I’ve never had such a positive experience at a hair salon. I admit, it looks a little sketch from the outside, but you have to trust that it’s the best place in town. The first time I went to Tina I wanted a big change– my hair was halfway down my back and I wanted it cut into a bob. My hair is very curly, so it’s very hard to get it right, and because the change was so big Tina asked me if I was sure several times as we talked about it– she’s the kind of person who will tell you if the cut you want will look good on you or not, and make suggestions. She’ll do what you want, but before you make the decision she’ll tell you straight up whether she thinks it’s a good call, and the honesty is really refreshing, probably kept a few people from making bad decisions. She also went slow with it to make sure the length was right, and my hair turned out great! I look like Baby from Dirty Dancing. Best haircut I’ve ever had.
If you don’t like the cut or its uneven for some reason, Tina offers to get you in right away so she can fix it for free. I’ve never had anyone offer that before! I’ve had my hair cut there several times, and I haven’t had to go back for a fix, but it’s a very nice offer considering I’ve had some bad haircuts done by other people (including people in Gainesville).
She also sells product at a very reasonable price (there’s a really good one for curly hair), and the cut is also very reasonably priced.

I have lived in several cities and have seen hair dressers at both high and low end salons and Tina, without a doubt, takes the cake. When I arrived for my first appointment I had my doubts given the building and location, but I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Total Image. I see Tina for cuts and color for my long hair and she is personable, flexible with appointments (often staying late into the evening to accommodate my work schedule), and highly knowledgeable. This girl knows her stuff and is clearly passionate about her business. Tina goes above and beyond to make her clientele satisfied and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Tina was my go-​to stylist while I was living in Gainesville and I still am unable to find someone with her knowledge and experience out here in Washington. When I planned for my wedding in Gainesville, I knew exactly who was going to ask to do my hair. She asked for hair style ideas far in advance and practiced the style before I was scheduled for the style. She was able to capture the overall style I was going for with an additional flair that it was missing in the idea pictures. The hairstyle went with my dress perfectly and everyone complimented me on my hair all day. I have and will always be pleased with Tina and her hair magic!

Everyone in the salon is always so friendly and they go out of their way to teach you about your hair and its needs without selling you a bunch of bogus products. Tina cuts my hair and it’s always the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. They also sell great hair products for cheaper than other salons. I don’t have a bad thing to say about Total Image!

I got an uneven cut with way to much taken off, not the place I would recommend. And I don’t normally say bad things about getting my hair done but I’m not happy, really nice people but as someone who went to cosmetology school in the last year, the skill set needs to improve immensely.

Kara did a fabulous job with my hair! Though I tend to salon-​hop from one haircut to the next, I may have found my place for a little while. My hairdresser washed my hair to get the already-​cut hair out of the way so she could put on the finishing touches and see exactly what was needed. Great service!

I saw Tina yesterday for a cut and highlight and I’m very pleased!
First off, I work in Ocala and it’s nearly impossible to leave work in time to make it to any appointment, much less be done before they close. Tina was able to do my hair after normal hours at 6pm which was great because it meant I didn’t have to go another week with awful looking hair. She was spent a lot of time listening to what I wanted and explained everything she was doing from beginning to end. We ended up doing highlights and low lights. My curly hair has so much more demention now and I don’t have to worry about what it’s going to look like in a few weeks when my hair starts growing out.
Go see Tina, you won’t regret it.

Kara did a great job on my hair and was very pleasant. The salon is clean and organized and a comfortable atmosphere. You cannot beat the service for the price. Thank you!

I went during the summer after seeing the good reviews on Unilocal.My stylist was a new employee; she was friendly enough but I got a terrible bob haircut that was chunky and uneven. However, the owner personally contacted me to make sure I was happy with the cut since my hair was cut by a new employee. I ended up going there again and the owner, Tina, cut my hair and I loved it. I think it’s actually one of the better cuts I’ve had. She understood my fears after having had a bad cut, and she gave suggestions on hair parting and styling that was flattering to my face shape. Tina was methodical and very competent in hair cutting and styling. I would go here again!

Kara and her mom are awesome! They are a great team! My color always comes out fantastic. Kara has a way with the scissors, like Edward Scissor hands, haha. Love that girl!

If your blonde is yellow or brassy from sun exposure, saltwater, or chlorine water… this is the place to go for a quick blonde fix! They toned down the yellow and orange notes in my hair with some low lights and highlights. It looks much more natural now. They also gave me a quick trim and my layers now lay more softly.

It was my first time getting an ombré and Gail really helped me out. I told her how I wanted it to look and she made it happened.
Everyone at Total Image that day was warm and inviting. They gave me tips on how to style my hair. Two thumbs up from me. :D

This is my first time having a haircut here, and they are all kind. My stylist is Gail. She is pretty patient listening to me and dealing with my heavy long curly hair. It turns out my perm come back to live and my hair looks healthier. Thanks to my friend’s recommendation. Glad I chose here.

I have never had a haircut in Gainesville before in the 3 years that I have lived here. I always opted to wait until I went to Orlando to get it cut by my regular stylist. However, thanks to the positive Unilocal reviews and a friend’s recommendation, I decided to check out Total Image.
Kara was excellent! She listened to what I wanted, and took precautions to make sure the final product was satisfactory. I’m looking forward to my next cut here.

When my stylist left town, I was very nervous of trying to find a new place. I asked around and there were many recommendations but I decided to give Total Image Salon a try, because it had wonderful reviews on Unilocal and the price range was reasonable. I have to say that I am so glad I did and will be going back there for my hair from now on. I highly recommend Tina and her other associates. They are very talented, great listeners and care about making sure their customers are completely satisfied.
I got a pretty drastic cut recently by Tina, which I loved, but when I came back home and tried to style it by myself at home, I realized I couldn’t quite get it the way Tina styled it for me after the cut. I called her back after 3 days of trying to style it myself and decided that I needed it to be cut a bit shorter and add texture to my hair. She gladly scheduled me in as soon as she could (she is great, so she’s booked most of the time!) and got my hair the way I wanted. That kind of customer service is difficult to find.
I have also had my hair cut by Kara, and she was also wonderful. If you are debating whether to try out Total Image Salon, I highly recommend that you do!

The building is very deceiving form the outside. I was definitely skeptical before walking in, but I trusted the 5-​star reviews and went in for my appointment with Katie. My hair is very long and very thin, and it was totally dry and dead at the bottom because I always planned on getting it cut back home during the summer.
I came in with a desperate mess to work with, and Katie was amazinggg with it! Her work seemed totally effortless and she shampooed, cut, shaped, blow dried and straightened my hair! By the time I was finished my hair was 100x healthier, fuller, softer and more shaped.
When I went to pay, she charged me $ 25! She did a better job than something I normally would pay around $ 70 for. I was very happy with the work and left her a generous tip. I will definitely be returning.

I haven’t been able to find a salon in Gainesville that I like and that was affordable until now! Walked in to get a price on full color and Katie was able to do it on the spot. She was great! Friendly environment in a place that you wouldn’t expect.
I’m so happy with my end result, and it didn’t break my bank. I encourage everyone to give Total Image a try, especially if you’re in the search for a salon in the Gainesville area.

I am in love! I just left my 1^st appointment with Tina and I’m so happy! She was ready for me the moment I walked in; zero wait time! I have long, thin hair and was asking for an ombré. She gave me her honest opinion on that look for me & was very sweet to let me know she would do anything I ask.
We did a high and low light to help my thin hair have depth & dimension. She gave me the perfect «no-​trim trim» (if you know what I mean) & wouldn’t even charge me for it. The blow dry was BEAUTIFUL! I left the salon with the style I walked in with but the color was better! She’s down to earth, sweet, funny, and really treats you like family. As others have said, do not be fooled by the older building. She’s the pearl inside a clam! 5 stars without hesitation!

I never write reviews but I was so happy with my haircut that I just had to! I found Total Image Salon on Unilocal earlier today and was impressed by the reviews so I decided to give it a try. Kara was my stylist and did such a fantastic job with my long bob haircut. She took her time and I admired her attention to detail. Quality work for a cheap price, what more could you ask for? I’m definitely going back and recommending Kara to all my friends. If only I found out about this salon sooner!
