Business Owner

Mr. Williams has been studying the martial arts for more than 20 years. While still in high school he became an assistant instructor and earned his 1^st Degree Black Belt in January of 1993 from BMI Karate in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Mr. Williams spent 5 years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. While serving in Okinawa, Japan he studied Okinawa Shorin-​Ryu under Grand Master Fusei Kise. In 2000, after leaving the Navy, he returned to Maryland and BMI Karate to become the Chief Instructor, moving it forward to become the most successful martial arts academy in Gaithersburg & Germantown. Mr. Williams excels at teaching students to become leaders and not followers and to always do their very best, regardless of what they aspire to accomplish. He has extensive knowledge in reality based self defense and compliance & control self defense. He is also an expert in competition sparring with an emphasis on kicking technique.
