Ace Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning

We had them check out our furnace which wasn’t working anymore. They tried some things («reconnecting» a wire) and found a faulty /​broken limit switch. After messing with the wiring they deemed the furnace to old and inoperable, plus, that switch was «not replaceable because they don’t make these parts anymore». The one part that worked (the fan) wasn’t working now either. I called Ace Mechanical to see if they can at least reverse what they did to the furnace so that I would be able to show our insurance company what part is actually broken, but was told that they wouldn’t «fix» it — though I never asked for that. I had only asked for a reversal of their «work». We called our insurance and they send out their own contract company, which found now a totally wrong wiring. The second company that our insurance send out actually fixed the furnace and now our «too old «and «inoperable» furnace works fine. The other company just replaced a broken transformer and that supposedly broken switch works now as well.
So, in short, Ace disabled our furnace, deemed it inoperable, messed with the wiring and caused a lot of headache. Also, they are not very interested in new business. When talking to their boss I had also asked for a quote to replace the whole furnace, which I never got. At the time I liked them and everything I was told seemed to make sense for a day.

Ron is awesome! He installed a central heater and duct work for me 20 years ago and comes back periodically to perform maintenance and the heater still works great. I change my filters myself (he showed me how) and have never had any issues with him or the heater. Super nice guy would and do recommend him to everyone. This is your guy for heating and AC. In fact, I plan on calling him soon to add air conditioning. This heat is killing me.

I used Ron to fix a problem with my old electric central heater. It was stuck on a cycle and would not turn off. I had a handyman try to replace the old thermostat with a programmable one earlier without success. Ron installed the new thermostat after spending a long time figuring out the old style wiring on this dinosaur (yes, I will be replacing it soon!) He figured it out and got the new electronic thermostat working and the stuck heater fixed.
On an earlier occasion, I called Ron to replace an old HVAC system for my rental. He came out to see if he could fix the old heater and give me a price for a new system, but I ended up using someone else to install a new system only because I was in a time crunch due to a new roof being installed, and he was one day too long on getting a new heater for me. I let him know I was sorry I couldn’t use him that time. But he was a pro and also said he would not charge me for coming out and looking at the old system.

The digital thermostat display was blank. I found the company on CL, called and left a message. Ron Kinzie called me back in a few minutes. We sent an appointment for today and he arrived on time and diagnosed the problem within 15 min. He got to work replacing the faulty thermostat and we we up in running in another 15 min. Ron was pleasant, knowledgeable and I thought the price was fair.
