Eric Meyer, DDS

I will first say I have had Dr. Eric Meyers as a dentist for over 10 years. I will also say that the dental work has been ok with the standard fillings, root canals and crowns.
I started to notice a change a few years ago in office staff and the business side of his practice just didn’t add up.
His procedures started to get higher and unreasonable in price. Our Insurance is the best in the Industry. It pays 95% to 75% for most all procedures and yet the last quote I got was almost $ 1k for a deep cleaning. That was the last straw. I called my Ins. Provider, only to find out my share after Ins. was $ 50. I checked and double checked. I will admit it is my responsibility to not trust and make sure to verify.
The last time and I mean last time, we ever used this office was for a root canal for my son. Again we were over charged by 50%. No more.
Got go now. I have an appointment with a trusted Dentist. Beware and always call your Ins.

Came here as a new patient for a root canal. They told me I need $ 2,200 of work which I found shocking. Had the root canal and crown done at the tune of $ 600. $ 370of that was for a «gum contour» which I would think be included. After a year of slight pain I found a new dentist to look at that same tooth and was told they probably missed some nerves. Now I have to see a specialist. They’re nothing but scam artists. I would sue if I hadn’t signed a book of documents.

I went to Dr. Meyer as a new patient because I wanted to check out a dentist who was closer to home. Initially, I went in just for a cleaning. At the end of my appointment he had told me that I needed two crowns. My cost was going to be $ 2,500 + which seemed like a lot to me, plus I’m 24 and a crown seemed a bit unnecessary. I decided to get a second opinion from a dentist that I’ve been going to since I was 5 years old. He told me that I absolutely did not need a crown and that all I needed was a filing. He said this is exactly what he would tell his own granddaughter. I feel that this dental office is a scam! Most places have different opinions but I think if I really needed a crown, all dentists would tell me the same thing. I would not recommend this dental office. This is not a place that has your best interest in mind.

Dr. Myer and his team go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The office is very clean and up to date with the most modern technology. Plus, the views from the treatment rooms are awesome.
Casey, the hygienist, always does a great job to make my teeth feel squeaky clean. She is so sweet and friendly, I look forward to me visits!

The negative reviews are correct! This Dentist overcharges and the staff are friendly while trying to sell you on overpriced dental work that elsewhere I found to be a fraction of the cost. I was hounded by the sales lady in charge of «closing» your dental plan package (could buy a car) that is ridiculous. They called for over a year and the truth is if they had offered any kind of discount considering their prices are way above the three I checked with after leaving his office. If they had said they would work with me and bring the retail +++ price down to something more manageable they may not have lost me OR several others from what I’m reading.
The facility may have TV and a golf course but the décor is from the 80’s — lets don’t forget that the so called cleaning included with insurance is really just a firm brush floss deal because anything more is an up charge !! I wonder if the insurance companies know this! SHOP AROUND ITS VERY WORTH IT! this Dentist and sales lady need to work harder at giving a good value for the thousands of dollars it cost the patient to help them and keep the business. If they can pay money for this sales lady they might as well give a reasonable discount instead!

I am not going to tell you my story. All I will say is that is it indeed true that this office lacks professionalism and kindness. Furthermore, and definitely more important, the office recommended an expensive procedure that was not necessary. How do I know that? Well, I got a second opinion from another dental office and they could’ve believe what was recommended to me.

Dr. Meyer is an amazing dentist. His office is clean and professional. I actually had a great experience here. The front desk is not rude at all so I am not sure what the other peoples reviews were about. Mindy cleaned my teeth and was very gentle and thorough. I would definitely come back here for all my dental needs!

I have been going here for years! The staff is always friendly and smiling, happy to serve their customers. The office is very clean and beautiful! They don’t keep you waiting and at first arrival they offer coffee or water to patients. They were quick, efficient, friendly, and very accommodating. I recommend Dr. Meyer to all my family and friends!

I have been a patient of Dr Meyer for several years and have referred many friends and family to him. He is a terrific dentist with a very friendly staff. I have NEVER had to wait for my appointment and he is so gentle when it comes to dental work. My kids and I also love his hygienist!!!

After being a loyal patient for 3 years, and bringing my family here. I will no longer return.
I like the office, it is very clean and state-​of-​the-​art, but when it comes down to it, your customers and your patients should feel welcome. Your staff that answers the phone, leaves messages and interacts with you should be kind and professional. It does not matter about the dentist, you can find great ones anywhere — try 1−800-dentist. I am very disappointed with the front end staff.
1. I had a cleaning appointment on Thursday. I arranged to have my kids picked up from school and taken care of at their grandmother’s house a few blocks away.
2. I got stuck in terrible traffic off the ⁶⁰⁄₅₇ freeways and out of courtesy called to let the office know I may be a few minutes late.
3. The lady answering the phone did not apologize or act with any type of empathy, rudely told me to hold on while she spoke to the hygienist and then after 3 minutes on hold told me I had to reschedule (these appointment are booked 6 months in advance).
4. I said «well let’s go ahead and reschedule, what do you have open?». She said «October 15 at noon».
5. I asked «well can you tell me what day of the week that is, I am driving and not looking at a calendar?». Again, no apology just «yeah», «Wednesday».
6. I hung up feeling awful and could not stop thinking about the lady that was a total «B» to me. She made me feel like I was scum for missing my appointment and could not even say «thank you», «thanks for the business», or «we look forward to seeing you»…etc.
7. The irony is the freeway cleared up and I passed their office 6 minutes late on the way to pick up my kids!!! I was refused service because of six minutes.
My husband has open enrollment next month and we will change to his dental insurance, I will not return to this location. It is too bad, I really like our hygienist Mindy. She is so kind and does a great job but at the end of the day — your front end staff reflects you and your business, and Dr. Meyer must be okay with the way they treat patients, even past reviews speak to the bad behavior of the front staff.
I would hope he holds a meeting where they all get some much needed training on respecting patients and treating people with kindness.

BEWARE!
Dr. Meyer suggests procedures that are unnecessary and that other dentists (as you seek a second opinion) do not recommend. His fees are exorbitant as compared to other local dentists.
The front office staff are rude and not well informed.
Dr. Meyer is in it for all the money he can con out of his patients/​insurance companies — not what’s in their best health interests.

I highly recommend you visit Eric Meyer DDS. The office is clean and welcoming. The staff are kind and efficient. I have always gotten the dental care I need here.
I have never had a problem making an appointment at the office and the hygienists do a great job for regular teeth cleaning.
Dr. Meyer is very personable and professional. I am surprised at the other Unilocal reviews, and I have always found the price at this dental office very reasonable.

Dr. Meyer and his staff are professional, friendly, and welcoming. His office is clean and inviting. They have taken good care of me for several years, including when I was pregnant. Dr. Meyer was able to treat a recurring cavity and a cavity on the neighboring tooth without having to have a root canal done. The first time my crowns were placed, one did not fit correctly. I had no issues having the crown redone, and now everything is great. He has always been very up front about my options and has never been pushy with his recommendations. I highly recommend you give him a try!

Dr. Meyer and his staff are extremely professional, friendly, and thorough! I have been a patient for over 10 years and always recommend Dr. Meyer to anyone looking for a dentist. The office is immaculate and the chairs overlook a golf course-​nice view! Dr. Meyer is the best!

Been looking for a dentist to settle down with and Dr. Meyer won’t be the one.
Pros:
His office is very clean, organized, modern equipment, flat screen TV’s in every room and there is plenty of parking in front of his office. His staff is very nice and friendly and I have to give it up to his dental hygenist, I believe her name is Mindy. Mindy is great! Dr. Meyer’s work is not to shabby either– no complaints from me. I never felt like he was over diagnosing to make $ off of me.
Cons:
Any procedure with Dr. Meyer is VERY expensive. He charges quit a bit more for basic services compared to other densist I’ve had in the past– deep cleanings, white fillings and crowns were all VERY costly. I often found myself in sticker shock when his staff was reviewing cost for procedures. Also, paper work provided makes it seem like he may work with you on pricing but it’s not the case. For the most part this is why I had to go else where.
Bottom line: I don’t want to pay extra for the fancy office, flat screen TV’s and view of the golf course. If I can find a good/​trustworthy dentist with reasonable prices and less fluff… I’m in.

I went to Dr. Meyer in 2009. Since then my employers wife, my neighbor and my wife have become patients. I highly recommend this dentist. The reason for my first visit was a tooth ache. again! I have always had horrible, ugly teeth and I seldom posed for a photo with my teeth showing. I broke a front tooth 20 years ago and I still had the temporary cap on it. I have gone to several dentists over the years who have started a major overhaul but because of the lack of good insurance or cash I never completed what was started. I finally made the decision to get a beautiful smile and when I went to Dr. Myer for the tooth ache I told him I wanted to finally have a smile that was dazzling but had always stopped short due to the lack of cash. Dr. Meyer did a thorough examination of my teeth and to my surprise he gave me two or three different treatment paths. His front desk hooked me up with a couple of finance companies I was able to use, with 0% interest and now when someone says, «say cheese,» I give them a big smile. Thanks Dr. Meyer!!!

I have always been terrified of dentist offices and I inevitably paid the ultimate price :/​Dr. Meyer and his incredible staff have blessed with a second chance to help restored smile.
I have read the previous reviews and disagree completely. Dr. Meyer is an awesome DDS and knows what he’s talking about.
I nearly broke down into tears to find out that I am finally going to receive the treatment I have long been waiting for!!! (Which is from about 2007!!!)
Dr. Meyer and his staff are such a blessing to me and I don’t know what I would do without them!

My story very similar to other reviews. Really shouldn’t even receive 1 star. Within 2 visits of seeing him for the first time his hygengists do a quick crappy, sloppy job cleaning. And dr Meyer said I needed 2 crowns, 1 tooth slightly bothering me and other I didn’t notice anything. Apparently I was too trusting and figured he knew best. Probably didnt need either
He told me 1 price and then when it came time to put crowns in the price changed. He tried to sneakly upgrade the crowns and have us pay a little more.
On top of it the lady whom works at the front desk and deals with insurance is extremely unprofessional and down right rude!
Found another dentist right after all this and was told what a poor job he did. I am so irritated and disgusted with his office!!!

I have been going to Dr. Meyer since 1998. In the past 14 years I have had 2 root canals, 2 crowns, 12 molars sealed, a set of braces, my wisdom teeth removed, and 2 cavities filled, not to mention 14 sets of X-​rays & 28 cleanings.
I have anxiety in general & it heightens when I go to the dentist. However, I’ve always been accommodated and the hygienists and staff have been friendly and mostly understanding about my anxiety.
I will be the first to say that he is expensive and if you are looking for an affordable, average priced dentist, you might want to look elsewhere. However, with that said, I am willing to pay more and keep going to him because of the quality of service I get. He does air on the side of caution and prevention when it comes to dental work needed.
Trust is huge for me and when someone is working on your mouth, you want to make sure they know what they are doing. Dr. Meyer is constantly seeking new training and receiving certificates in the latest dental work and technology. His latest achievements are displayed in the waiting room. Being up-​to-​date is his specialty :)
Going to the dentist is never fun and its hard to find someone you trust. I will continue to go to Eric Meyer for all my dental needs!
