This place is great! My husband has been a loyal customer ever since, he and his fam have their window tint done here, so I trust he should know. Despite some reviews, I got my car tinted here! N I customized my car w vinyl wrap too and they did not disappoint. Laura, Rich, Wil and their whole crew are accomodating and awesome! My husband and I love their premium tints so it’s worth it. And if by any chance you find something wrong with the work-​just let them know and they’ll do something to fix it if they can. There’s a lifetime warranty. what more can you ask for?

Some people here received an after market remote start and are happy with it. I’ll buy that because some at Directed dot com, including the HIGHEST LEVEL GUY told me most will end up happy; BUT HE ALSO SAID when problems occur the installers are to HUMBLY come to the BEST for 100% resolution — DIRECTED DOT COM! Look-​up Directed dot com and see for yourself. They are the BIGGEST and the BEST and are THERE to RESOLVE ANY remote start problem Hot Tint or any other installers are having. You tell the Hot Tint owner of your remote start problem, he immediately passes the buck to the installer. The installer is afraid of showing he doesn’t know what he likely shouldn’t know to begin with and won’t work with Directed, the experts there to PATIENTLY help ALL INSTALLERS through ANY problems! And my car with the first remote start Hot Tint installed would RANDOMLY start on its own WITHOUT EVER PUSHING THE STARTER BUTTON causing Hot Tint to slightly freak out and IMMEDIATELY replace it! And if my car was parked in my home garage overnight and it started on its own like out of some stupid horror movie my entire family and I would all be dead. Don’t take this chance — when it comes to a remote start go somewhere else. Besides a total waste of money I wasted so much time and received abundant frustration dealing with these guys.

They did an excellent job on my remote start. I showed up early and they took it right then. They were done in half the time they said.

Been coming to Hot Tint for many years now and have had a lot of cars worked on there. Their custom work is top of the line and the staff is awesome… I would definitely recommend.

This place is okay. I got a promotion through groupon and scheduled my appt to get a car tinting service. It was an okay job because they did the service fast however I was not pleased with how they handled my car. They returned the car very dirty inside and out and oh customer service sucks!
If you were to ask me if I recommend this place for car tinting service the answer would probably be no!

Had my car tinted here. Went with the NR Supreme which is suppose to be the higher end tint, but seems like i rather had just went with the cheaper one. That way my expectation wouldn’t be that high. I paid more than i should have and the tint job just was just ok. There was a hair in my rear window tint and also a spot they super glued a crease down. Was not the worst thing ever.
A week after i finally rolled down my window and noticed that one of the 4 windows had a gap between the top of the window and the tint that was larger than any of the others. I went in and it seemed like such a hassle to get them to replace it. One employee try to convince me that it was not a big deal and shouldn’t be bother. i later talked to the person that tinted the car and he also suggested not bothering with it but he was also was willing to re do it.
After the re tint of that car i went home and noticed that there was a lot of scratches from the tool they used to press down the tint. I went straight back to get the same window re tinted again.
Now i am starting to notice that all of my windows have some sort of scratch on tint.
Some have really long ones and others having multiple one inch scratches trough the whole top of the window.
Do not really want to go back to complain about scratches on each window and small perfections throughout the tint job, it would just be a headache.
I cant really suggest this place because my friend got his car tinted at a different shop and it looked nearly flawless.

I honestly can’t understand how this company is still in business. Total rip offs! I guess they knew I was new to stereo systems and speakers. Lesson learned $ 700 later with a pair of no name speakers and amp! Sad!

I had a groupon for 5 window tinting, reading the reviews I was a little skeptical. I arrived 20 minutes before scheduled, & I was taken care of right away. The front desk was very polite. I was convinced to buy the nation-​wide lifetime warranty it is def worth the $. I was told it takes 2 – 3 hours but I arrived at 230 for a 3pm appt & I was done before 5pm. They did an excellent job, I was told not to lower my windows for 7 days, they even put a sticker to remind me– and STILL I put my window down by accident at a drive thru lol (this was on the 5^th day) My tints are perfectly fine & I def recommend this place if you are looking to get your car tinted :)

They make sure you are aware of the extra charges as well as the types of remotes you might want to consider depending on your car. They gave me an estimate wait time of 3 – 5 hours. Car was ready in 2 hours.

Just spent another $ 435.00 to have the work and wiring completely repaired and rewired in my car! Stay away from this company!!!

So as far as the window tint goes, mine look pretty good. I got the grouoon deal but had to pay $ 10 extra for the little Windows. But still $ 140, for tint on a sedan. Is not bad at all. I would definitely recommend this place. They seem to have taken their time too!!! Also the receptionist or maybe the wife of the owner is very nice too!!!

I had an electric start installed on my car! It’s awesome! The work was done quickly in the time frame they promised! The lady working in the front was very friendly!
My car was clean /​no mess when I picked it up which has happened to me before at other place.

Don’t go to this place. They installed remote start and when I used it, it wiped out my chip in my key. Had to pay $ 200 for replacement and they didn’t pay for it. After all that, the remote start didn’t even work. They said my car didn’t support it AFTER they installed it.

I have to agree with most of the other reviews online. This is a questionable place. I bought the Groupon for the remote started for $ 99. When making the appointment I was told that I need to also have a bypass module installed for another $ 100. These module are simple boxes that just hold a key and sell on line for $ 10. I asked the shop and they said that I could buy my own module but they would charge me $ 75 to install it. My appointment was scheduled far in advance for 3:00 PM but they didn’t start the car until 4:00. The installation went well but I was surprised to have an extra $ 25 fee tacked on to my bill for shop fees and disposal. I asked the owner about the fees and he first said that that the fee was mandated by the state of MD than I kept pressing and he finally admitted that HE set the fee rate at 13% based on his research of what other shops charge. I would think that these ‘charges’ would have been included in the cost of installation… I asked him what this covers and he started with BS like the cost of electrical tape and tie wraps… Basically the groupon will get you in but they will find a way to charge you in other ways. I would go somewhere else.

I got the groupons for the tint and the remote car starter. The tint turned out well and I have no complaints on the tint.
***MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS — the starter used for manual transmissions at this place is set up to where if you leave your car in gear accidentally and turn on the starter, it will drive forward!!! I went to a different place using a groupon couple of years ago for my old car and the device they used on manual cars was different and it would not engage unless the car was in neutral.
The remote car starter: it needed a bypass and charged extra because it’s a manual which I completely understand.
Within a week, the box fell from underneath the dash and I was stepping all over the cables and the remote would not unlock the car after it was started.
the cable issue was fixed but right after I left my maintenance light came on and now I need to take it in to the dealership. I just bought my year few months ago and it’s a 2015, nothing wrong with it.
The issue with locks was a software issue and I was told they’d call within a week to get me to come back and update. I never received a phone call.
I would not recommend, go somewhere else!
I have no complaints on the customer service, I had a good experience with the staff, but the issues with the starter are too much.

Bought the groupon. Then my friend says read the Unilocal reviews. They were really unorganized and I could not get a decent appoint set up (rather curt as well.) Canceled the Groupon and asked my dealership (just bought a nice luxury car I did not want to mess up.) The dealership, Mercedes Benz of Silver Springs works through this guy Reggie at Black It Out and Sons of Otis Auto. Best job and only $ 100. I gave him 15% tip because of the nice job and low cost — he was said ‘are you sure?’ Humble. I support good businesses and businessmen. He will come out to you as well and charges $ 5 more for credit cards. 240−417−5729 or 301−877−8889. That $ 100 is his everyday cost for 2 front, 2 back, 1 rear. You just need to visit the shop to decide for yourself.

To anyone who uses these coupons such as Living Social, check the company who has offered the coupon before you pay. If the expiration date is 60 days away your chance of getting a refund even if the company offering the coupon did wrong is very slim after 7 days!
I purchased a coupon for a remote starter for my car through LS Hot Tint Speed & Sound, the coupon was for $ 100.00 (regularly $ 290.00) I waited for about 30 days (expiration date was Dec 2015) I set up the date and went in. They told me my car did not need a bypass switch so there was no extra charge come back in 3 hours. Got a call 2.5 hours in saying yes it did need a bypass and it was $ 100.00 extra, the guy on the phone said «if you don’t want to pay it we can take all the stuff out and you will lose your $ 100. you paid to LS. I agreed to have it done, I didn’t want to lose my $ 100.00, now my bill is $ 226.00 total that is including the $ 100.00 I paid to LS. Got there to pick it up and they said the bypass is not working come back in one week that everything was done it would only take 10 minutes.
Today was that day. I showed up I guess 7 minutes early and I walked through the door as soon as I walked through the door the girl at the counter and a tech started saying «7 minutes, 7 minutes» I thought they were saying it was going to take 7 minutes to finish the truck I quickly found out they wanted me out of the place until they opened in 7 minutes. I said OK but I have a question do you want me to wait until you open to ask it? The counter girl looked at the tech and they didn’t say anything I asked my question (it was regarding my dog in the truck and then waited outside for 7 minutes.
There ended up being a problem with the remote starter, my tech Rico was back there and I could tell something was wrong. When he came up front (an hour later) I said is something wrong? He said yes the starter is engaging for too long they blocked out 3 hours to fix it. I told him if it would make it easier I could bring it back and leave it within the next few days as I couldn’t stay for 3 hours I was told it was take 10 minutes. This man looked at me with a full store full of customers and workers and said if you don’t want it done now I can just rip all of our stuff out and you can go on your way (knowing all along he has my LS money and has me over a barrel) I asked him what he thought was causing the issue and he said «look the longer I stand her and talk to you the longer you are going to be here it could be a thousand things» The manager asked him to come out and brief me of the situation and this guy started yelling and screaming and told the manager he refused to.
I spoke to the owner on the way out and told him how I was spoken to. I have never seen such disrespect and horrible customer service. Not to mention they lost my original ticket and remote start and then tried to say I had the remote starter.
While waiting I contacted LS and I had no recourse If they had not finished the job or ripped everything out as they said I would have been out my money as it wasn’t within the 7 days. But the shop didn’t have an appointment within the initial 7 days.
Beware, check the businesses first before you purchase!

This has got to be the worst experience I’ve ever had. Believe the reviews… and if you buy a Groupon… proceed with extreme caution!!!

You will truly get what you pay for here and I don’t mean that in a good way. I don’t understand why they’re not banned from Groupon yet. They have the worst customer service, and they will try to charge you for a bunch of extra stuff to the point where you’re spending at least 2 to 3 times your Groupon. Then, when I told them I would like to get a refund through Groupon because I didn’t want their services they told me my money was redeemed for my Groupon the day before I receive any service. This was a lie to try to get my money, but I called Groupon and was issued a full refund and I suggest you do the same if you’ve already bought yours.

Bought a groupon for 5 tinted windows. *Warning* These guys will revoke your groupon if you do not make it ontime to your appointment.* If you’re getting your windows tinted with this offer, they make you come in on a Sat. and apparently you «have» to be there before 9am. Dumb.
First appointment: Whoever scheduled me didn’t tell me you had to be there before 9am and because of that, they allowed me reschedule a month later…
Second appointment: I woke up a little passed 9am b/​c who the hell expects you to wake up that early after a Friday night? (forgive me for my youth) I calmly argued with one of the employees so that my groupon wouldn’t get revoked. He let me come in thankfully. Came in at 945am and received my car back at 430pm.
Customer service: The secretary was nice. However the tech I was on the phone with gave me an unwelcoming attitude. I spoke to the guy and he straight up ignored me. Anyways. This review was mainly for their customer service. The guy also said I had 7 windows so we’ll have to charge you extra for the 2 not included on the groupon. Yes… they count the little windows in the rear seat that are «split» in the back, as a separate windows. The tints came out fine, but you’ll still have to pay a little on top of that.
I wouldn’t recommend this place solely for the customer service. They could care less about your groupon. Might as well take that offer down if you don’t want to accommodate it.

Not happy with there service they won’t allow you reschedule your appointment and if you miss it you forfeit the groupon. They not professional and would not recommend them to any one!

STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY. STAY AWAY. This place doesn’t even deserve one star. I specifically asked them to insure that the window tint that was being installed was no less than 25 percent because I was moving to Texas very soon. They told me that they can only get the window to 28 percent and it will pass a Texas state inspection. Well when I took my car in for inspection in Texas they told me that my window tint was at 20 percent!!! I failed the inspection and because I’m no longer in MD I will have to pay for it to be redone. This place is horrible.

This review is about window tinting services. I was initially concerned with all of the negative reviews of this place but I was amazed by their great service. Derek was very professional and had a lot of knowledge about window tinting. I recommend this place!

My car is in the shop again to repair faulty work by this shotty company. They cut the connectors when they were installing the fog lights. People beware!

DO NOT GO THERE PLEASE. BELIEVE THE REVIEWS! this place and space8age creations are the same place. Please read my review on there. I spent 7 ½ hours, $ 410, and walked away with an incompleted car that was covered in greasy hand prints and trash.

This is my first Unilocal review, I just had to write one.
This place now has horrible customer service; the guy that helped me talked like he was angry about something. I’ve tinted multiple cars here since 2010 and never had problems… so today I took another car and arrived at 9am. Everyone’s appointment is at 10 am, so I wanted to be the first one out and got there an hr early, just like I used to. Then around 9:45, people started showing up, the doors opened and everyone rushed in front of me. I asked for my car to be moved up since I was one of the first two there, and got «Okay I’ll do my best.» I came in 2^nd, left 6^th or 7^th after 5 hours of waiting. Complete BS that people get in front of me and won’t move even after I ask. What’s worse is that the employees did nothing about it and did not move my car up in order. This isn’t how it used to be when this shop opened. I’ve referred at least 7 – 10 cars/​friends in the past and will not any longer. This is the last time I will come here.
Oh and the tints? They are alright… don’t get too lost in the price: the Living Social deal only covers the bottom-​end type of tint and you will be charged $ 15 for every quarter window you have on the car as well. Also, they charge $ 23 for supplies, so you’ll end up paying full cost any way.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND ESPECIALLY YOUR MONEY… bought groupon for remote start and had to wait a month before they had any available appts. was recommended an upgrade for the remote start system, but later realized it was a downgrade because it was for a 2008 Avital product rather than the Viper system the Groupon explicitly stated we would be receiving. Also paid for painting of headlights and tailights, which was by far the lowest quote I had received, but later came to realize why. When I came back the next morning to pick up the car, (yes, they had it for 24hrs), the paint job was horrific. There were clear indications on the headlights that they had painted right over the headlight without cleaning it first, and there were missed spots, accidental spots, scratches, uneven paint, and mismatched circular measurements around my headlight. One tailight was done beautifully, but the other had a deep bled run and there were spots on the part of the tailight that was not to be painted. In addition, my remote start system did not work properly when I came to pick it up, so I had to wait another hour and a half for them to fix it. Finally, when they believed they fixed it, I find that my remote start system works until my door or trunk is opened. Once either of those are opened, it shuts off, which is absolutely ridiculous. When I called Directed systems, who owns Avital and Viper, they told me that I could have gotten another bypass module installed that would allow me to remote start my vehicle without it shutting off when a door or trunk is opened, and its actually cheaper than the bypass module I already bought, I am already taking the appropriate steps to have my money returned to me because this shop is a complete joke and I will never return or recommend anyone here. STAY AWAY!

Don’t buy a Groupon or Living Social coupon thinking that you’re getting a deal. Pay more money and have your aftermarket additions completed elsewhere. Their work is shoddy and they will not stand behind their work or the products that they have installed. Save yourself time and money and headache! Hot Tint Speed & Sound appear to be run by a group of ex-​cons who want to use threats and intimidation once you’ve purchased their services. They have about as much customer service as an angry homeless person. This place is an absolute sham and fraudulent company; they should have their business license revoked by Montgomery County. I would rate them a negative (–5) stars if that were an available option on Unilocal

Had a Groupon for a remote start. After speaking with Hot Tint over the phone I decided to upgrade to the better model with 2 remotes.
I am very satisfied with the service performed, the job was completed sooner than expected.
Hot Tint has window tinted several cars for me over the past 5 years or so, the work still looks great on the 1 car I still own.
The only issue is the so called waiting area which I give 1 star.

i buy a remore start for my rogue HORRIBLE JOB i cant belive this is a profesional install, all the cables under the dash tied with cable tied, after two day tha cables fall when i was driving, the «technician» forget some parts and Brand new black tape under my sit,
I ask if there put the sensor under the Hood if somebody try to open, the manager i thing he was say it is imposible to open the Hood from outside i hope the thief know that too
dont loose your money in this place, bad service, and over all manager with very bad actitud
