Description

History

Established in 2010.

We believe in real food for real people, and that is our promise to you…

Shortstop BBQ is the tangible realization of a passion and dream that we were born with. We grew up with stories about our great grandfather, Doug Harrison, who fulfilled a life’s dream when he opened a Pit Barbeque restaurant in Amarillo, Texas, in the 1950’s. In that old and rustic building, complete with sawdust on the floors, it was all about taking inexpensive cuts of meat, cooking them with a lot care, time and attention and putting out a great tasting product affordable to anyone.

Although we never had the privilege of knowing him, his influence on us has been great. Shortstop BBQ is all about taking the best of what has been, and fusing it with newer and more regional ingredients and techniques. Which is why we strive hard to provide great tasting food utilizing fresh, natural, and locally produced ingredients, cooked with the care and attention.

The Shortstop BBQ food truck started Oct. 1, 2010.

Meet the Business Owner

Andrew H.

Business Owner

Hey all you BBQ fans! We here at Shortstop BBQ are so glad you’ve found us.

Together with my wife Mary B. and my brother Alex H., I’m the owner and Manager of Shortstop BBQ and Catering. We started our catering company back in February, and ventured into foodtrucking in October 2010. This has been a long time dream for me and Alex, and we’re glad to be able to bring our love and appreciation of food, and especially good ol’ Barbeque, to the masses in Orange County. We’ve both worked in food service as long as we’ve had jobs, but it’s pretty great to have our own business.

Mary and I have been married since January 2008, and have been together since high school. We spent 8 months in France last year, where Mary worked as a performer at Disneyland Paris, while I studied French and learned a LOT about food. We love to travel, and to talk about the future, eat cheese, listen and dance to swing music, and watch old movies.
