California Burrito with Carne Asada is the best thing in the world! I love this place. It’s always fresh and tasty!

Hidden gem! I honestly keep coming back for their California burritos and Asada fries. Keep in mind that in their asada fries, they do add little pieces of chicken (or non-​beef meat). And in their guac, they add lettuce (I suppose to keep costs affordable and the business profitable). But they do give you heaps of food!
To give you an idea of their generous portions, my boyfriend and I come here to get 1 California burrito and have them cut it in half and by the time we are done with our burrito, we are full.
They have all kinds of sauces for your food including Frank’s hot sauce and Tapatio. I always ask for no beans in my asada fries because I don’t really like beans with fries. But this is definitely the local go-​to spot for your Mexican food! They do not accept credit cards and charge extra for debit.

I got the California burrito & nachos. The carne asada in the Cali burrito was heavily seasoned with black pepper which made it somewhat unpleasant to even finish half the burrito. Nachos were good but was drench with pork sauce, guacamole, beans, and cheese. Had to dig through the all the stuff to find my chips. I tried the chili cheese fries my friend ordered and didn’t like the taste of it. Overall, they have great service but foods were just okay.

If your white or Asian you’re probably going to be content with kind of food they serve here. But if you’re Latino you know better stay away from here. As far as prices go if you think a burrito is worth $ 8 or $ 10 with a drink than you my friend are wasting your money.

Let me preface this with, I’ve only been here once, had one meal and spent maybe 15 minutes inside. I might not have gotten the full picture of this place, but regardless this is my first impressions.
I got the California burrito that came out falling apart, it was not wrapped. It may be hard to believe, but literally it was like the tortilla was thrown on top of the filling. After rewrapping my burrito I notice there is no guacamole, which comes standard. I ask and they bring me a cup of guac and a fork to make it work. Ok, up to this point I can understand mistakes are made and the biggest priority is taste and quality of the food.
Sadly they fell short here too. The guac was actually fiesta guac with tomato, onions and possibly other ingredients. Then the meat is ground beef like a burger, which would have been ok if it had flavor.
Maybe the specialty here isn’t california burritos, but it should be a little better than what I had if I’m gonna come back for a second chance.

Nice spot within walking distance from CSUF. I would say it is pretty authentic, but on the pricier side for Mexican food.
Service:
First thing I noticed was the extra charge for using a credit card… I didn’t know places still do that, but I guess that is still a thing. It’s a hit or miss with service but in the end the food speaks for itself.
Food:
Carne asada fries
— So far, the favorite dish on their menu. I am huge fan of fries and throwing some cheese, guacamole, and carne asada tops it off perfectly. The guacamole that comes with the order is a big plus.
Flautas
— Pretty good. They served it on a paper plate so be careful if you eat it with a fork and knife. The bottom of the plate became soggy by the time I finished the dish.
Breakfast burrito
— HUGE portion. You will not be hungry after this burrito nor can you finish. Average breakfast burrito. I would order it again if I were starving.
Overall:
I would go back for sure. It’s tough when El Farolito’s is just a drive away.

Been coming here for years– mostly for the massive breakfast burrito that’s second to none! For some reason, their taco salad is also better than the Brea location’s taco salad. The staff is also much nicer here and more willing to make substitutions, like extra meat instead of beans. I love the added convenience of the drive-​thru, even though they don’t accept credit cards. I come here regularly and love it, although I like taking my food to go over dining in, since the area is a bit shady. I’ve only ever been disappointed in the chili cheese fries, as they were really soggy and didn’t come with any extra toppings (like onions or sour cream), but otherwise… everything else I’ve tried has always satisfied my Mexican food cravings!

This is my favorite place for fried tacos located in Fullerton California. The tacos are made with corn tortillas, shredded roast beef then deep-​fried, garnished with shredded lettuce, Monterey Jack cheese and cheddar cheese. When you bite into the taco there’s a big crunch and then your mouth is filled with flavorful shredded beef cheese. They make their own hot sauce, they have a red and a green both are very very tasty and spicy. I ordered the plate which consists of refried beans rice and the two tacos. The refried beans are excellent, I can tell they’re made with lard, lard it gives A unique flavor that makes it authentic Mexican refried beans. I normally don’t eat rice, but this rice is a must have, The rice is browned before they add water to cook. It gives a unique taste, than they top it off with their homemade chili Verde sauce which is absolutely delicious.

If you are a local, you already know this is the spot. Shredded beef tacos, hit the spot if you are in the mood for greasy Mexican food. They put a lot of meat and cheese which is great! I know everyone always talks about the breakfast burritos, I personally don’t eat them but everyone I know that does goes here to get them!

Wow the california burrito was on par to the california burritos I had in San Diego! So happy I found this place. What stood out to me was that the carne asada meat was really good– tender and flavorful. The next time I get it though, I’m going to ask for less french fries and more pico de gallo. There was just too much potato in my burrito I had to take it out.

The chile relleno burrito is my go-​to, but everything else here is delicious. The guacamole tacos have way too much guac but when I get them I get chips and have plenty of dip from the tacos to use.

This is one of my guilty pleasures. My boyfriend and I used to live in San Diego before moving into the area for school, so we occasionally crave the perfect burrito. I’m not saying that this place is San Diego status, but for being in Fullerton-​it does the trick!
We always end up getting the breakfast burrito. These come out like little babies. These burritos are huge and if my boyfriend isn’t starving, we can easily share one. I gave their salsa a chance but I didn’t care for it. You have to enjoy the breakfast burrito with good olé ketchup! The cheesy potatoes, the crispy bacon along with the refried beans are a bit indulgent but so worth it!
I love how you can order the breakfast burrito anytime you want! It doens’t have to be breakfast time! Order this with a large horchata and dinner is served!

You can never go wrong with an order of Pepe’s! If you’re lucky enough to get a chance to go here, GO! Disappointed is rarely a word you hear from customers. I mean how can one be unsatisfied with affordable choices that are monstrous and delicious?!
BURRITOS: Even the simplest item like a Bean and Cheese Burrito is bulked up with not only the two ingredients but with flavor! California Burritos are a hit here due to their ingredients of Carne Asada, Fries, Sour Cream, Cheese, and Guacamole. Although that is a popular item, I would pick their breakfast burritos over any item here any day! When I say huge, I mean it! Crammed with eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, salsa, bacon, sausage, and yes… beans and you have yourself a top grade breakfast burrito that is served all day long!
FRIES: whether you order them plain, with cheese, or get the «Carne Asada Nacho Fries» (cheese, guacamole, beans, and Carne Asada-​add sour cream!) you’ll be happy! When you order a side of fries expect them to be well proportioned like all the other choices on the menu! This is one side you can share and enjoy with two or even three people!
Pepe’s is definitely one of the MVP’s of fast food Mexican resturants! This is the place where cravings are met and bellies expand! For anyone curious about going here, it’s not debatable! Get up and go stuff your face at Pepe’s!
TIPS:
–To anyone ordering small fries or a small burrito, there is NO such thing as small here!

Great food. Great prices. Gigantic portions. I love this place, and I’ve been coming here for awhile. Pepe’s has the best burritos in Orange County – a bold claim, I know, but I stand by it.
I get the breakfast burrito or the feared Mexicali, which involves lots of varieties of meat thrown into an urban food tube.

So up to the writing of this review 170 people mentioned the breakfast burrito in their reviews. So I had to try it out. If say most of the reviews think highly of it but I’d say something a little different.
I received a bacon breakfast burrito after waiting a while and asking for a sausage one. But none of the less, I like bacon too so I was fine with that mistake. I’ve tried a lot of breakfast burritos but this one lacks the flavor and spices that you would expect from a good burrito. I tried to use the red sauce they gave but it didn’t really make it better. In fact, I actually find the red sauce to be pretty bad.
I’m not giving one star because it wasn’t gross, it just wasn’t that great. The portion size was really large too so what they lacked in quality they made up for in quantity. Like eggs, it had a lot.
I might try something else they have and update my review later but as for the breakfast burrito, I’m done with that.

I recommend Pepe’s, known for their breakfast burritos! But personally I would recommend the all meat burrito, especially if you’re a guy and want your meal to be extra man sized! Am I right, or am I right?! I personally am accustomed to the eggs, bacon and sausage breakfast burritos, so I’m not too familiar with adding beans in the mix, which is what Pepe’s does. It’s not bad, but not for me.
I’ve gotten both the all meat and the breakfast, obviously I recommend the all meat. Meat quality isn’t superb, but its a fast food restaurant, not Ruth Chris! The inside of the restaurant is a bit worn down and not as up-​to-​date. It could use a little touch up. They are in a good location near the college, they have a great product, I think if they really flipped it over, they could really have a line out the door!

Looking for a quick and cheap bite to eat to satisfy your desire for fast food mexican food? Look no further! Pepe’s is the place.
Dont bother with anything else on the menu, just go for the ginormous breakfast burrito. It’s huge, it’s filling, it’s less than $ 7.
All the other items are mediocre at best and definitely americanized.
