History

Established in 2003.

Electrical Connections LLC started out as a father and son team in early 2003. Our company’s foundation has relied on three core values, which are: Honest treatment to all of our customers. Completing all jobs in a SAFE manner that meets and exceeds electrical codes. To provide our customers with the best qualified technicians that are highly trained and background checked. The father and son team has grown greatly and has added several team members to the organization since 2003. These values have also been ingrained in our company culture which has translated into a great environment for all of our team members.

I have lived in Montgomery County all my life and went to UMUC and studied business administration and Finance. Spent several years at a local brokerage company which I never fell in love with. I decided to work with my father, Bill Castillo and grow our family business. We worked in several fields of the electrical industry but have a passion for residential service and repair. There are two things that I love about this part of electrical contracting. The first thing is that everyday is different as far as solving electrical problems and you never see the same problem twice. The last thing is the people. I absolutely love dealing with and enjoy getting a thank you and a real appreciation from a homeowner at the end of a job. That is something you never get when doing a commercial project or working for a contractor. I am a local kid serving our community with passion and pride in my work.

Guillermo and his crew are great. We have used them for several projects including to install recessed lighting, several outlets, and some other miscellaneous work. They have always been professional, courteous, clean, and, most importantly, honest. They are also extremely friendly and pleasant to work with. If you’re looking for an electrician, look no further. Everything about our experience with Electrical Connections was excellent. The customer service was outstanding from the start to finish. Tim, the owner of the business, came on time to my house and clearly explained both the solutions to the electrical issues I had and his menu style fee structure. Tim also was of great help in helping us choose lighting fixtures using his architectural background. The LED box light he suggested and installed in our kitchen is aesthetically pleasing and produces the perfect amount of light for the space. I would recommend Tim’s company highly to anyone needing residential electrical services.

At the end of last year my girlfriend said she smelled smoke in our Guest house when coming in and out of our front door. I never smelled anything and dismissed it as someone having a fire outside. That weekend at about 8pm, I did smell it and realized it was coming from the electrical panel. Being a contractor, I pulled the panel cover off and saw nothing, but it did smell worse. Our neighbors also have a Historic home, and said great things about Guillermo and his crew. I called Electrical Connections and they were at our house within 45 minutes. Guillermo’s father also works for the company and was near by and came right out to start diagnosing. Within minutes he discovered the problem and some charred wires.
It turned out that the amount of power being used in the Guest house was more than the outdated wires running to it could handle. They made the problem safe that night and then came back to trench and run a larger wire from the main house to the guest house. They were always on time, clean and polite and even managed to work around the not so friendly dogs on the property. They honored the price quoted and never tried to push any unnecessary services.
I cannot recommend these guys enough. This is the company I would trust to send to my Grandmas home if she ever needed their services. Thanks William, Tim, Guillermo and everyone that worked at our house. We will definitely use you again.

what an amazing experience this has been to get started on some overdue electrical work on my home with such a terrifically nice guy, Tim. he has been immensely helpful in replacing fixtures (even having to jackhammer out old concrete around an outdoor lamppost!); he is patient and thorough in his explanations, delightful to chat with, impeccably neat in his work.

Guillermo was absolutely amazing. From the time that I contacted the business i was nothing more than pleased with the customer service that I received. Guillermo came to my home and repaired an issue with my microwave and lighting circuits. Although this was an issue from another contractor, he offered a very honest opinion and immediately came up with a solution to my problem. I trusted his opinion and respected his honesty and would recommend Electrical Connections to anyone!
Pros: Entered my home and placed shoe protectors on shoes, laid down mats in areas where he would be working, very neat work, friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about the work that he does.

Guillermo and his team did a terrific job troubleshooting and fixing an electrical circuit issue, as well as installing a ventilation fan in my home. Great service! Awesome price. Guillermo came out he worked with me and brainstormed the entire project. He was very professional. The following day he sent a member of his team out to tie up the lose ends. I left the lock box on the door went to work, came back home and the project was completed. Area was cleaned. Tim Davis of Electrical Connections replaced our aging electrical breaker box with speed and skill. In the process he discovered a plumbing error that had resulted in the location of a water pipe in a position above the box, posing a long-​term danger if leakage should occur. He carried out his installation work in a manner that made it easy for our building management to make the needed plumbing adjustment at no additional cost to us. This man is more than a good electrician. He is a perceptive and intelligent individual with a good set of human values.

Since writing the previous review, Guillermo R. Castillo has been extremely helpful and reliable. He pulled a new permit for us, came to check that we could still pass inspection, and today is at our house getting our electrical inspection. Next step is getting Pepco to come to our house.
After all of this hardwork, we will definitely use Electrical Connections for future electrical work. I know realize that the previous issues were honest mistakes as Guillermo has worked very hard to make up for them.

After posting my review, Guillermo Castillo (the owner) called me and we had a good, honest conversation.
He explained that their dispatcher should’ve better handled my call and apologized for what transpired. Guillermo clearly demonstrated that he’s an honorable person who sincerely wants to provide top-​notch service to prospective and current customers.
Guillermo also explained how he plans to address my negative experience and offered to personally come to my home to provide a free estimate. He really impressed me, and I offered to wipe the slate clean from what happened with the dispatcher.
I’ll strongly consider Electrical Connections, LLC if/​when I need any future electrical work.

I needed my televisions mounted, so I completed the inquiry form on their website for a quote. Within an hour a representative called me and scheduled a time for the contractor, Tim, to do a home visit. Tim is fantastic! He is very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I called Electrical Connections based on their 5-​Star rating from Unilocal to install an exterior light at our new store. The technician, Tim, was very personable and knowledgable and gave me several options, all of which he thoroughly explained. I appreciate that the pricing is upfront and not an hourly rate, so I had no surprises. This company does good work and I highly recommend them .

Epitome of customer service and professional care. Tim and Guillermo really did a fantastic job of setting up our new lights and switches in our home. They were in no rush to get the job done but instead focused on getting it done right and with the utmost care that anyone would want in their home– which they absolutely did!
