Alliage Salon and Spa

I have been going to Theingi at Alliage for almost 12 years. She is THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! I followed her from her previous salon. The owners of Alliage have many years of experience and know what they are doing. When I moved to Baltimore, I drove an hour to go get my hair done here. Now, I live in Philadelphia and drive 2 – 3 hours to see Theingi. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

I just wanted to write about what a great experience I had with Carolina at this salon. I was a walk in, (I’m visiting from out of town) and they fit me in right away (I was lucky) and I explained to Carolina that I needed a good trim just to take off the dead ends and reshaping. I have curly long hair and I’ve had some terrible experiences with haircuts in the past, so I usually stick to the same stylist once I find a good one. But I’m visiting Maryland this week and wanted a cut for the new year. I’m glad I took a chance, she is really great at listening to what I wanted, and fun to talk to the entire time. It’s also a cute, relaxing interior. And, My hair looks just how I wanted, most importantly.

Well, I’ll never be going any where ever again for a haircut. After years of being disappointed with every other stylist, I found Rania! As someone with long, curly hair who has had her share of cuts where the stylist took off way more than I wanted, I was always terrified of getting it cut (I know, I know, «it’s just hair» but it’s my hair and I like it). Rania talked to me about what I wanted and reassured me that she would keep it long. She told me exactly what she was doing every step of the way. It turned out even better than I expected (then again, my expectations were low considering how many terrible experiences I’ve had elsewhere). As someone who gets anxious about the thought of scissors near my hair, I can honestly say Rania has changed the game for me. I’m only ending it here because I’ll sound redundant if I don’t. Just give this salon your money.

Yesterday was my first visit to Alliage Salon and I will be back. Nima cut and colored my hair and did a beautiful job. He has a good eye for color and spent extra time making sure my cut and style was perfect. I left feeling beautiful and today was able to style it like he did yesterday. To me, that is the sign of a good cut. Beautiful salon with lots of natural light.

Moved here 3 years ago and spend 2.5 years jumping from stylist to stylist trying to find the right one. I am 100% committed to Jessica now because she is not only talented but so passionate about styling and making you not only look, but also feel, like the best you!
I got extensions for my wedding, and since have gotten coloring and cuts. I get amazing compliments on my hair (for the first time in my life because I have very thin hair). And if I tell anyone I have extensions in they are shocked due to the amazing job Jessica does with discrete placement.

I went to Alliage, based on the reviews here. I’m so glad I did. Jessica is a terrific stylist. She listens and does what I want/​ask. She is professional and friendly. In addition, she is talented! She knows how to do a great job with color. Plus, she recommended a wonderful shampoo to help restore hair damaged by years of chronic illness. It is even starting to grow in a bit more. This salon is very reasonably priced, the only one I’ve found in ten years, that doesn’t charge for a blow dry. The staff is also friendly and professional.

First of all, DO NOT buy the Groupon for Josie at this salon. The woman advertises as working for Alliage Spa and Salon, and she doesn’t, she is an independent contractor. I made an appointment over a week ago for yesterday When I got to the salon, Josie was not there. The girls said she should be back shortly, as that is what she had told them.
Come 5:30, they tried calling her because she was still not there and I could tell based on their faces and reactions that this was not the first time this had happened. They then came over to me and said she wanted to speak to me on the phone, which was very unprofessional, but ok, I picked up the phone. She starts to YELL at me that she had called me twice to confirm the appointment and left me messages, so she wasn’t coming. I told her she never called me, I double-​checked my voicemail, and checked my answering machine when I got home and had nothing on there either. I told her I made the appointment for 5:15 and was there at 5:15, I had never gotten any calls, and that I wanted my hair done. She told me she was home with her kids and wasn’t coming in because I didn’t confirm the appointment. I told her that she never told me when I made the appointment that I would need to confirm it and had no missed calls from her and that I was going out of town to an affair. She told me that WASN’T HER PROBLEM.
The girls that work at Alliage were WONDERFUL. The girl sincerely apologized for Josie and spoke to her manager who agreed to do it for the Groupon price, even though they don’t participate on Groupon. I was treated like crap by Josie. Jessica turned it around and made my experience a VERY positive one. She was sweet, caring and wonderful, and most importantly, she did a BEAUTIFUL job! I am SO pleased with her work, she is a GENIUS when it comes to coloring and styling. I will definitely recommend her again and again and I will be returning!

Few months back I had the best haircut that I have received in a LONG time from Rayna. She was very knowledgeable and instantly knew how to make my thin Asian hair look fuller. The girl who washed my hair (sorry forgot her name) spent about 10−15min just massaging my head and that was absolute heaven. I haven’t received that type of treatment since going to a Japanese Salon in Los Angeles, CA. I will definitely go back and though it is a bit pricey, I will recommend it to others.

This salon is professional and warm, the staff is friendly, and Jessica Mansour, the greatest hair stylist ever works there. She’s a color genius and can not only style your hair any way you like, but has amazing taste and can recommend amazing styles or color specifically for you.

I don’t usually get many haircuts. I grow my hair long to donate it to Locks for Love. It takes about 3 or so years. I was on a quest to find someone who could cut my hair short and style it to my facial shape. After reading the previous Unilocal reviews I decided to try Rania at Alliage Salon. I was impressed that she sat down with me prior to any service to go over what I might be looking for. I knew i didn’t want to have to all that much styling and not look like a boy. I was able to provide a couple pictures of what I kinda liked and one of what I absolutely did not like. Admittedly, I didn’t give her all that much to go on. Going from long hair to short short hair is always a shocker. As she cut my hair I wasn’t sure but when she finished it turned out really pretty good. I think she did a good job of giving me what I asked for, a softer cut shaped for my face. I left really liking it.

I’ve been coming to Alliage since they opened, in fact, I followed my hair stylist here. The atmosphere is light, zen, and fun. Theingi is superb and I would not trust another soul to touch my hair. Except Rania, the owner, who had to do my roots when Theingi was out! The receptionists and shampoo folks remember you and make you feel at home. They may be a little pricey but it’s well worth it. Once I started having Maryan thread my eyebrows, I knew it was more than just the individual employees-​this place is legit. You’re in the best hands coming to Alliage.

Alliage Salon and Spa is absolutely the best and I have been to many. From the time you walk in you will feel pampered. The receptionists greet you with a greeting and a smile. The receptionists always call to confirm appointments and know how to speak correctly on a phone. I have both my nails and hair done at Alliage. Rena is the best nail specialist I have ever seen. I have my nails done every three weeks and they always look great. There is never chipping or breaking.
Jessica does my hair and is amazing. I have followed her from hair school, to a salon in DC, a salon in Virginia, a salon in Rockville and now to Alliage. My hair is as straight as it can be which can be difficult to cut without leaving lines and she cuts it so no lines are visible. She highlights my hair and it truly looks natural. Jessica makes suggestions to update my look or about products with I might like. I never worry that I won’t like what she does. She suggested a Keratin product called Solo which I love. It has no chemical in it and is 100% natural. My hair has never looked better or felt better. It is stronger, feels like silk, is very manageable and best of all it blows out without any frizz at all. I can go several days without doing my hair because it keeps its volume and shine.
Additionally, Jessica is not scissor happy when she cuts. She always consults with the client to see exactly what they want. If they want 2 inches cut, that is what is cut. Also if a client comes in and has a great idea and Jessica knows the shape of the face or the client’s hair will not accommodate the client’s wishes she will explain to the client why it won’t work for them. She wants her clients to be satisfied and works very hard to see that they are. I have sent many friends to her and they have remained clients because of her outstanding ability with cuts, color, and extensions.
She is certified to do extensions and has taken color classes beyond what is taught in hair school. Jessica is great with kids and is one of the few stylists that still does updos.

I have been using the same stylist for 16 years but couldn’t do the commute to DC anymore to see her. Tried this place on the recommendation of a friend for a looooong overdue trim/​cut. My stylist was Rania. I told her I was looking for crown volume and not too much length loss. She gave me an amazing cut and delivered exactly what I was looking for. She gave me some valuable maintenance pointers too. I didn’t do my color here but I think I will next time. It’s expensive but you really do get what you pay for. When it is a fresh, new style, you don’t want to skimp on quality. I am very happy with my cut!

The Salon is really nice and the staff are friendly and helpful… Me and my girl friend go every time to Alliage for a a hair cut… I highly recommend it… it is a good place and it worth your trust.

I am continually on a search for finding «THE» salon for myself. Alliage is coming up pretty close as one of my favorites! I was able to call the same day and get an appointment later that afternoon, which is helpful since I usually decide on the fly that I am sick of my hair and need a change. The receptionist greeted me right away and was very friendly. She was barefoot in the salon for some reason, which was initially a put off, but I guess it is an indication of how clean the salon is — even the employees would walk around barefoot. The price on the website for women’s haircut was $ 40+, but when I called, the range was $ 56 – 70. I have been to other high priced salons and were turned off because the staff were so pretentious, but not Alliage. They offered me drinks and water on several occasions and the staff were so accommodating.
Rania was the one who worked with me. She was professional and very nice. The lady who washed my hair was full of compliments and just made me feel good, especially since she gave an amazing scalp massage. I cut off a good chunk of hair and received a lot of compliments from others. They gave me a discount for being a first time client, so my $ 70 haircut was only $ 63. It is pricier than I would like, but given that I only cut my hair twice a year, the friendliness and skills of the haircut would probably bring me back.

After a series of bad haircuts, I searched «Asian haircuts for women» and this was the first one to pop up so I decided to give it a try. AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. This place was pricier than anticipated, but I feel like I got my money’s worth because my hair stylist Theingi cut my hair BEAUTIFULLY and so effortlessly. Not only were her and the woman who shampooed my hair great at what they did, they were so conversational and made me feel right at home. I had very thick long hair and she thinned it out and made it so much lighter (thank god because I would get headaches from my hair being too heavy)
It was very clean and beautifully decorated, definitely not what I expected when looking in from the outside. I highly recommend this place!

Comfortable & pleasant atmosphere.
I am a man, and this is a hair salon. There is a difference between a barber shop, and a hair salon. I take pride in my appearance, what can I say.
After going to about 3 or 4 different hairstylists in the area, I’ve finally found one that I love. I had previously been to this salon before, and had a male stylist who apparently left, which is great because that’s how I got Rania :).
What can I really say other than she does a great job with the cut and style of my hair, it’s a small and pleasant place to go, and they have some great haircare products there. I’m not going to pretend that it’s cheap, but in life you get what you pay for in most instances.

I LOVE this place.
I needed a trim before my trip out of town so I got a «trim» from some cheap hair salon in Rockville and that womaN butchered my hair. I quickly went to Alliage and got it fixed by Theingi. She is SO good at what she does I don’t know why I ever went anywhere else. I have wavy and partly frizzy Asian hair it’s a bit difficult to cut/​style but Theingi does it effortlessly.
The place is really clean, new, and the staff is very friendly.
I highly recommend this place!
