’s very knowledgeable and actually listened to my needs and concerns and addressed them. i would definitely recommend her.

I don’t usually write reviews but I’m saddened to see all of the negative reviews. Dr. Berrie was beyond great in delivering my daughter just a couple weeks ago. You are not guaranteed the doctor you see each month to deliver and I was so happy to learn I was going into the delivery room with her as the doctor delivering! She is very professional, helpful, curtious, compassionate, and will answer any questions you might have. During my delivery she was amazing. The way she coached me during each contraction while in active labor was so incredibly helpful. I know that without her, I may have been pushing for a long time! I would highly reccommend her to any friend or family member looking for a doctor. –Kymberly Vazquez

Stacey Barrie as a doct is okay.
However her staff is horrible and they do not follow up on getting test results from other labs before the next visit.
When confronted why, they make lame excuses such as fax not received yet and blame me for being «rude».
Since the doctor seemed more worried about my «rudeness» with her staff and defended her staff than making sure to discuss my test results during my office visits, we decided to go with another doct.

Suprised to see many negative reviews
Dr Barrie was very weight consious, but she was doing this for the patient’s benifit
She was always pleasent — not very friendly, but coutious.

I cant believe theres so many bad reviews about dr. barrie. I first met with her while I was pregnant with my first daughter over 4 years ago. She’s a great doctor. She’s very experienced and professional. Even with my second baby she was still just as great (although she wasnt the one delivering her). She answer any questions you may have and patient with you.

First, I’d have to start off by saying that I am guilty of being a Unilocal follower. By that, I mean I look at reviews before actually checking the place out for myself. After reading all the reviews, I was actually scared to see Dr. Barrie and hear what she had to say. In this case, YOU GUYS ARE ALL WRONG. Every single person in there was very nice and very professional. I was treated very well by the receptionist, the nurse AND Dr. Barrie. Dr. Barrie did mention that I needed to watch my weight, and it’s true. It’s nothing to get sensitive over.
This place is great. I’m glad I ignored all the negative posts and went with my gut. :)

I think Dr Barrie addressed all my needs in a very professional manner.
Being that I’m 51 yrs old I have been to a lot of doctors in the past, I love that Dr Barrie will spend as much time as need to make me feel like I’m important, and not just a number. She is very up front and compassionate.

I am really surprised to see bad reviews for Dr. Berrie. From day one, she was friendly and very professional. She takes time to answer your questions. I am not sure about other issues like weight gain coz one time I came to see her with 7 lbs in a month and she asked me to watch my diet and eat small portions. But I never had any complains about her. If it was my first pregnancy I might be over whelmed by all the tests and concerns from the Doctor but Doctors make sure that their patients are doing well. During my pregnancy, I had severe allergies including wheat and rice allergy, I had diabetes etc. I totally understand the concerns of doctors and I appreciate that they take their time to listen to their patients and make sure that they are doing okay. I am really surprise to see that people has so many negative things to say about her. I think she is awesome actually the whole group is awesome. I went to see her even after reading some not so good reviews and found her and the whole group AWESOME.

Dr. Barrie is FANTASTIC. She is supportive, patient, kind and informative. I have been a patient since early 2003 and have only experienced good things with this practice. I saw Dr. Barrie during my pregnancy. She did not deliver my son, but I saw her many times throughout my pregnancy and after. She has never been rude or condescending about my weight or anything else. She takes her time to answer my questions calmly and ensures I understand what she is explaining to me. I moved a few months ago and I am now an hour from her office, but I plan to continue to use her as my GYN.

Extremely rude customer service. Our insurance requires us to have prior approval for out of the area service. The receptionist «Leila» (as she called herself) was extremely rude. I asked for the doctor’s information or proof of appointment in an e-​mail in order to have approval so that insurance will pay for the visit. She would not send any e-​mails and rudely spoke to me on the phone. She said she could give me a paper once I came in for my appointment, but not ahead of time. I stated over and over again I could not go in without prior approval from my insurance provider. How is it possible you can give me a piece of paper if I came in for my appointment with the doctor’s information, yet you can’t ahead of time.
I asked to speak to her boss, she said hold on and HAD THE NERVE TO PICK UP AND CALL HERSELF THE BOSS. You work in the front office, I asked for your boss who is clearly the doctor. She laughed it off and said she owned the office. If you owned the office, wouldn’t you be busy looking at patients and wouldn’t your name be on the office? Extremely unprofessional to call yourself the boss.

From what I know, she is good at Caesareans, but I personally didn’t feel supported by her for natural childbirth and coming from a natrural medicine and ayurvedic wellness counselor vantage. She’s controlling and expects you to come in once a month even when a high risk specialist already checked me for that month. Don’t suggest not following the rules, don’t be smarter, don’t question her or this clinic because they want 100% control. I didn’t agree with over paying them for monthly appointments to check blood pressure, weight and urine (even if it has already been checked and they have copies), and you must absolutely have your delivery here. Keep in mind you don’t even know who will be delivering you and you might not have met them yet, but they want 100% commitment and obedience. That appointment they demanded I keep the month I had a double appointment, Dr. Barrie cancelled a half hour beforehand. It was unaceeptable that I had decided to deliver elsewhere, and though I still needed the glucose test, was going out of state, and my midwife was unavailable, Dr. Barrie refused to issue my glucose test and callously told me not to come back. She seems very nice if you’re compliant, agreeing with all of her opinions and following orders without questioning, but if you step out of line, beware. She’s one unpredictable doctor at the expense of being unprofessional. Who cancels appointments half an hour beforehand telling a patient not to come back when I have been only respectful and polite to her. I’d not recommend anyone go to this clinic because they think focusing on problems and being negative is practicing great medicine, and I prefer to receive uplifting medical care from caring people who listen and know how to be respectful to patients who can think for themselves enough to want to participate and have their opinion valued in their own medical care. As an attorney and someone who had a 3.8 in my science pre reqs for medical school, and a fairly intelligent person, I really don’t need to be treated like my doctor is the only one who knows anything. That’s the impression she gave me. I’m a person who has successfully treated myself for MS and hyperthyroidism, and I had difficulty trying to get the tests that I needed without having to justify everything. But my wishes were ultimately confirmed by the high risk specialist on the frequency and level of hormone testing I needed beyond what this clinic thought was necessary. So what does that say? It says they’re not always right. And I just want to add that when I tried to transfer my care out, Dr. Barrie was uncooperative with me and would not authorize my gestational diabetes test to be given even though my midwife was out of state.

I second your comment about Stacey Barrie. Its one of the worst experiences I ve ever had. I had the same experience with Gene Barrie rather he was even worse. He was absolutely ruthless and unfriendly and uncouth and had no feelings whatsoever towards human beings.

I have been going to Dr Barrie’s office for 4.5 years now. Dr Gene Barrie delivered my son, and Dr Stacey Barrie delivered my daughter. I love them both. In my opinion I honestly think they are the best! I had an unusual extreme case of after birth complication and lost 40% of blood. Dr Stacey Barrie was there for me all the way with utmost care. And she even called late at nite to check on me. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor or care. I trust Dr Barrie whole heartedly and I miss seeing them (now that I’m not pregnant :) Dr Jing Dai at Dr Barrie’s office is also very professional, friendly & caring. I recommended Dr Barrie to all my friends and they are all very happy with her. I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. I will definitely come back to her if I am expecting again. I actually see her for my annual check up now.

I have to say after reading all the negativity I was very skeptical about going to see Dr. Barrie. My mom has been going there forever, I am not fat but not thin so I was afraid that she was going to say something about my weight. Plus my husband always goes in to the room with me. She was amazing, answered all our questions and did not mention my weight. Made a few jokes. I will go back anytime and tell my friends to go see her.

I’m sorry to see so many negative reviews, because my experience with Dr. Barrie was great. When I was having infertility questions/​issues, she took her time with me, answered my questions, ordered the tests I wanted (didn’t push the million-​dollar work-​up) and was very professional and supportive.
When I became unexpectedly pregnant, again — she was great. Since I’d had a few miscarriages, she let me come in every week during the first trimester to do an ultrasound — just for my peace of mind (there was nothing she could have done if something did go wrong). I appreciated her honesty and kindness. If you’re having a high-​risk pregancy, she’s a good doctor to have.

This review is for both Doctors Stacey Barrie and Prasad. I had the misfortune of having them as my OB-​GYN to treat a certain condition after I delivered a baby. They were unsuccessful in treating me and just pumped antibiotics without trying to understand the reason for my compromised immunity. After few relapses, I switched my doctor and have been infection free ever since. I am very happy with my current doctor and now know the difference between an excellent doctor and an average doctor. My present doctor gave me certain simple and practical suggestions that boosted my immunity — something I did not receive from Barrie and Prasad.
If you expect your doctor to walk the extra mile of investigating the underlying cause of an infection and not just dole out medicines, this is not the medical group one should consider.
Even during the term of my pregnancy, I found them to be only average. They failed to strike a connection with me. My fault is not to have acted on my instinct to switch doctors while being pregnant. I thank my stars that my delivery went without complications as I am scared to even think what they would have done to me in case of an emergency.
I do not recommend them.

Not only is she weight unfriendly, she’s downright scary. She is quick to judge a miscarriage before any symptoms occur which is of concern since she does not do any blood tests at all to see what the status of the pregnancy is. And if you have multiple miscarriages, she refuses to do testing until the third miscarriage (even if you’re approaching 35). She has no manners about it either saying things like wait till you’ve miscarried three times, then we’ll look at it.
Additionally, she is ignorant of vegetarian issues — i.e., no soy milks have sufficient protein or calcium (Silk Soy is supplemented with calcium, B12, folic acid… all of the things a pregnant vegetarian would want!), and is rude and condecending in the way she addresses people.

OMG, why didn’t I ever look up on Unilocal!Dr. Barrie is absolutely unprofessional. I am glad that she has been nice to a few Unilocalers at least. You gals are really lucky.
Here is my experience. I went to her for a routine visit and she started lecturing me about my choice to be ‘vegetarian’, then she asked me whether I workout, turns out that she and I are members at the same local health club. She then started making very unprofessional comments about my trainer and said that I should seriously consider switching my trainer. Then as she began the routine examination she pointed out that my muscle toning was not at it’s best and I should shed a few more pounds if I wanted to live longer ((duh)), I am an Asian Indian ethnically and genetically we can become skinny but not as well toned as the caucasian women do.
Later she started commenting upon genetics and saying things such as my parents must have bad genes in them, that’s why I cannot have a good muscle tone. I was absolutely shocked and horrified. I didn’t know how to react and I couldn’t believe that I was hearing her right. I was petrified, ready to break into tears and as the last straw she kept making some more race-​insensitive remarks. After we were done she quickly hurried left the exam room and I left her office. There were no second thoughts, let alone apologies. It was very sad and heartbreaking for me. What had I done to deserve this?
I have promised myself to keep my cool even when I see her at the health club. She was not worth my time until I read thse reviews and I cannot believe that she has been rude to other women too.
I am not ashamed to say that Dr. Stacey Barrie needs some sort of reorientation about the fact that she is in the Bay Area and not in a tiny town of Kansas. Fremont has 10 percent Asian Indians and what she is doing can be percieved as racist with a capital R!
