Matthew is an amazing artist! The photos he captured are truly stunning and we could not be happier with his work. His work is consistent. Both the engagement photo shoot and the wedding photos are great.
A great feature of his work is how invisible he is during the ceremony. Our wedding was outdoors in a quiet location. It was nice to have a photographer that worked to not take attention away from the ceremony. The best part was that he stayed at the event all the way to the end. He captured some classic photos at the end of the night.
It was very easy to work with Matthew. He is a good communicator and was always on time. He worked well with all of our other vendors and our coordinator. Matthew got us sneak peak photos very fast and the remainder of the photos were delivered soon after.
Lastly, the artistic images he created were one of a kind and something you will not find with any other photographer.
We would recommend him for any kind of photo shoot, especially weddings!

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to say that Matt has been a friend of mine since high school. So I’ve been following his work for many, many years. And I have to add that I’m close friends with probably half-​a-​dozen photographers. When the day (finally) arrived that I got to take engagement photos, my choice was easy. Truth is, I knew I wanted Matt to do my engagement photos before I even knew who I’d be marrying! There is something about Matt’s photos that transforms each shot into a work of art. I love his personal touches and the feel he creates in each session. With our photo session, even though I knew Matt so well, I was very nervous. He was able to make me laugh and relax, and within minutes I was comfortable and even having fun! The end results were breath-​taking. We used his photos for our save-​the-​dates, and for display at our wedding, and a few we liked so much we had them framed and gave them to our families. Matt was super easy to work with, and open to suggestions on location and any special shots we wanted. Looking forward to another excuse to book a photo session with him again.

Matthew is more than just a photographer who documented our wedding: he’s an artist who collaborated with us and the whole team to help create our visual story from beginning to end.
We first hired him for engagement shots to see if we worked well together. As a gay couple, we were sensitive to the fact that not everyone would be comfortable or adept at wedding photos for a same-​sex wedding. Even though he was based in CA and we were in NY, he flew cross country to take the shots. The results were spectacular, a diverse array of images that were a perfect combination of solid pics, creative shots we requested, and unique experiments that allowed him to show us what he is capable of. We also were able to experience what a nice guy he is, how much preparation he put into the project, and how comfortable he made us feel.
The decision to hire him for the wedding was an easy one. When we decided to use one of the engagement shots for our save-​the-​date, he was so excited by the concept that he offered to travel to our wedding location, take additional photos, and then design the save-​the-​date himself. It was an impressive amount of additional time and labor, and yet he never attempted to nickel and dime us.
The day of the event, he and his assistant arrived early and had an organized itinerary for the day. It was clear Matthew had done an impressive amount of planning and research to find the best backdrops to the photos, both at the venue as well as at amazing nearby off-​site locations. He works well with groups of all size, couple shots, family shots, as well as candids. The resulting photos are precious memories that we will cherish forever.
In short, we have nothing but praise for Matthew William Photography.

We found Matthew randomly online and we were immediately taken with his work. Being wedding photographers as well, we were looking for something different than what we were used to and super creative and artsy. Matthew did our wedding out in Palm Springs and delivered his images via online gallery and 3 available formats web, high res or original, which I really appreciated. In fact, without the online viewing gallery, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy a nice slideshow on our TV without it.
Every image was amazing. The editing, the eye, the artistic flair. I’m extremely happy with how the photos turned out. Also when Matthew works, he gets his shots without taking too many snaps, and the posing and direction is minimal at best.
He surprisingly gave us numerous fine art images which were super cool. We definitely will be blowing up a couple of images for ourselves.
Even during this time, Matthew was in the process of moving out of state and having a baby so I really appreciate his communication throughout and his work.

Matt was an absolute pleasure to work with. My wife and I feel we really got a good quality service for a fair price. We loved his artistic approach to taking photos but also loved that it was not overly artistic where it took away from the overal moment. He was an absolute ninja and was able to get places and take photos from angles we didnt even think possible. He captures real emotion and was a pleasure to work with. He really has an eye and amazing communication.

Could not be happier with our choice of photographer for our special day! Matthew made us feel so comfortable and really captured how fun the day was for us. He is a one man show and does not miss any detail. I am so happy to have these pictures forever. He is very professional, timely, and works hard. Thank you!!!
