This would be a five star place if they would turn on the AC! Definitely a great spot for amazing prices. I always order huevos rancheros and my co worker orders 3 chicken tacos. Our bill is always 11.36! This includes a drink as well. Food quality is good and the rice never tastes old.

Decent food! awesome beans and rice, Taco’s are good but the sopas are so good here and the salsa is flavorful and hot. Price was reasonable, Definitely a hole in the wall, Customer service questionable.

From the very first visit I was serviced by an unfriendly almost rude Hispanic women at the counter and I am here to tell you that there has been no improvement. The food is pretty good, the décor ugly, the staff rude.

This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall little place, but a cool one. Haven’t tried all that much here, but I like their carnitas, some of the best I’ve ever had, flavorful, not dried out, with a nice sear/crisp on the outside and tender meat on the inside. Later tried the pork adobada, very flavorful with seemingly good quality meat as well as really good hot sauce. The carne asada is good also, although sometimes a tad grisly. They have breakfast all day so tried the chorizo and eggs, not crazy about the chorizo, otherwise good, got all potatoes and they had a great flavor and texture, the best part of the breakfast. Later I tried a cheese omelette, again w/all potatoes. It was very good overall. Also, good, friendly service(only done orders to go, this place is pretty small for dine-in).

Disappointed. I was really hoping this place would be good since its only literally about a 5 minute walk from my house but good wasn’t what I received. The inside of this fairly new hole-in-the-wall wasn’t anything special to look at whatsoever but that’s kind of what I expected, no big deal, at least it looked clean in there. I was ungreeted by an older Hispanic lady, I don’t know if she was just having a bad day or what but she was not friendly. I ordered the carnita sopes dinner which came with beans and rice. I think it $ 5.95 or about that, pretty good price. Presentation of my little dish was actually done well, had all the nice little garnishes. Looked good but just ended up tasting so-so. My wife got a bean and cheese burrito. She said it tasted like someone just dumped a can of beans on a tortilla. I gave her burrito a taste and to me tasted like they are using a low quality cheese. Like using Kraft American sliced cheese in the burrito rather than a good cheddar. I don’t know whether that is the case or not but that’s just what it tasted like. Not too many Mexican food joints around this part of Garden Grove. I was hoping to find a great one to keep coming back to. Haven’t found it yet. I’ll probably give these guys another shot since they are conveniently super close to me but I’ll be ordering something different the next go around.

I recently moved to Garden Grove and love that I’m surrounded by great Vietnamese and Korean restaurants. That being said the Mexican in me has been a little lonely. I happened to be driving down Gilbert St. and on the corner of Chapman Ave. I spotted a sign in Spanish«La Cabaña» and saw it was a restaurant. Cool! So this morning I stopped by to try one of their breakfast plates. I ordered the chorizo and egg plate($ 5.95). I was brought a basket of chips and some really tasty salsa. It barely had any heat to it but was very flavorful, which I thought was good. My plate came with a decent portion of chorizo and eggs, probably two. Also refried beans and some cubed potatoes with onions. The portion was just right and was really tasty. I also ordered a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice($ 3.99), which was made to order and was in a big glass. Mmm, good. I asked the lady that served me if they had just opened as the place looked recently painted. She said they had been there 4 months. The place is small with maybe 6 – 8 tables, the cook and server were polite and friendly, the place was clean and their is plenty of parking. This is in a small strip mall between a Filipino market and a Mexican market. Well, I hope this business does well. I’m definitely going back for breakfast and I can’t wait to try something for lunch or dinner.
